So after playing with Zelda in tournaments for close to 2 years I've finally come to realize that she's just not for me. I know I've gone through a main crisis in the past and I finally felt so good after settling on a character. Lately I've been feeling pretty good about how I've been doing with her and what I've accomplished with her, but I know I'm capable of so much more. I'm tired of losing to people that I know I could beat if I just DIDN'T go Zelda. That's why I've come to the decision that I'm dropping Zelda for Falco. A lot of you guys know how much I love playing Falco and how frequently I pull him out in friendlies. Even more so recently. It's because I've been practicing for making this transition for a while now. I know that switching characters like that is going to be a steep climb for me again, but I know I can do it. Hoping you guys will be able to give me tips and help me out as I break in my Falco into tournaments and stuff. Can't wait to see how well I do with Falco at Mall Brawl 2.

Thanks guys!

I feel like the idea of a "main" is so funny now adays. You can play whoever you want and you don't have to feel soul bound to a character for anything and everything.

Whats going to happen if your playing Falco now and your getting beat by someone you know you could dominate as Zelda? Can you switch? IMO the idea and the tag of a "main" is just a way that people put handcuffs on their own abilities.

Its funny to me. I play friendlies with everyone in Minnesota and everyone use all kinds of characters in friendlies. You develop new ways of looking at situations and different ways to react to your positions and I really do feel like it helps you regardless of who your playing. But then you get to tourney and its like "OK, Max is only going to play Zelda, Randall only plays Kirby, Wake never moves from Peach, ect ect" it makes it easier to attack those principals. Its like playing chess and saying "I can only use Knights and I never use my Bishops".

I apologize if that sounded disrespectful (the last thing I am trying to do disrespect anyone) but I really do feel like some of you guys limit yourselves a bit. This game of Rock Paper Scissors becomes easier when you have access to Rock, Paper and Scissors (That was a good one, I need to copyright that). When you start out on this path things might go quite poorly, but as you develop your new characters you learn more about your old ones and things open up and makes you an even more unstoppable force.

People still consider me a Samus main and it kinda bothers me. To me its like when they say it they saying "Yea your a Samus main because your not good enough for Falcon/Fox/Marth/ect". You can have your own opinions on who I play best, but because I move around characters I can truthfully say I am comfortable being any of play playable characters in a money match. Added to that fact, I cant even remember the last time I used my Samus in a Money Match. I think I even used Link more recently than Samus in one.

So the bottom line of this mini rant is play Falco if you want to. I know you have one and I know its good. But there is no need to drop Zelda in the process. You don't have to drop one character to play another. Because when you go to a tourney, you should be trying to win by any means right?

This is just an April fool's joke for those who didn't get it. I'm not dropping Zelda, but I do want to consider picking up Falco for the Sheik matchup. I'd really appreciate the help in practicing this from everyone.
