He's not for everyone, but a lot of people consider him to be one of the main bridges from Poe to modern horror (he was a fan of Poe and Lord Dunsany, as well as Machen, Blackwood and Hodgson) |

Read through "The Whisperer in the Darkness" by Lovecraft. The protaganist is either the smarted dumb person or the dumbest smart person in a horror story. Not sure which. |

Yeah, they are definitely not for guys, they're not really for me, either, the teenage angst is annoying the hell out of me, but i'm sticking with it for some reason. |

Not for me either. I got rather fed up with Bella on a number of occasions. But I loved Jacob.. oh my oh my. And... ahem.... Ace read them. All. Didn't like them though. I think he just read them because they take place here. |

I guess it'd be more accurate to say he didn't think they were as good as all the hype they get. The books weren't 'bad', just not of the same caliber that he, and I for that matter, normally read. Iow, you can tell they're written for the teen mind. But there are parts where it is really good... personally, I loved all the parts about Jacob Black. He was by far my very favorite. And Alice. No, trust me, Ace's man card is quite secure.

Oh yes, painfully misunderstood, lovesick and hard done by teenage girl, and a bunch of totally emo vampires, particularly the dreadfully angsty Edward. |

Yeah, Angel was such a whinger. Finished New Moon and taking a break from Emo vampires (and Emo werewolves and Emo teenagers) and reading Lost Symbol, the new Dan Brown book. |

Currently reading: Elric of Melnibone. Wanted to read it for years and after Mass Effect Revelations and Ascension (the latter being poo, the former not bad at all) I really fancied something with more mature writing ![]() Thoroughly enjoying it. In the last few chapters and find the world Mr Moorcock created to be deep, interesting and exciting ![]() Gonna grab the next in the series as soon as I can
