Abe listened as well as she tried to permeate the darkness and the light with her eyes. Both weren't anywhere near superhuman, but the did her well for as long as she's been alive.

"Beth," "Utility closet down the hall, grab some flashlights."

Flashlights might be a good idea. Or not. But it would be good to have them just in case.

"I'm gonna try... something?"

Abe closed her eyes for just a minute. She hoped that that something didn't include Ian being out in the open. She heard someone quietly moving towards the utility closet and ascertained that it was Beth. Beth was skittish, but somehow she knew the woman would get the job done.

She also heard the click when Sylandra popped what she figured was a night scope onto her Bruce. She liked Sylandra; she totally got the whole naming of her weapons. Then Bosch spoke to her directly.

"Brave girl Abe. Maybe you wouldn't have done that if you knew how I once felt about your Captain."

"Don't rightly care about how ya felt 'bout him in the past. Not really an issue here is it?" she started. "This is more about what kind of craziness is happening on this ship right now and if'n ya have anything to do with it."

"Kill the bitch."

"And in turn whether or not he might just have a hand in it. Their was some speculation before and far as I know, y'all are the only crew left here."she continued. "So are y'all the problem? Or is someone else here."

"Mike," "I have the flashlights and a few other things in this bag."

Good. If only she could lay her hands on one at the moment.

"Oh fer cryin out loud..."

Especially to beat Ian over the head with since he was now in the light AND looking over the rail.

Her hand was very close to plucking out Tiny Tim, who was once tucked behind her back hidden by her jacket. He wasn't usually there, but he was loaded with tranqs just in case Ian decided to do something to put himself in danger.

Like this.

At least if he was out cold, someone would pull him back to where it was safer. He was getting on her nerves. She loved him and although he would be mad at her for dosing him, she wouldn't feel think twice about it. An alive Ian was a better option, even if he hated her for the rest of her life.

"Bosch, please keep your hands where we can see them and turn around, slowly. Not that I dont trust you, just verifyin."

Move back... Move back... Move back, you idiot.

"Are you talking about when we met on the Baronness? I was more than just a target of opportunity?? Really?? And you did ruin my favorite pair of pants."

Pants? She was sure there was a story behind that one. One she didn't really care about.

"Will you please move back?" she snarled loud enough for him to hear her. "Or I will shoot you myself."

She hoped he did move back. He probably wouldn't, but she could hope. The most she could do was try to distract anyone from focusing on Ian. She wanted them to focus on her instead.

Plus, now that the only light was from the glow sticks, seeing was just a little easier.

"So Bosch... Ya gonna do what the Captain asked? Or are ya goin' to drop the act" she was hoping it was an act "and give us the skinny on what the good gorram is going on?"

Her right hand wrapped around Dude as her left deftly pulled out Tiny Tim. She was ready. She was just about as good shot with her left hand as her right.

She'd just have to see which one needed to be used first.

Sylandra hissed at Ian, "I have her in sights. Any hostile move and she's goin' down. "

She hoped all would work out, but usually that was a wasted dream. Too many had come to this situation and found it deadly. She had seen her share, didn't care to see more, but they always kept showing up. Time and again.

At least Beth was back, out of the way, if the lead started flying. Abe was armed, and she was sure the woman could shoot, probably better than herself. Syl didn't claim to be a crack shot. Too many in this crew held that notion already. Her job was demo and electronics, with a nice little kicker when needed. Her faux military training held good enough.

Wish I had stun rounds. Could just lay that bitch down from here.

CREW (lower) DECK

Bosch complied. Before she turned around she moved ever so slow and undid the front button of her jump suit and let it drop to the floor. She slowly kicked it away. Dressed now in a halter brassiere and thin lace legging she turned around. If she had a weapon it was where weapons should not be hid. But then, SHE was a weapon.

Hands still spread she went to her knees.

As Glory crew moved in she made no moves unless ordered to do so.

...........
PASSENGER (mid) DECK

Jasper was found in the Passenger Lounge. He was naked and changed to the far corner. Numerous bruises that looked like they came from a beating were all over his body. On the dining table were numerous mostly eaten meals and several drugs: a sedative and a virility injection for men.

He held up his chained ankle, "If you don't mind I'd like to get off a the next stop."

His story was simple. "Your little engineer drugged us at supper just after you left. Took off with Dom in the shuttle after cutting power lines all over the ship. It was trying to get them put back together when Bosch when psycho, decided we'd keep the ship have some fun. I was keen enough on the latter but figured repairs was first. I told her no."

Jasper rubbed some bruises on his face and looked at the drugs on the table. "Bitch don't like no."

....................
CREW (lower) DECK

Bosch offered a similar story, still separated from Jasper.

