Plus, poeple have to line up if they want a PS3, seeing as the only have 400,000 units in America.

Yeah, pretty much. I heard the number of units sony is shipping to North America has gone down. This way it looks like it's a hot item. People want hot items, don't they?

    PS3: 400,000
    Wii: 1,000,000

    do the math

and microsoft already has a huge lead, they will still be number 1 this year, followed by nintendo, with the PS3 in an upset loss. ;)

edit: to be fair, that's the estimate for north america.

It's only becuase they had problems producing enough Blue-ray drives, as soon as that gets sorted out I'm sure it will do much better.
But I think that Sony may do better than the 360 simply becuase M$ is still having a lot of problems with overheating 360's and as of yet the only problem with the PS3 is that theres not many and they don't play every ps2 and ps1 game, big whoop I'm buying the systems so I can play ps3 games not ps2 and ps1 games.
It doesn't really matter which one wins regardless becuase there are going to be plenty of each system bought and none are going to fail miserably.

Ok I live in an area where everyone hates Nintendo, loves Microsoft and Sony. There were only 13 people who showed up for PS3 launch for the 10 units, 10 got em, 3 didn't. There are 20 wii units and I got there, being the 21st person(life sucks, eh?), and I wasn't the last, another 10 people came before we got that only 20 were left was verified. I think Wii has a shot.

People didn't show up for the PS3 because they knew there weren't many. Also because it sucks a**.
The Wii had more, and rules, no matter where you live.

Aren't you being nice and insane today?

Try playing the consoles before you make any judgements, genius.

I've gotta say that logistically it's looking pretty awful for Sony on the Europe front. Nintendo's won a lot of supporters of the "touch generation" with their DS whilst the Sony PSP is a relative flop over here. Also considering the fact that the PS3 is launching sometime in march over here in the old country whilst the Wii is scheduled for 8th December then Nintendo's got not only the christmas shopper hype season nailed but it's also got a 4 month head start.
