America never lost to Korea. It was a "tie". That's why there is a South Korea still. I believe it was the Vietnam war that we "lost" and that was only because the army had fabricated an attack on our own ship to incite the public. My history classes have failed me miserably. |

Well... that and the regime the US supported in South Vietnam was particularly corrupt and uncaring; the failure of the 'Hearts and Minds' campaign to win the support of the Vietnamese people (probably tying in with the amount of murder and burning down [Zippo Raids] of villages...) et cetera. Not to mention the very fact that to the US public, the Vietnamese war was a war in a far-off country that nobody really gave a good god damn about prior to the war, whereas to the people of Vietnam, it was a war to defend their homeland. But regarding North Korea, I think that a military strike by the US is not a viable option. Not only are US forces already committed in large numbers to killing people in the Middle East, but to invade an enemy possibly with the potential to use nuclear weaponry (remember: these tests are using solely North Korean developed technology- there's no telling if they possess foreign weapons) and with a very large conventional army would not be wise. What's more, the mountainous terrain of North Korea would prove extremely difficult to launch operations in, should the North Korean army decide to move it's own operations there.
There's such a thing as 'oversimplification', Ramen. "World War One began because Germany were bad!" |

I doubt it. According to the news last night, it seems that the test failed miserably. And even if it didn't, you're only in danger if you live in Japan or South Korea - just about the only places the weapons can reach. |

While America wastes time in the Middle East, North Korea will kill us all. |
| Power and wisdom seem to be WAY better than courage. It seems like Nintendo was running out of ideas even back then. | |
