    Link Kid’s Top 10 #1

Starting today, I will be starting to do a Top 10 every week for as long as I feel like it. Every Top 10 I do will have a certain theme, and I will state the theme every week. I got the idea from Gamefaqs.com where someone posts a Top 10 everyday. Remember: don’t get angry if I have missed a game that deserves to be on the list. I have simply not played every single game there is.

Today’s Top 10 - Games That Deserve an Editors Choice on Gamespot, but Never Got One.

#10: Metal Gear Solid - Playstation (Gamespot score: 8.5)
    Posted Image

Not only did Metal Gear Solid for the Playstation sound amazing, and look amazing, it also played amazing. Metal Gear Solid is one of those games where you look at it and say, “Imagine that game never existed?” Metal Gear Solid is a gem in the Playstation library, and to not give it at least a 9.0 is an insult to Konami. It is a game where you get so involved in it, you never want to put the controller down. Everything was near perfect when it was released. The graphics were slick, the sound was out -of-this-world, and it played like a dream come true.

#9: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - Playstation (Gamespot score: 8.9)
    Posted Image

I never really liked Castlevania games when they were on the Nintendo platforms. But once I played Symphony of the Night for the Playstation, I knew I couldn’t look at the series the same way again. Symphony of the Night is a masterpiece, to say the least. It took what made the previous games so good, and mixed it around to what has become of the greatest games ever created. An 8.9 for this games doesn’t do it justice, Gamespot needed to look at this game again, and see why it didn’t get an Editor’s Choice, but it definitely deserves it. Symphony of the Night also paved the road for the sequels to the games like Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, Aria of Sorrow, and Circle of the Moon.

    #8: Resident Evil 2 - Nintendo 64/Playstation (Gamespot score: 8.9)
    Posted Image/Posted Image

Resident Evil 2 was the first Resident Evil game I was hooked on. When I first played the original for the Playstation, I hated it. It was too clunky, too hard, and just too bad. I couldn’t stand playing it. I remember first playing Resident Evil 2, and I kept telling myself that it’s exactly the same as the first game, but I knew it wasn’t. An 8.9 is a true insult to the series. Resident Evil 2 set the standards for every other Resident Evil game that came after it. If it wasn’t for the creation of this Masterpiece, we wouldn’t have the same fun with Resident Evil 3, Code Veronica, and Outbreak.

#7: Resident Evil - Gamecube (Gamespot score: 8.9)
    Posted Image

Not only is Resident Evil one of the best looking Gamecube games out there, it is simply one of the best looking games ever. Mix that in with an awesome story, and some awesome gameplay, you got yourself a kick ass game. Resident Evil for the Gamecube is a remake of the original game with updated graphics, updated gameplay, and updated story. It added a bunch of twists here and there, and added a whole lot of atmosphere that everyone who has ever played this game will never forget. Capcom made a masterpiece with this game, and it is simply one of the best Resident Evil games out there. You can tell that they knew what they were doing when they were making this game, because it turned out nearly flawless.

#6: Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow - Nintendo DS (Gamespot score: 8.9)
    Posted Image

Dawn of Sorrow is no doubt the best Castlevania game ever created. It’s better than Symphony of the Night, it’s better than Circle of the Moon, and it’s better than Aria of Sorrow. To give this game anything under a 9.0 rating is ridiculous. Dawn of Sorrow looks and plays very similar to Symphony of the Night, and uses the same character from Aria of Sorrow. What makes this game so good is how big the whole map is, and how useful the map on the top screen can be. Those mixed in with a bunch of cool endings here and there, make this game a standout in the DS’s library and make it one of the best games ever created, no doubt about it.

#5: Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - Playstation 2 (Gamespot score: 8.7)
    Posted Image

Like Metal Gear Solid, Snake Eater is one of those games where you never want to put the controller down. An 8.7 does not give the game justice, it’s just such an amazing game. Snake Eater is a game where you get hooked in the story, and wowed by the visuals. Snake Eater takes place during the Cold War and you play as a man named Naked Snake, but his name eventually turns into Snake, for short. You go through giant forests, giant buildings, and even through jail. Snake Eater took the gameplay that made Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear for the Playstation so good, and evolved it. Now, you can get wounds you have to heal, camouflage suits, and even face paint to hide from the enemies. Why Gamespot didn’t see this as one of the best games on Playstation, I’ll never know, but one thing I will know is that this game is good, and better than a simple 8.7.

