    Story/Plot

Long ago, a war between gods and demons (known as Ragnarok) erupted,
and the world was thrown into a state of chaos. Asgard, overrun by
demons, was on the brink of destruction. In desperation, the gods broke an
ancient taboo. Sacrificing their very lives, they created black-winged
reapers that came to be known as Grim Angels. Each wielding a godly
weapon known as a ?Diviner,? the angels entered battle... Through their
fierce resistance, the angels brought the war to an end. The demons were
sealed away, but the gods would soon follow. However, the gods were able
to leave behind their power in the heavenly isle of Riviera... They entrusted
this promised land to the inhabitants to watch over until their return....

One thousand years have passed since the gods? demise... Signs of the
demons? return have brought fear to this peaceful land. Without the gods,
    Asgard cannot withstand another war.

The game starts of with two Grim Angels, Ein and Ledah, along with Ein’s
familiar cat, Rose, on a mission to Riviera, which shows the return of
demons in this peaceful land. This is Ein’s first mission and yet has a lot to
learn. Rose teaches him some techniques that Ein will have to do in some
point in his journey. Ledah is more like the experienced or professional at this
and he will only be at Ein’s side in the beginning of the game.

As they go near the gateway to Riviera, the two Grim Angels confronts
Ursula, protector of Riviera, After the battle, Ursula disappears and takes Ein
hostage. Now Ledah will have to go on without Ein and complete the
mission. Fairies had found Ein, who knocked out cold. The Fairies told
Ursula about their findings, Ursula thinks that Ein maybe the chosen one with
a pure heart who will save the sacred land of Riviera.

I think the Storyline is very great and a good way to start an Epic Quest. Also
like other RPGs they are some funny, happy, and sad moments. That’s what
I like to find in a RPG game. So I shall give it a 9.0 for a great story line.

Ein planning to use his Double Slash Over Skill.

This game isn’t like other RPGs but it uses a unique item system, which you
just use a weapon you have found to battle or to use in an important event.
The way the characters level up is by using a weapon that they are good at
using and have to use an amount of times. By leveling up they get to learn
skills called Over Skills, which they can attack an enemy and can be very
powerful, you can’t just use Over Skills all the time, you have a bar on the
top left corner of the screen called an Over Drive Gauge. You can increase
the gauge in three levels by attacking an enemy or getting hit by an enemy, if
one of your character dies, the gauge will increase a level. Also there is some
certain characters that can learn Execution Level Skills, which is like an Over
Skill but it is very powerful to use and can cause your Over Drive Gauge to
break. I would use Execution Skills carefully if I were you. The Rage meter
located in the bottom right side of the screen, will increase an attack each
time you hit an enemy, but it can decrease if you are attacked by the enemy.
Once the meter is full it will not decrease in any way.

    Field/Over World Controls

Usually in RPGs you can move freely, but in Riviera it’s different. You see
you have to choose your destination by pressing the directional pad. You can
go anywhere in a level. A world is divided by sections where you must pass
through to fight some enemies complete the world. That is the controls for
Move Mode. You can press the A button and shift to Look Mode, this mode
is where you can look around an area you are in. You can look at triggers that
have a white color, there is also red triggers, but you will need TP, (which
stand for Trigger Points), you will need a certain amount of TP to open
treasure chests, solving puzzles and such. You can gain TP by winning
battles. By opening treasure chests or you go in an area, you might walk into
a trap, but you can escape a trap by using the controls as shown on the
screen, but if you failed to avoid a trap, it can affect your status.

Here’s an example of Look Mode.

I got the hang of the controls while listening to all the nagging that Rose was
explaining. Movement didn’t really bother me at all. I’ll rate this 8.5.

    Beautiful areas and creepy places.

The graphics look great. They are beautifully drawn well. They also show
Anime style art, (if you haven’t noticed from the images). Also when you
battle, the art gives the game like a classic look on old RPGs. I rate this 9.0,
    the graphics are great.

Looks like a powerful attack, what will Ein and party do?

    Audio
The music is great too. I especially loved the battle music because it fits
whatever type of boss you fight. The music in environments sounds well too,
it suits it well. This game has voice acting too, but you may think that the
characters look like little kids, but they are actually older, by the sound of
their voice. I’ll rate this 9.0, beautiful music I will always like to hear when I
    play.

    These are Ein's status.

    Overall

This game is a great RPG. You shouldn’t believe other articles or reviews
that have has a negative comment. If you are a fan of RPGs, this is the game
for you. The staff of Team Mushroom Evolution thinks it’s a wonderful Role
    playing game.

    Overall score 9.0

I heard this is a great game with a new thing with the battles and story but! it was only good the first time because it loses its value tremendously when you know the story.

Great review, overall i give it a 9.9/10 (eheh nothings perfect)

I agree, I got this game when it first came out a couple months ago, and it's a very refreshing RPG. Anyone with a GBA or DS needs to go pick it up.
