Walking up to the bus stop this morning, I realised there was an almighty layer of dog muck lying across the pavement. Luckily, I didn't have to walk past it but of my friends do. Three of them walked through it before we noticed, and they nearly missed the bus as they took ages trying to get it off. Then, getting off the bus, I walked back to my house when i was 'ambushed' by this massive thing and it's owner. It was violent as hell and barked at me for ages. I live in a house that neighbours a dog-owners, and their dog is unbelievably loud. It barks continually through the night in a high-pitch, screeching yap, and sometimes I feel like running out into the garden and killing it. Also, one day last week I went to my friends house, and he has recently acquired a dog. It stank. Unbelievably. I couldn't eat properly because of it, using the excuse that I... wasn't hungry. Also, before I left, the house began to stink even more, because of a massive bit of faeces that was lying in the middle of the staircase. I nearly vomited. And, the way they jump up and scratch at you all the time, and the way they bark continually, and the way they stink and just everything about them is unbelievably annoying! So here is what I propose: 1. We kill all dogs except guide dogs. And that's basically it. |

You could always try feeding it antifreeze or something. That'll do the trick. And yeah, I'm not much of a fan of dogs either. The worst bit is when you go into someone's house and there's that unmistakably awful reek of dog. Can't stand that. |

I have a feeling this thread is going to be filled with pictures of dog very soon. I do admit, dogs can be smelly and messy, but that usually is the owners fault. If they bathed their dog more often and properly paper trained it then this wouldn't be a problem. Of course, some dogs are just naturally smelly. D: Dog lovers unite! |

Dogs? D: Cats and Rabbits- the two greatest house pets around. Softer, cleaner, nicer smelling, less drooling, and more independent. |

I love all types of pets. I have 6 cats at my dads house, so don't think I'm on the dog side of this. Here is the thing, cats are cleaner, and they take care of themselves more, but dogs are more loyal. I have 6 cats that could truly give a rats ass about me as long as they get food. Dogs on the other side find joy in making us happy. |

I've seen my friend bathe his dog several times; nearly every time I go over there. It doesn't get the reek of dog out though. And; it's not the owners fault. If some retarded dumbass doesn't know when or where to shit, it should be shot. |

Did you not notice these key words and sentences? Usually means "most of the time" not "all the time". I never said it's always the owners fault. Older dogs tend to smell and can't control their bladder or bowels. So of course these circumstances aren't the owners fault. Some dogs have stronger smells because of oily skin or other natural causes. If a dog bites or licks itself more than normal it may smell worse than a regular dog. There are countless reasons to why a dog may smell just like there are many reasons why a person may smell.
Not to start a flame war or anything, but going by that logic you're saying that you should have been shot as a toddler. No one is born toilet trained so you probably have had accidents at a young age. Puppies and human infants can't hold their waste as long as a full grown adult can. Training is required for both as well. At an old age you tend to lose control of these functions. Do I really need to go into detail? Alas, these factors aside, some dogs just never learn when or where to take care of their business. If you don't want a dog to use your floor as a bathroom, then keep them outside. If you don't like their smell, then just don't get a dog. If your friends of family members own a dog and you don't like being around dogs then politely ask if the dog could be put in a seperate room when you visit. Either that or suck it up and don't let a dog ruin your relationship with family and friends. If your neighbors have a dog that keeps you up at night politely let them know. If they don't do anything about it file a complaint. I'm not telling you that you have to like dogs. I'm just providing a few reasons to why a dog may be the way it is. If you don't like dogs that's okay. Everyone has a right to their opinion and I'm not going to try to change it. |

Everybody is going to think I'm stupid and lazy because I can't be bothered to reply to that post; but basically, your logic is sound and works well. I guess I'm just one of life's dog haters. My friends dog is about 4, and he still goes to the toilet everywhere - I don't know much about dogs, so what I've said is from experience. |

Cats suck. All they do is hide all day and when the do come out it's usually only to take a shit or to eat, or for you to pet them. Dogs, on the other hand, are much more fun. You can't take your cat outside to play because they'll just sit on their lazy asses. Dogs are much more loyal, and most would defend you if you were in danger. etc tl;dr version: Dogs rule. |

I'm a dog person too. Mostly because my dog is so pro. She gets up on chairs around our table when we're eating. It looks fucking hilarious. |
