Lately I've been thinking a lot about music, what makes music good, what makes it popular, why do people like it. Well when I couldn't answer any of these questions I began to think of the idea of local music and the internet.

People we have a huge opportunity here, I mean we can share music, or eve just share advice on music to anyone with internet access in the world.

Local music, whereever local is to you, is an important part of music. I propose we use this thread to share music, from the local areas, countys, countries, towns, citys and even neighbourhoods. I don't think we need people posting Eminem, Justin Timberlake or Madonna, because that category of artist is widely known to all anyways.

No I would like to see local bands, artists, the whole shabang.

Not only will this allow us to influence others in the musical sense of the world, but also we could ineidvertingly make an artist a bit bigger.

    I'll get the ball rolling.

Foy Vance, is a young man, from Belfast (that's the capital of northern ireland) He is a guitarist, keyboard and harmonica player among other things. Recently he featured on the greys anatomy soundtrack, a major coup for an artist his size.

    I recommend the songs:

    Stoke my fire
    cross town traffic
    watermelon oranges
    gabriel and the vagabound

Here is a link to a live session in america, Linkity!

*By the way, his accent is what mine sounds like*
