"Skeeter... Skeeter... ah! There we go," Tara said with a smile. She had found the book that she was looking for. She reached up to the book shelf in front of her and took the book off. After she had successfully gotten a hold of the book entitled "The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore" by Rita Skeeter, she turned back the way she had come. Coming from behind the large shelf, she saw the customer standing by the cash register and hurried over there as best as she could.

"Here you are, miss," Tara said with a smile as she handed the book over to the elderly woman.

"Oh, thank you very much, deary," the kind woman said with what looked like a smile appearing behind the bull dog like jowls hanging along her cheeks.

"You're very welcome. Let me just ring that up for you." Tara remembered the price of this particular book. It was still quite popular even after coming out quite some time ago, back when she was only around 2 years old.

"That'll be 2 galleons, miss." The old woman rummaged through her coin pouch, looking for the right amount of change. As she did this, Tara looked around. They weren't too busy today, she thought.

Just as that thought crossed her mind, the bell above the door rang to signify that someone came into the store. Her smile widen when she saw who it was. After collecting the money from the old woman and placing it in the register, she moved around the counter and hurried over, giving him a hug.

"Leo! I haven't seen you in ages!"

Leo's thoughts swirled as he wrapped his arms around Tara, enjoying her embrace. He inhaled deeply, intoxicated by the familiar scent of her perfume. A few years had passed, but just as before, Leo lost himself in her presence. There was nothing that could make him happier than to see her again.

"Tara! I missed you so much, I've just returned from Ireland and I've managed to get a job down at the Leaky Cauldron already!" He said as they broke apart, "The first thing I did as soon as I found out you were working here was rush to see you!"

"Aww, that was sweet of you. So how long have you been in Ireland? It seems like it's been forever since 7th year..." she said. Noticing that the sitting area was empty, she took a hold of his wrist and brought him over to the two comfy arm chairs that resembled the ones from the Gryffindor common room. Taking the one closest to where they had been before walking over, she situated herself so that she was facing the seat that would soon be occupied by her best friend from her days in Hogwarts.

"Tell me about your trip. Did you enjoy it?"

Leo could feel his pale skin begin to glow pink. She really was as glad to see him as he was to see her. He had missed her so much while he was away, his journal was filled with letters he had written to her, but had lacked the courage to send. Tara had always ment so much to him, his best friend. And he wished desprately that he could be brave enough to tell her how he really felt. Maybe someday soon? They were of course working pratically next door now!

She grabbed his wrist, Leo enjoyed her touch, they walked together to the soft velvet seats, they looked astonishingly similar to the Gryffindor common room. The crimson cushions reminded him of better times in the halls of Hogwarts. He longed for those days again, free of the dangers of adulthood. But having Tara back in his life was even better.

"Ireland was amazing, beautiful, I'll take you there someday." Leo said, as he remembered the windy moors and ancient castles. He wanted to bring Tara there in the future, he knew she would enjoy it. "I spent about six months up there, the marauders and I were recruited by the ministry to help with a few rumored dark uprisings."

Tara smiled while Leo talked. It was good to hear his voice again, she didn't realize how much she would miss it. When he spoke of the dark uprisings, she nodded a bit.

"Yeah, Peter told me something about that... were you in any danger?" she questioned, a note of worry in her voice and it was also evident in her facial expressions.

"We were involved in a few battles, nothing major, but I'm glad I paid attention in Defense Against the Dark Arts all those years!" Leo said, chuckling a bit, he could tell that she was concerned about him, and he didn't want her to be too worried. "Once we got back the minister contacted me, he said in a few years the four of us may be able to become Aurors, I guess he was impressed with what we did."

Leo shifted uncomfortably in his chair, she said his name. Leo was never one to hold a grudge, the fights that they had back in Hogwarts were history. But there was always something that he didn't like about him. Something that just wasn't right, or that he was hiding. And Leo really was concerned about him doing something to hurt Tara, that was something he just couldn't let happen.

"So you still, um, talk with Peter?" he said quietly.

Tara heard the disappointment in Leo's voice when he asked his last question. She knew that he never really liked Peter, but she was friends with both of them and she wasn't going to choose one over the other.

"Yeah, I talk with him. He works here, actually. Should be coming back from his lunch break in a little bit and then I can go and we can talk over lunch," she told him with a smile.

Almost as a cue, the bell over the door rang once more and Peter came into the store, carrying a small bag in his right hand. Placing the bag onto the little side table by the door, he removed his snow dusted coat and brushed it off of the brown material as well as brushing off of his hair. He looked around when he didn't see Tara at her position.

"Tara? You still here?" he called out, not hearing much movement besides a few customers that he could see closer to the front of the store. Skimming the shelves, he finally caught sight of her red hair and smiled, walking over towards where she was sitting.

"Hey Tara, I brought you back a..." Peter's voice faded off when his eyes landed on the raven-haired boy sitting next to Tara.

"Leo," he acknowledged his former school enemy, a chilling look emanating from his eyes.

Leo gave him a small smile ,cleared his throat and muttered: "Hello Peter, its been a while."

And Leo had been hoping to keep it that way. Peter looked relatively the same as before, but Leo could sense something was drastically different about him that didn't show in his appearance. He caught his gaze, keeping eye contact for a good amount of time, searching for whatever it might be. When he found nothing, he quickly looked away back at Tara who was looking increasingly uncomfortable due to the tension between the two men.

Leo stood and extended his hand to Tara. "Hey Red, how about we go get some coffee? My treat." He said, winking at her. His old nickname for her felt good when he said it, like a cool drink. The name originated so many years ago and was forever stuck, it was refreshing to use it again

Tara's attention was diverted from Peter and back over to Leo. In the few moments that had just passed, he had stood up and offered her his hand. She gave him a small smile and took it, standing up with a bit of his help.

"That sounds good... I am on break now, after all," she said with a small hint of a giggle behind her words. She turned to face Peter. "You can take care of the shop on your own, right?" When she received a nod in response, she began to walk towards the front door.

Leo smiled warmly, clasping his hand in Tara's as they walked out into the brisk winter day. The snow bit at his face and the wind whipped Tara's hair every which way. He squeezed her hand as he removed his wand from his pocket. Leo pointed it at a rather large stone and with a swish of his wrist and small incantation turned the grey stone into a dark green knit cap. He lifted the hat out off the ground and handed it to Tara. The green stood out against her beautiful red hair, and highlighted her dynamic brown eyes.

Tara looked at him and smiled when she saw the knitted cap. Her head was starting to get cold and she had forgotten to grab her scarf when she was back in the shop before the left. She grabbed the cap and placed it onto her head, her hair fitting underneath of it and some cascading from the bottom to fall onto her shoulders.

"Thanks," she told him with that usual smile she gave. Finally, they reached the small coffee shop that was only a few shops down from the book store, right by Ollivanders. She smiled and gave a wave inside to the old wandmaker before going into the warmth of the shop.
