Let's vote! So let's nominate the fifty toughest bosses, and then have a vote-off to see which one is really the hardest one.

I nominate the following bosses as the hardest bosses ever:

    1. The two little monkeys, and the big monkey from Glover: This was as hard as heck! Even with the cheat codes, I still could not beat them because it was impossible to retrieve your ball after you hit the monkey. They did not give you enough time. I beat every other boss, though, with cheats, I might add... But the third boss was so incredibly difficult that it ranks as number one on my list. I never beat him.

    2. Hag 1 from Banjo Tooie: The third best video game of all time has the second hardest boss of all time. That is right; Gruntilda put one heck of a fight up, and there were ten different challenges to test your skills in Banjo Tooie. I had a hard time beating this boss, but the humorous ending made this experience all worthwhile. I beat her.

    3. Sephiroth from Kingdom Hearts 2: At first, I thought this would just be another simple boss, but he really proved me wrong! Everything else in Kingdom Hearts could be beaten easily, even if it was on the hardest mode with the worst level(s) and item(s), but this really made Kingdom Hearts 2 look like a tough video game. It is so hard to dodge his attacks, and once you realize that you should wait until you get to level 99 to fight him again, you really will not care as much about beating him... He is still hard, though. I never beat him.

    4. Ash from Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver... Talk about difficult. Ash practically had every single one of his Pokemon in the nineties! If you did not have at least two Pokemon past level sixty, you were basically in trouble. Although I beat him, I did have a couple of frustrating moments where I just wanted to throw my GameBoy Advance to the ground and scream. If you had all your Pokemon in the seventies or higher, though, you were basically set... But I was not.

    5. The Black Knight from Fire Emblem: Path Of Radiance: The best video game of all time needs to have some hard bosses, and although some of the other enemies in this particular video game are challenging, this one is the most challenging, by far. Since only Ike and Mist are allowed to fight against this certain opponent, you are not able to use your best characters. I had my Ike at level 20: Lord, but my Mist was only, like, a Level 10: Clerge, or something like that, so it did not blow over too well. The only way you could beat this enemy is by being a really high level on both of those characters. Yes, this video game does require a lot of strategy, but since you are in such a small room with only three people, there is not that much strategy. It is either you have both of your characters maxxed out, and then do some things with your weapons, fighting, and walking around the room, or get owned by The Black Knight. The biggest disapointment was that I thought this fight would be a lot more dramatic, and I thought they were going to reveal more about The Black Knight, but that is a completely different subject.

So there are a lot of difficult bosses in every video game. There are so many, and I have played so little video games. I have heard that there are tons of almost impossible bosses in the Metroid video games, and after only completing the first level of Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime: Hunters, I am not surprised. Of course, I do not own an XBox, and I have not finished God Of War yet, either, so I have not experienced everything there is to experience. The frustration of the difficult levels in two dimensional (2D) video games orders my patience to run out and not fight any two dimesional (2D) bosses. I have played a lot of those two dimensional (2D) video games, but most of those bosses seem the same... Maybe I just play the wrong two dimensional (2D) video games, but judging from GameSpot's score on Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World, Wario Land II, Super Mario Deluxe, and other two dimensional (2D) video games, I do not think I am.

But enough about two dimensional (2D) video games... On to the difficult bosses! Oh, and any system counts.

    Nominees:

    1. The Monkey Boss from Glover.
    2. Hag 1 from Banjo Tooie.
    3. Sephiroth from Kingdom Hearts 2.
    4. Ash from Pokemon Silver and Pokemon Gold.
    5. The Black Knight from Fire Emblem: Path Of Radiance.

Oh, and this deserves to be in Nintendo HQ because General Nintendo is only about Nintendo...

And this is also a test to see something, I might add...

Well for me, the last bosses for both Mario & Luigi games were pretty hard.

M&LSS) Bowletta? Pretty easy. But Cackletta (2) starting with just 1 HP each is kind of tough...

M&LPIT) All three Princess Shroob forms, each with 3,000 HP (or more) without saving. You also cannot heal from form two to three. And all of their rapid almost-never-ending attacks really get your HP down. Took me a while, so I think it was one of the hardest RPG battles I had. (Then again I did not have many...)

All in their nineties? Really? I can't remember them being that high. But still, that was a piece of cake for me. :P Using poison and psychic Pokémon with a few ground and ghost attacks never seems to fail me.

Pikachu was level 81, the others in their 70's

I'd like to nominate Electro Specter from EarthBound. His sheild made him a real bitch.

Oh, and the bosses from Metroid/Prime/P2/Super were really tough. Ridley from Super, Omega Pirate from MP, Mutated Emperor Ing in MP2 and all of the bosses from the original.

Sure was... reflecting the default name given in the first game. Well, for Red version at least. But who cares about Blue version? To hell with Meowth, I say!

    Mutated Emperor Ing in MP2

    I second that.

and that...although it's really just unfair *censored* that makes it tough. (the starting with 1hp)

Shadow Link in Ocarina of Time can be a bitch...but he's only a sub-boss.

Whatever the name of the last boss in Golden Sun 2 was...was pretty tough.

I'll have to think about it a while before I come up with any others...Since I only have a GCN, and a crap computer, I've been in a game drought for a LONG time.

    Paul's dumb Alex is cool

Cackletta is pretty hard, but he only takes practice. I haven't played many games, but here's who I nominate:

Sephiroth from FF7 (that's if you don't go and level up all the time)
The thing from Perfect Dark(I played when I was 10, so all I know is that I couldn't beat him)
Evil Soma from Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow
    Ron Paul in '08

I disagree, I thought he was simple. A level 70 Pikachu, without a lightball? It sucks, I fainted it in one hit with my Steelix. Also, Venasaur, Charizard, and Blastoise I felt were pretty easy too since they have tons of weaknessess. Espeon and Snorlax I had trouble with, but not too much trouble. I just used Hitmontop on Snorlax, and then Umbreon on Espeon (ironic).

Pfft. I can kill him in 5 turns with the hammer copter including recovering and exposing the heart.

There's actually a really cool trick you can use on the mutated emperor ing in MP2:E. If you land a screw attack directly into it's mouth, you can take away up to 2/3 of it's health in one hit.

A speedrunner on the Metroid2002 forums then came up with this.

But still, it's a very hard boss.

    Yeah, sure.

Actually, summons are all you need. Unless, you really want to do it without summons...now, that is how Doom Dragon is hard.

But, who should deserve a nominee from GS/GS2 than Dullahan. Even through he was an optional boss, he was the hardest boss, even harder than Doom Dragon, who had the same HP (14,000 or 16,000, I believe it was).

Dullahan was hard on Easy Mode, Normal Mode and Hard Mode. Definatly should be a nominee.

Also, with Mutated Emperor Ing, definatly. It was so hard on Hard Mode...I just kept dying until I finally beat him.
