I dislike these VR Gimmicks. I feel The parks SLC inverted coasters are better coasters for the tech over using top coasters like Superman. But this mixed reality is stupid. I get the camera use in the station. That way guests can see the safety check. but why use it on the lift and brake run. It basically means you are only getting VR on half the coaster's ride time.

Wow, Six Flags is adding three Justice League dark rides this year. While they do look like great rides, i dont know if it is such a good idea to have all the Six Flags parks start having the same exact dark ride.

They could at least have different layouts, and slightly different themes.

I believe there are some slight differences to the layout but it's virtually the same rooms. Given they are video driven they could easily upgrade the attraction and change them up in the future. I do agree That they don't need that specific dark ride in every park. but the same layout could be used for different themed dark rides.

So are they going to disable the tilt on the ride. Why keep up all those hydraulics if you're never going to see the ground. Their goes the good capacity of that ride.

Unfortunately, this is the typical money sucking move Six Flags does. I don’t know if they will disable the tilt or not, but if they do for the sake of not looking down it would be pointless, since people are going to look down anyways.

They found a gimmick and they are using it. Not long ago it was turning coaster trains around to run them backwards. back in the 90's it was the revolving coasters.

Well apparently Six Flags thinks the VR spider drop for Over Georgia was a success, so they are now adding VR on Zumanjaro at GADV.......

This is interesting.

Only thing though is that I highly doubt a Six Flags waterpark in Florida would survive for very long.

The water World purchase was a few years ago and they have yet purchase any further parks. I could see them buying a water park to get into a market since you could gt in for 20-30 million but a park even a small one would likely fetch 4-5 times that amount.

All the parks he listed are owned by CNL Lifestyle Properties. Funny thing is the water park in FL as well as most of what he was talking about are technically owned by SF by connection. they are mostly managed by Premeir parks LLC The same group that used to manage SFI form the late 90's to early 2o00's.

Sweet. Though SFNE was one of the first parks to get a water coaster.

Its actually "one of a kind". But that can be easy to miss since that part is already near the end.

I also get what there trying to say, but they didn’t specify what exactly makes it one of a kind. If they said LIM water coaster, or bowl turn water coaster, it would have made more sense.

But thats Six Flags for ya.

Pretty much. that's why SFNE is advertising Hurricane Harbor as New England largest free admission water park or Free water park. without the free it's not correct

SFI has had 2 trends the most noticeable is the cookie cutter rides. another trends goes back to the 90's SFI and that's the coaster swap were the park had a coaster which they kept for a few years before they were taken down and relocated to another park.

When the park had only 9 parks having a few similar coaster like the batman inverted was not a bad thing. it took a complete day to visit for some people and it was unlikely that you would visit another park. But with the premier purchase of SFI and the preceding Flagging there are are parks on top of parks and the Cloned additions end up having more impact.

Before the summer season even arrives Galactic Attack, the VR experience on Mind Eraser, at SFNE has been canceled. I will have to look into other locations.

Six Flags New England e-mail announcement

Last Chance to Ride Galactic Attack Virtual Reality Coaster is June 11
Earlier this spring we introduced a new virtual reality experience on Mind Eraser. If you haven't experienced it yet, now is your last chance! Galactic Attack Virtual Reality Coaster goes away on June 11.

Using Samsung Gear VR powered by Oculus, you'll enter a cosmic wormhole and engage in a battle to save the planet from attacking alien drones. The complex gameplay puts you in charge to shoot targets, earn points, and make key decisions along the way to affect your score at the end. Take one last ride on this exclusive virtual adventure before we take the headsets away and it turns back into regular Mind Eraser.

Just FYI, we do have a separate thread for SFNE. http://s6.zetaboards.com/New_Whalom_Park/topic/10009400/2/#new

I believe it was their plan to end it on June 11 the whole time. It is part of the marketing scheme they are using.

We do have the SFNE thread but this was a 2017 announcement. So it's fine here.

I think it was a waist of money if the plan was to only run it for a few weekends. It took around 12 employees to operate the attraction. Only 1/3rd of the people going into the attraction even wanted to do it so it was a bust.

Well heres the latest update about that incident.

http://www.theepochtimes.com/n3/2262847-human-error-to-blame-in-girls-fall-from-six-flags-ride-in-new-york/

Turns out the girl just stupidly decided to release the restraint and get herself in trouble for no reason. *facepalm*

Get ready folks, as there are about to add seat belts to the ride. At least this didn’t happen at a Cedar Fair skyride attraction. Otherwise I would have been infuriated!

Not surprised. From what I hear the Sky Ride at TGE is reopened with bit more mettle on the restraints. I would imaging there would be a way to put a small switch lock on the side of the car that could be released by the attendant but make it difficult for a rider to pull the bar up.

At least Canobie hasn't shut theirs down given it's virtually the same model.

Well the TGE skyride is back up and running now.

Also I have been hearing a rumor that Six Flags signed a deal with Skyline attractions so that they will become the first chain/parks to have one of these things in North America.

I would love to see that ride at Canobie.

I'm surprised it took them this long. Though Personally I feel Georgia Cyclone is the better of the parks 2 wood casters. Great American Scream Machine is OK but nothing great. With SFI starting to announce closures It's getting to be about time to write form 2017 coverage to 2018.

Not really a Six Flags park, but some of the themeing they use makes it look like a Six Flags park.

So heres what this park is getting.

That coaster looks wild. I agree the themeing is a bit simple but the coaster looks amazing.