"Reese drugged us. Didn't take to me for long. I tried to get my gose together but she had dragged Dominic to the shuttle. She'd done something to the ship, shut it down. Kept a knife at Dominic's neck, he was mighty drugged at the time, couldn't offer any resistance. Then she... said something, some sort of code word. Made ... me ... go off. Still em. Off that is. I, I do bad things when I'm just Bosch, and on my own. No repercussions and all."

She looked into the eyes of whoever was on the lower deck with her. "Maybe lock me up for a bit, until I get more of Ryobi back in my head." Bosch/Ryobi looked up to the second deck. "He was a good sport at first. But I like being in charge. and his endurance wasn't quite ... what I was looking for."

"I can't help if I'm a bad girl. That's the way they made me."

She smiled like high paid courtesian for a moment, then her face went sad. "Only good thing I ever had was being crew on Glory. Guess I went and messed that up a bit."

Bosch took a deep breath. "oh yeah, Reese left a letter for the Captain. It's there in my jump suit pocket."

There was a time when Ian would have enjoyed watching a beautiful woman strip out of a pair of coveralls and kneel down in his line of sight.

That was a long time ago.

That part of Ian's mind had shifted over to wanting to see Abe in various stages of undress. It did acknowledge that Bosch still was in very fine shape. The it quickly hid and let the other parts of Ian mind come to the fore.

The Soldier continued to look for signs of trouble, it knew that Bosch really didn't need weapons because she was the weapon. The Soldier remembered seeing her fly through the flames back in Hablong on Verbena and stand up to Tobias Hawke and Kat.

The Captain still looked out for his crew. The Captain looked over Bosch's body for signs of injury and was happy to see that Bosch had not decided to go commando before dropping the coveralls

The lover did look over to Abe and back, worried that he was being just a man while looking at Bosch's body.

The Friend watched Bosch's eyes and saw what he believed to be a haunted look.

The man that all the parts were came to a conclusion and decisions followed.

"Mike, You and Beth find Jasper. He didn't sound to good. Abe, follow me down to Bosch. Syl, cover us from up here. We'll meet back up in the lounge below. There's Emergency Lights on a separate system that I had installed. That system might be intact.

Still armed, Ian walked down the steps to the Passenger Deck then to the main Cargo bay and came up beside Bosch. She didn't move other than breath. He moved to stand in front of Bosch and holstered his weapons, he knew that Abe would not.

He told Bosch to relax and sit back. He asked if she was hurt and then what happened.

He did not like the answer.

He didn't like it one bit.

She looked into his eyes and continued.

"Maybe lock me up for a bit, until I get more of Ryobi back in my head."

She looked up to the second deck.

"He was a good sport at first. But I like being in charge. and his endurance wasn't quite ... what I was looking for."

"Jasper..? Whatchya do?

"I can't help if I'm a bad girl. That's the way they made me."

Ian could figure it out on his own from that.

"Never mind.

She smiled like high paid courtesian for a moment, then her face went sad.

"Only good thing I ever had was being crew on Glory. Guess I went and messed that up a bit."

During this time Ian had reached out and placed his hand on the back of hers. The Soldier screamed but he Captain squelched it and the Friend really didn't care. Bosch was made into a weapon and had been one for so long. Maybe it was time that she knew she had a choice.

Ian pulled back his hand and stood, taking his Duster off as he did. He draped it over Bosch's shoulders and pulled her to he feet. He should have done it sooner.

"Maybe a bit. But nothing that time wont heal. Abe will escort you to your room. Like you said, it might be best you stay there til we get to the next station. Just keep one thing in mind, when you're with Glory, you're not just crew, you're family."

As Bosch took a deep breath he turned to go back up the stairs to the Galley.

"oh yeah, Reese left a letter for the Captain. It's there in my jump suit pocket."

Ian picked up the coveralls and took the note out of the pocket and gave the clothes back to Bosch then went back up the steps and into the lounge where he went to a snap switch behind the fridge unit and flipped it. There was a new system of batteries he had installed that would give twelve hours of light to the room. It was reduced lighting, but it was better than the glow sticks currently in use. The switch and batteries were not on any print and he had forgotten to tell anyone about it.

Then he saw the condition of Jasper and got his side of the story from whomever would give it.

He still didn't like things.

Reese's Letter

Hello Ian,

By now you are like to have figured it out. The harm you know now in your heart had to be repaid. All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away. Only your sins didn’t sweep you away, you managed to run from them but you didn’t run far enough. He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy. Your sins have returned to you Ian. So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. Your sins have raised and I bear thee their message. Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t, sins.

He has dug a pit and hollowed it out and has fallen into the hole which he made. His mischief will return upon his own head and his violence will descend upon his own pate. Requite them according to their work and according to the evil of their practices; Requite them according to the deeds of their hands; Repay them their recompense.

I know my sins and they are many. My remuneration will be visited upon my by the Lord. He will render to each person according to his deeds. Will you face yours?

