I thought it was pretty good - very watchable despite a number of problems that exist within the plot (which I think exist partially just because of how things had to be to make the sci-fi allegory the filmmakers were going for). Still a diverting sci-fi actioner with something to say even with its flaws. |

Went to see this with my dad yesterday. I'd say it was worth seeing. You mind clarifying what problems you saw with the plot Amentep? I'm not sure just what points you are referring to. |

I can't tell if we have a real spoiler mode or not, so here goes: SPOILERS Specifically why does MNU allow the Nigerians free reign at District 9 when it seems like that what they're trying to achieve and what the Nigerians are doing are at odds; District 9 is under martial law...so why allow the Nigerians to stay? If it took Christopher 20 years to gather all the fluid he needs (a fact he explictly states) to be able to leave, and Wickers wastes some of the fluid on himself, how is it that Christopher can still leave? If Christopher is so gung ho on saving his people, why does he leave them there? If Wickers knows that Christopher is not only the one person who can help him but the only one that seems to want to help him...why does he knock him out? And what was his plan when he gets into the ship? There are some other things that bugged me, but at the moment my mind is blanking. Some of it can be explained by having the aliens motivations such that they're never really explicable, but others... |

Its worth seeing, IMO even if I think the script dropped the ball in a couple of places. |
