How many games do you own for each Nintendo system?

Me, for N64, I HAD about 40...But then brother started trading them all for game cube games. And for Gamecube I have about 30. ^^

I had about 20 for N64, still have 20+ PS1 games, used to have 30+ Mega Drive games (guess they were cheap when I bought them), still have 10 Gameboy games I think?, just 4 GBA games, currently 4 DS games, 15 GC games, 12 PS2 games (both are just guesses), 15+ PC games (old and newish) and I used to have some Sega System games but not a clue how many. Those are all estimates but I don't think you need to know the exact amounts. :D
    ...

Yeah pretty sigs and all that

Ho yeah, because the 10 or so good titles that the N64 had were [sarcasm]way better[/sarcasm] then the 50 odd stand out titles on the gamecube. Not to mention how the N64 only had a few crappy ports aside from those games whilst the GCN only had exclusives on the Capcom 5 and various other amazing games.

name 50 great GCn titles. that you at least PLAYED, or OWN.

All I can tell you is that I have more 64 games than GCN games. THe 64 was a better system for me, I don't care what you think. So stfu smart ass.

and the GCN is a HUGE failure, compared with the Xbox and Ps2.
    ;)

The 64 was, comparitively, a far weaker system then the Gamecube. Not only was it difficult to produce for (The use of cartridges as apposed to disks alienated a lot of developers due to size constraints. Resident evil 2 was a technical miracle) it also featured difficult hardware (the playstation was able to play higher end graphically taxing games with no upgrades, the 64 required an expansion pack) as well as a radically different control system (Not only did the "arcade pad" alienate most people, it also made porting difficult due to the huge difference in button positions and qauntity).

However, looking at sales figures it would be possible for you to say that the N64 was more of a success then the gamecube, with the N64 selling 30 million units total and the gamecube only 20 million. However, a key element to consider is how the majority of the gamer demographic moved to the PS2 after seeing the success of the original playstation system. Quality was not an issue in this case, just reputation.

Regarding your issue of the N64 having a superior games library; it didn't. The console by the end of its lifetime only mustered 418 titles, with the inclusion of Japanese and European exclusives. The gamecube has over 700 titles available to it, and that's with roughly 30 still awaiting release.

Another issue is third party games. Whilst the majority of the games you list are nintendo in house productions a large selection of the gamecube's best titles are third party. These include

    1: Resident evil 4
    2: Super monkey ball
3: Prince of Persia: Sands of time
    4: Hitman 2: Silent assasin
    5: Soul Calibur 2
    6: lego star wars 2
    7: Eternal Darkness
    8: Burnout 2
    9: Ikaruga
    10: Metal Gear Solid
    11: Viewtiful Joe 1
    12: Viewtiful Joe 2
    13: Battalion wars
    14: Star wars Rougue leader
    15: Baiten Kaitos
    16: Tales of Symphonia
    17: Beyond good and evil
    18: Chibi Robo
    19: Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronichles
    20: Killer 7
21: Phantasy Star Online: Episode 1&2
    22: Skies of Arcadia Legends

And you want first party games? Well, we could go there, but, I think I've made my point.

Another issue was price. The Nintendo 64 was released at a price of $199 in the US upon launch, with an even higher cost in Europe (as always) the gamecube was released for exactly the same price. Which is a feat and a half considering not only inflation but the superior hardware used.

Also, Nintendo 64 games were expensive. As in, "way-to-exensive-for-kids(who the console was for)-to-buy" expensive. We're talking $60 a cartridge here. As apposed to the PSX's rarley exceeding $50. Which is, oddly enough the same price ( =P ) as a Gamecube game.