Love Reese

Suddenly the crisis was over and with Bosch no longer a threat, the doctor in Beth took over and grabbing her real medical bag from the med bay, she made her way to where Jasper had been found. Her first reaction was to gasp at the extent of his injuries and she was clearly disconcerted by his nakedness but professionalism took over as she started her examination.

After a few minutes, Beth said "I would like to get Jasper to the med bay to do a proper check up." In marked contrast to her usual quiet, diffident manner, now that she was within her comfort zone her tone was authoritative. It was probably not strictly necessary but she didn't want to take chances though with limited energy available she would only really be able to use those items of diagnostic equipment that had their own power supply.

Assuming, of course, that Reese hadn't been busy there as well.

"I might need some help if Jasper feels he isn't up to walking," she said. "And perhaps someone could find him something to wear, she added.

As the situation resolved itself, Sylandra levered herself up to her feet, keeping the scope on Bosch, while making her way around to the stairs. As Ian addressed Bosch, Syl made sure there were no other threats before descending and following Beth over to Jasper. Escorting him to the med bay, Syl relaxed slightly, her weapon at port, but still ready in case of action.

"See, Beth, that's one reason I tend to not trust too readily. No matter how good he might look on the outside."

There had been many times that Syl had put her trust in someone, only to have that trust betrayed. She had her reasons for the stand-offish mood that usually drove her. With Beth it had been different. With Jason, with Cypher, they had had to work up a trust that eventually led to their deaths. She had hopes that Beth would succeed where men had failed.

Sylandra's world weary tone tugged at Beth's heart.

She had trust issues of her own but they were generally directed inward, not outward; she didn't trust herself to do the right thing or to say the right thing except when dealing with a patient. Even then she had found it easier to be a surgeon than a general practitioner and several times during her time at the clinic she had wondered whether she shouldn't have moved into forensic medicine instead. She had kept people at a distance, even April though she had gotten closer than any other.

So Beth didn't have the experience to have the words to respond but she knew she had to do something. She had failed April, kept her at a distance when she should have gotten close and as a result had proved to be the final straw that had broken her. Despite her own feelings of inadequacy and the fear that at some point she might end up betraying Sylandra at some point through incompetence or fear, Beth didn't want to be that straw again.

There was only one thing she could think of; putting down the wipe she had been using to clean the skin around one of Jasper's injuries she turned and moved slowly up to Sylandra. Beth wrapped her arms around Sylandra and held her tight.

Becker received the flashlight from Beth then pressed unsure of what to expect. His first thought was to get the drop on Bosch, if any drop needed to be put her. Ian then stepped into the light, and Mike's heart sank to see another crew member put themself in the line of fire. But Bosch wasn't the enemy and Ian diffused the situation.

With stealth no longer needed, Mike flicked on his light and approached Jasper's location as Ian had asked of him. When he caught sight of the engineer, he positioned the light in a table to illuminate him, then rushed to his aid. "What the hell happened?" Becker began fiddling with the chain to Jasper's leg, before the explanation stopped him.

His fears were realised. Fears he'd had but kept to himself. That had caused this, and endangered Dom. Now he considered himself responsible. He dropped from a crouched position on to his rear, and stared out at nothing. "She was the traitor," he muttered. Why hadn't he said anything? Why hadn't he made sure to tell the captain?

As Beth arrived, Mike let her takeover. Then he rose as Ian brought some proper light back to the room. Becker was still processing information though. He snapped. "Go se!" He drove his foot into the nearest cupboard "Go se!" He raised his hands up to pound on the counter, bur managed to restrain himself and flopped over it instead, his head down and his eyes closed. He was struggling with what he wanted and what was real. And all that he still felt for Reese.

He tilted his head toward Ian. "How'd she get like that? You remember how she was? How could she possibly lose all that..."

And if he couldn't leave his trust in her...

Michael drew a long breath. "I'm sick of it Ian."

Ian showed Mike the letter from Reese.

"She's gone off the deep end, this time. Maybe what Tyler Lindon did affected her more than we ... more than I thought.

He paused and his face grew hard.

Mike, she's had her second chance."

He knew his friend was hurting but didn't know what to do about it. Mike wasn't Military and for so much of his life, Ian was.

Before the women left with Jasper in tow Ian ran to the cupboard and pulled out a couple of table clothes. It was all he could find. He draped one over Jasper's shoulders and gave him one for his waist

I'm so sorry, Jasper. I've been on the receiving end or her ... attentions before. But I had a place to run too. You didn't."

He paused again

"Take a few minutes and get cleaned up, once the Doc gives you the ok. We need you back on your feet to get the ship running again. I can let you off at the next station, but this is a war we're in. How long before trouble of a different kind comes knockin at yer door and you still wont have a choice. I need you with me, Jasper. We all do."

