In the links you posted for stage lists there are borderline stages. Are they legal (Green Greens, Luigi's Mansion, Port Town Aero Drive, etc)? Just want clear it up.

this issue was already brought to my attention. what i have to say about this matter is these controversial stages should be only allowed if both players are 100% ok with it. if you are not completely fine with your opponent taking you to luigi's mansion, speak up, your tournament placement is on the line. if you dont want to do it, then it will not be allowed. if your opponent wants to go to green greens but you dont, then speak up, and they will have to pick a different stage.

I've got to say SDC, that doesn't sound like a very good idea. You should just do what they suggest to you, and seperate the neutral/counter stages into either the nuetral stage list, or the counter stage list, then do the same with the counter/banned stages. Seperate them into the counter stage list and banned stage list however you see fit.

yeah i was also considering that, but what if someone decides that, but this way, it allows for more player/individual-oriented stage selection. if they both want to do the stage, why shouldn't they be able to do the stage? that way if somebody plays a stage they dont like, they have nobody to blame but themselves, they dont have any "bad tournament rules" johns.

however, if people want me to draw a finer line between what is legal and what isn't, i will do so.

so basically they are banned levels. i really think you should have a set in stone level list. or else there will be lots of confusion. regular rules allow players to play on any stage as long as they both agree, so your ruling on if they both agree doesn tmatter. making a rule set standard will be better for the future of your events.

this is my opinion, mostly copied and pasted from swf, but added lylat and ps1 to neutrals, you should stage strike with this stage list cause there are so many neutrals, but they are legit imo.

---Starter
Battlefield
Final Destination
Smashville
Yoshi's Island
pokemon stadium 1
lylat cruise

---Counter
Castle Siege
Halberd
Brinstar
Delfino
Frigate Orpheon
Jungle Japes
Pictochat
Pokémon Stadium 2
Rainbow Cruise

you need to have an odd number for stage striking to work. so maybe adding halberd to neutrals? or removing lylat? either way.

also i have no problem with this cp list. seems fair.

I'd suggest removing PS1.

i dont like having rainbow cruise as a neutral in melee, the moving stage favors other characters too much. maybe if you add it, we can make melee stage striking as well.
