Quassy's Splash Away Bay Waterpark To Get Supercharged For 2018 Splash Away Bay waterpark at Quassy Amusement Park here will get "supercharged" for the 2018 season, park officials announced today, the single-largest investment in the park's history.Three new gigantic water raft rides with a combined length of more than 1,000 feet will be constructed during the offseason, bringing to 15 the number of slides in the lakeside complex. "We're thrilled that we can start the project later this summer and have it completed for the waterpark's opening next year," said park President Eric Anderson. In addition to the new slides, Quassy will also construct Splash Away Bay Cafe & Deck overlooking Lake Quassapaug. Guests at Quassy Beach and the waterpark will be able to purchase food and beverages at the cafe and enjoy rooftop seating. Big Thrills On The New Slides The new slides will be provided by ProSlide Technology, Inc., of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. ProSlide was the vendor for the existing 12 slides at the attraction, which was first introduced in 2003 as Saturation Station. The project will be located in an area now occupied by picnic tables on the north side of the property. The largest of the three giant slides will be a TantrumTWIST, also known as TORNADO, which will accommodate two-person rafts. The patented funnel shape flushes riders up the TANTRUM walls, oscillates each tube multiple times and generates the suspended-weightlessness sensation that is unique to ProSlide funnel rides. After dropping into the funnel, riders are swept up the wall to the equator line, which is actually perpendicular to the ground. The ride creates the illusion of going over the edge and keeps even the craziest thrill enthusiasts returning for more. Two gigantic PIPEline serpentine slides will round out the three-ride attraction. The new slides will all depart from one platform and conclude in runoff troughs near Saturation Station. The PIPEline slides are designed for single our two-rider rafts. Source: Amusment Today |

True, but they are more wild slides and they aren't going as overboard as SFNE dose with their adds. To this point the slides have been pretty simple so I don't think they are going overboard with the statements. I think these will be great slides for them and really step up the water park. They can't beat LC and SFNE in size but they are definitely beating them on uniqueness. |

Thats true. It really is a big step for them. They are beating SFNE in my opinion. |

I agree it's a small water park but the slides are very unique. While SFNE's water park is big nearly every slide is an off the shelf addition. LC has a few more unique additions but also has a number of of the shelf attractions. Quassy do to space and height requirements has been forced to think outside of the box. |

These slides look like a lot of fun and the park has that dining area for the water park they announced but haven't built so I'm guessing that project will be done as well. |

If he hasn't heard about it, then why is he reading a newspaper article about it. He may just be chilling and already has plans to go to Volcano Bay. |

OK, you're refereeing the first show. I don;t think the news paper is about the new attraction. it's more he is lounging in the lake instead of having a good time on the new slides. |

Ok, so we don't really know what hes reading. But it would be funny if that newspaper happened to have the new waterslide featured. Lounging in the lake can be considered having a good time. It may not be as thrilling, but different strokes for different folkes. I personally am becoming more attached to relaxing and enjoying nature than going out to theme parks all the time, though that doesn't mean I am gonna stop going there. |

Bigger thing is that scene was filmed at their own beach. Probably should have did the show with the same guy in a kiddie pool |

Well wouldn't the new waterslides be in plane sight then? I have to agree that would be funnier. Even funnier is if he was acting like a little kid splashing things around. Or better yet, also make him fat and smelly, and even smoking and drinking. |

Imdont think they want that sort of image associated with the park. I wouldn't expect Quassy to do what canobie did and ship a crew and a tub to the Caribbean to film the beginning of their water park commercial. |
