I'm reading "A Pillar of Iron" by Taylor Caldwell. It's an old book, but an excellent read on the life of Cicero. Taylor Caldwell is an fantastic author. I have yet to read a book by her that I didn't find riveting. I thank my mother whole heartedly for recommending the book. |

I think he was a very modest man, much loved by the people because of his love for his country. He was a man of principle all his life. I found it intriguing that one of his dearest friends was also his enemy. Julius Caesar. They were boyhood friends and it remained all through their lives although they stood at opposite poles. Where Caesar wanted power and plotted to attain it all his life, regardless of cost (to not only his country but with lives) Cicero sought to save the Republic on which his country was formed. Well anyway, I guess that is enough. You could read it and form your own views.

Cicero didn't plot murders. There was one man who he hated and would have killed outright in a fair duel, and that was Catalina. But Julius, no... although according to his letters to one of his friends, he'd foreseen Julius' murder by his own son. |

Currently reading Glliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift. The problem with unabridge classics is that it is hard to read as language changes overtime, so some words deviate in meanings but its ok still. But the plot is so slow going, and it's like a memoir so it makes it even slower. But it should be a good read...I hope |

Currently reading Necrophenia by Robert Rankin. Rankin is pretty hilarious, and currently the only author whose novels I actively seek out whose initials aren't T.P. |

I totally had Tito Puente in the pool. I've been working my way through the last of the Earl Derr Biggers books although I haven't started the last one yet (as I've been distracted by shiny objects). |
