I really enjoyed the strip up until the leader died...after that I just stopped having fun reading it for the most part.

yeah it took over 200 strips and i don't know how much real time, but Roy is back. i'm not a huge Roy fan, but it was good to get him back.

the problem is, Burlew keeps drawing out (literally!) these side quests, and at 2-3 strips per week it just takes forever to get through them. and even after publishing a book called "Don't Split the Party" he keeps doing just that. Roy and Belkar are still being held as gladiators, and we haven't seen anyone but Elan for several strips now. and Elan sucks. :gina:

meh, i still like Belkar and Haley, and i'll still read the strips, but OOTS is not what it once was.

Yeah I figured Roy would get better, but I think I left about 100 or so strips into Roy being dead.

that was about where the strip started to struggle. after the Azure City arc, the party split into two groups (or 3 if you count Roy in the afterlife) and they were split for a LONG time, with the strips alternating between the groups. this meant that you wouldn't see some characters for weeks or even months, and you lost the party dynamics that made the strip fun to read. Then when Roy finally got resurrected, they were not together very long before this current split happened. and who knows how long it will be before they get back to the main story. meh.

TBH, I tend to not read OotS for a few weeks at a time, I find it better reading it in big chunks.

heh yeah, when i first found the strip they were at around ~500 or so and i read them in 3 days. that was a bit of a marathon but it was fun. i have the RSS, so i can see whenever a new one pops up, but it is somewhat less exciting at the pace of one strip every few days. i could let them pile up that way, but at the rate Burlew writes, i might well forget what was happening by the time he got a decent sized block of strips posted. ;)

I read in chunks too but it ultimately didn't help.

Yeah, the dragging-on-ness is what I stopped reading it for...
