Aussie bats can transmit rabies (and other viruses) to humans as well. remember reading about an Australian woman who died that way. it's rare but is more than enough reason not to want them in your home. if they are outside where they belong i have no problem with them. inside they become a threat to both me and my pets. and yeah last summer there was bat shit all over the window ledge from them roosting in the wall.

Well bats around the world can transmit rabies, I just don't know of how big a problem they are in Australia. The insect eating kind of bat are actually beneficial to have around (outside, not in the house). |

fruit bats are also benefical, as pollinators. bats are actually fairly awesome little animals 99% of the time. |

yeah my arms muscles are prone to injury and i've had particular trouble with the right one due at least in part to spending too much time on the comp. got to the point recently where i had to stop using the computer altogether for a few days. which was just as well cuz it was too hot to use it anyway. |

Puny arms detected. You need to pump some iron, preferably while listening to Manowar. |

Hmm, I suppose these kind onf injuries/problems will be on the rise as computers become more ubiquitous in everyday life. I imagine smartphone finger will become a problem too... |

weird thing happened to me last night. went into a fast food place... and got good service. that is a pretty rare event these days. the girl was polite and friendly, and gave me an intelligent answer to my question. the she handed me my food with a smile the moment it was up. i was pleasantly surprised. huh, weird. |
