The Curious Incident of the dog in the Night Time was awesome. Although it doesn't say so in the book, Stu-J is right, the boy in it does have Autisim. A very serious case, actually. Books. Ah, I like the Series of Unfortunate events. I've been reading it since 1999. Funnily enough, before the movie I was that "Weird kid who read gothic books" and now, after the movie I'm "Trying to fit in by reading SOUE". Cornelia Funke. Anyone heard of her? She's a German author and one of her books - Inkheart - could possibly be the best book I've ever read. Harry Potter! One of the few wildly popular things that is actually any good. Harry Potter is awesome. |

I haven't read the book, but most Autistic people cannot interact with people very well, and like to be alone pretty much. Some are very creative and have awesome memory. Some look a bit off too. Different kinds of Austism though. |

I have a mild form of Autisim called Aspergers. I apparently have limited social abilities but I have highly advanced visual spacial thinking and mathematical skills. Whatever that means. |

I don't know why, but I really dislike novels, and most fiction in general. Admittedly, I do enjoy Shakespearean tragedies (I'm a masochist), but beyond that... meh, fiction is shite. If I have to read something, it'll be non-fiction. I quite like reading into history... and that's probably just about the only thing that can hold my attention for very long. |

Fantasy, Sci-Fi, or really anything that's both fictional and not realistic is great by me. A couple of my favorite series are the Inheritance trilogy (a.k.a. Eragon) and the Lord of the Rings series. Some time back I used to be into the Redwall series as well, but...

Those books? Did you know the thirteenth one, The End, finally came out? Well, I read the first eleven, then I got twelve, I read up to chapter 9, and then quit. I figure I will restart sometime soon, and then finish the last one, but after the eighth one, they all started to suck. The eighth one was the best, and then the seventh one. Lemony Snicket gets way too off topic about some things that are not even true. Come on! I am reading this book to entertain myself, not hear the author beg me not to read it. Plus, who's luck is that bad? I will finish all of them one day, but just not now. I want to finish the twelfth one so badly, so I can just get it out of my system, but they all suck now, and I do not even think I would have the patience to do so. I like reading the Harry Potter series. My favorite is Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire, then Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, then Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets. The other three are too hard to determined, but I am pretty sure the fifth is my least favorite. The last one hundred pages were very exciting, but the first eight hundred was just a waste of time that could have been spent on something more entertaining... such as video games. Or I could help the world, and blah, blah, blah.

My tastes are pretty eclectic as far as reading goes. Non-Fiction? History- 20th century. Stuff relevant to the world we know today. Political texts. Anything that lets me learn about the relevant things in the world- not obscure philosophical, scientific or mathematical points. Fiction? Political fiction (Orwell etc), some Fantasy, Sci-Fi occasionally (Arthur C. Clarke and Isaac Asimov're not too bad), Romance (Jane Eyre etc). Anything, really. Phillip Pullman's a favorite of mine. |

science fiction, its a good mix of fic and non fic. And @ Chopstix, i agree, most books aren't as good as they used to be... but if anyone likes Warhammer 40,000. Their books are the best i've ever read. James Swallow FTW |
