Nowadays, a lot of games allow you to create your own character. PSO and THUG are just two examples, but pac-pix allows you to create you hero in a very different way. Instead of choosing different hats, clothes, and faces, you actually draw your character. and when he's created, he walks and eats!
Now that probably sounds a near-perfect recipe for a game, but unfortunately your hero must look like a circle with a wedge cut out. You still have some control over what he looks like though, as you canb draw lumps, holes, and, if you're REALLY good, a tail.

You have to draw him in exactly the right way- mouth first, then a clockwise circle for the head. It's a lot harder than it sounds, so it may take a few goes at first, but when he's created, the feeling of creation is amazing. As well as pac-man, you can draw arrows, which fire in the indicated direction, and bombs, which, when connected to a candle, explode. creating any of these objects feels good on its own, but the best part is when you use everything in the right way to get to, and defeat, the ghosts. It may seem easy in the first few stages: draw a pac man facing the ghosts, and chase them aroun. But by the time you're up to chapter 12, you have to shoot arrows at 4 switches to remove a wall, so you can shoot 3 ghosts from the top screen, then activate another switch, to light a candle, so you bombs can expose another ghost. then you must draw a pac man, and chase them all round the screen by drawing walls pac-main can bounce off. You have a limited time, and a limited amount of pac-men, so it can get very hard. A single chapter of 5 levels can take days to complete, and there's twelve chapters in a book, and 3 books!

However, you have to be verey patient if you want to complete them. I stopped playing altogether after the first book, because there was nothing new. apart from the unlockable cards (we all should know cards are the worst unlockable EVER), so really if you're looking for a game to entertain you for a few days, this is it. just be prepared to sell it a few weeks later. If you have months of spare time, and want a game that will last till the day you die, get animal crossing (it never ends, right?) Once you've completed it, the only time you'll pick it up again is when you are bored of all other games, or if you wnat to show a misled PSP fanboy what the DS can do.