#4: Super Mario Sunshine - Gamecube (Gamespot score: 8.0)
    Posted Image

Yes, Super Mario Sunshine can be hassle when you have to clean all of the mud up from everywhere, but if can look past some of the downfalls, Sunshine is an astonishing game. It’s like Super Mario 64’s gameplay, mixed in with some very unique places like Delfino Plaza. This time, instead of collecting stars, like in Super Mario 64, you collect shine sprites which are basically the same thing, but look different. Some of the levels are extremely unique, and can be a blast to play. Some consider Sunshine to be a better game than Mario 64, but I don’t think so. But, Sunshine is still an unbelievable game with some addicting gameplay, and should go down as an instant classic.

#3: The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask - Nintendo 64 (Gamespot score: 8.3)
    Posted Image

Like many people say, “It’s Zelda,” so it has to be good. And not only is Majora’s Mask a ‘Zelda’, it’s one of the best Zelda’s ever created. Giving Majora’s Mask an 8.3 is about as stupid as giving Superman 64 a 2.0, it’s just not very smart. Majora’s Mask took what made Ocarina of Time so special, and put it with a unique twist. Not only is the game far more difficult, but it’s now far more different. You have a 3 day time limit before the moon hits a town called Clock Town. If you don’t want to die from this massive thing, you must play the song of time, and return to the Dawn of the First Day. You have to beat every temple within this time limit, or you will have to do it again. Once you play the song of time, you lose all of your things like Arrows, Rupees, and Bombs. But don’t worry, you don’t lose your special items like Masks and equipment, and you can also store rupees at the bank. Majora’s Mask is definitely one of the best Zelda’s to date, and also simply one of the best games ever created.

#2: Super Smash Brothers: Melee - Gamecube (Gamespot score: 8.9)
    Posted Image

What’s not to like about Super Smash Brothers: Melee? You can be pretty much any Nintendo character you want, and you can put them up against any other Nintendo character you can think of. Melee is the sequel to one of the best N64 games, Super Smash Bros. What has changed from Smash to Melee was almost anything you can think of. Nintendo put a lot of hard work into this game, and it turned out to be a classic, then second you turn it on. From the fast paced gameplay, to the astonishing soundtrack, Melee is a masterpiece. If you don’t have any friends, then maybe this isn’t the kind of game for you, but playing it with at least 3 other people, makes it one of the best multiplayer experiences ever, period.

#1: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Wii/Gamecube (Gamespot score: 8.8 Wii, 8.9 Gamecube)
    Posted Image/Posted Image

Like many Fanboys were enraged about, Gamespot decided to let a man named Jeff Gerstman - who hates every bit of Nintendo and the Wii - review one of the most anticipated games ever to come out. What he said was ‘Zelda never evolves’, and this totally makes sense because Halo evolves right? [/sarcasm] But seriously, Twilight Princess is a love letter to anyone that like Zelda games, or has even played an adventure game. Twilight Princess truly is one of the best games ever created and to not even give it in the 9.0’s is an insult to Nintendo, and an insult to Nintendo’s fan base. Twilight Princess takes what the Wind Waker took from Ocarina of Time/Majora’s Mask and turned it into one of those things were you say, “this couldn’t have been any different.” This game is truly an epic adventure. Maybe not as epic as Ocarina of Time, or the Wind Waker, but it was still mighty epic. With the new realistic looks of the characters, to the giant Hyrule field, to the massive dungeons, Twilight Princess has become one of the best games ever. Some say it’s not the best Zelda, which may be true, but to say this isn’t an epic masterpiece is an insult.

It was released before Editor's Choice came about, I believe. Gamespot rated it a 10.0 on their site though.

Gamespot needs to die. I don't even think they play the games through. They gae Super Swing Golf for the Wii a 6.6 because of the putting controls. Even though it's the same as the online version of PangYa!'s controls. They are a disgrace.

    Everyone play PangYa!
    There is only one truth!

    Best thing ever!

Uh, Editor's Choice are a 9.0 rating or above. So techniaclly, Ocarina of Time would have gotten one.

    Thanks everyone. :)

    And this is bad why?

He gave it 88%! That's a bad score now?

Stop being such a sanctimonious tool. The rest of the internet got over it months ago.

Jesus Christ, I hate when you people do this. Did I ever say that the 8.8 was a bad score? Hell no, I never said that. Do I think it deserves better, though? Yes, I do. I have never in my life said, anywhere, ever, that 8.8 was a bad score. Yet people assume I think that an 8.8 is a bad score because I think Twilight Princess deserves a 9.0 or higher rating. Ridiculous.

Why did you assume that was being angry? I was simply, not being angry. You've just made me angry, if that's what you wanted. I was just stating my case. I have gotten over it now, I'm not a god damn retard, but for some odd reason I can't even say that the game deserves a better *censored* score? Damn, you guys can piss me off sometimes.
