Donkey Konga -A review by DiddyKongDude ![]() Well, I decided to make a review on one of my favorite games. I hope this will help some people decide whether to buy this game or not. I will rate this game in 5 categories, and an overall rating. The categories are sound, graphics, gameplay, replayability, and multiplayer.I chose to review this game because it is so innovative, with the bongo controller. It has a selection of 33 songs to play along to. So here, I start my review. Sound This game is a musical game, so of course it has some great audio. It has a list of 33 songs, which are fun to play at first, but leave you wishing for more. There is a variety of different bongo sounds, so whenever you hit the bongo, a different sound will come out. An example of this is the Mario bongo set. It makes noises from Mario games such as coins. All of them are different, and add to the overall sound. They are bought with DK Coins which can be won from 1-player mode. The sound in this game is great, but not the best I've heard. ![]() Sound Rating - 9/10 Graphics The graphics in this game are very well done. There are no big flaws that I have noticed in this game yet. All of the animations are done nicely. ![]() Graphics Rating - 9.5/10 Gameplay Gameplay in this game is very fun and addicting. What makes the gameplay in this game so great is that it's very easy to pick up and play. Red notes mean you hit the left bongo, yellow notes mean you hit the right bongo, pink notes mean you hit both, and blue notes mean you clap. This may seem easy, but in gorilla mode, it can be very hard! I've spent hours practicing on gorrilla mode, because some of the songs are insanely hard to pass. This makes it even more enjoyable to play. You can also unlock minigames, which are entertaining but not that great. You must buy them. To buy them, you need to win DK Coins. You get these by playing in Street Performance mode. DK Coins are also used to buy different bongo sets. The only downside to the gameplay department is the amount of songs. It would be much funner if you could unlock more songs. 33 just wasn't enough for me. ![]() Gameplay Rating - 8.5/10 Replayability Replayability in this game is obviously very high. You will be playing this game for months to come. It challenges you to get a high amount of DK Coins to buy a variety of different things. This motivates you, and I found myself playing this game deep into the night. Plus, there is a multiplayer mode, which I will mention next. ![]() Replayability Rating - 9/10 Multiplayer Multiplayer in this game is great. It supports up to 4 players. It is very fun, but, there are some bad things about multiplayer. Whenever one person claps, it claps on all people's bongos, unless you clap very quietly. Also, unless the other people use Gamecube controllers, you must buy a bongo for everyone, which can cost you $15-$20 a piece. Other than that, multiplayer is a blast. ![]() Multiplayer Rating - 8.5/10 Overall: 8.9/10 I hope this review has told everyone enough about this game. It took me a while to write this post, and I hope it has enough information about the game.