Ian let Beth and Syl take him out of the room but contiinued loud enough for the man to hear.

Mike, we'll have to start fixin what Reese left us. THere are some tool belts in the locker outside of the Engine room. I'll meet you there. Then we have a brother to find."

He was speaking of Dom, because with the Glory, once you're crew, you're family.

Sylandra, "See, Beth, that's one reason I tend to not trust too readily. No matter how good he might look on the outside."

Jasper Daltry looked at the pilot. "Huh, you mean me?" He tried to flash a smile but instead mostly just grimaced.

Jasper seemed to calm down rather quickly after getting some medical attention. His nerves were shot. The drugs had him frazzled, "... not slept for .. I don't know..." After a few drinks of water, "Thanks Doc. So how did the big shindig go?"

He addressed the Captain, "... She cut the power." He said, referring to Reese. "I was trying to find where when Bosch went psycho. She couldn't seem to access you programming so just cut power lines isolating every section and sub-system."

As for Ian suggestion that he was needed. "Might need to sleep on that Captain."

Sylandra's comm buzzed. While the systems on Glory were not working, those on Blaze were still active. The Scanner indicated that there was incoming. A midbulk was closing in on them.

Bosch's Cabin

Bosch offered no resistance or any sign that she would.

The cabin was a mess. Clothing, magazines, a few weapons and various sexual devices were scattered everywhere. Bosch turned to Abe. "See anything you'd like to play with?"

The cyborg handed Abe the duster Ian had offered and slipped onto the bed. She looked briefly at some celebrity magazine and dropped it on the floor.

Mike's head rose to scan the letter that Ian slid before him. "I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it first hand." An encounter with her off Glory that he hadn't discussed had planted the seeds of doubt that were now confirms. "I don't know what happened to the Reese we knew, but I haven't seen her since she left this ship with a fresh scar across her throat. I can't tell you who this is." Becker pushed the letter away. It offered nothing good.

He turned around, now leaning against the counter, and tilting his head until he was staring at the ceiling. Ian shared his words.

"Ian. You and I are gonna need to have a talk." His gaze trailed down to find Ian to convey that there was an important point to share. But there was also a ship to fix up. The attention to that was mandatory for anyone who liked living.

When the energy was found, Mike pushed away from the counter and swiped the light from the desk. He headed off to retrieve some tools for whatever Ian was to ask of him. Becker's understanding of the ship's inner workings was rudimentary. he'd need guidance.

Sylandra shook her head at Daltry. "Not you. Was commentin' on Reese. Thought that bitch was trustworthy. Big disappointment there."

Sylandra dug out her comm and checked the faceplate. Seeing the scanner image displaying incoming traffic she gulped and turned to Ian and Mike. "We've got incomin' traffic. Mid bulk and headin' straight for us. Comin' off the Blaze' scanners. Since she's armed and Glory's dead, ya want me to go topside and be ready?"

She had turned half way back toward the stairwell as she finished talking.

The realisation quickly dawned on Mike as he turned to hear Sylandra's words. "Reese sent a message off ship. She's working with someone." He looked to Ian. "And after reading that letter, we should brace ourselves." He took a breath before remembering he himself had a commanding role.

"Find out what we can do with this ship," he told Syl, agreeing with her suggestion. "Though maybe you're best operating from Blaze for comms. I'll set up a not-so-welcome party. We really need to coax Jasper back to work too." Becker looked to Ian, to check if they could go with his assessment.

((OOC) I owe everyone an apology. I had not indicated where Ian was during my posts. To my knowledge he and Mike are in the Galley. Bosch and Abe are in her cabin and Jasper, Beth and Syl are in the Med Bay. So, Ian ... please remember to post the location your character is posting from so others will know .... )

Galley

Ian nodded to Mike about the need to have a talk when Syl's voice came over the Comm Box.

"We've got incomin' traffic. Mid bulk and headin' straight for us. Comin' off the Blaze' scanners. Since she's armed and Glory's dead, ya want me to go topside and be ready?"

Mike looked at Ian and voiced what he was thinking

"Reese sent a message off ship. She's working with someone. ... And after reading that letter, we should brace ourselves."

Then stepped into his roll as XO as seamless as putting on a worn coat.

"Find out what we can do with this ship," he told Syl, agreeing with her suggestion. "Though maybe you're best operating from Blaze for comms. I'll set up a not-so-welcome party. We really need to coax Jasper back to work too."

He looked at Ian. Ian nodded then spoke

"Beth, give Jasper a Stem Dose. It'll give us four hours to rock this boat back into shape before Jasper will go beddy bye. Jasper, I need propulsion, we may need ta do a blind burn."

He thumbed the controls to the All-Comm before he remembered that the ship was dark so he took out his PDA and connected up the ones that were with him during the raid.

"Abe, see if Bosch wants to come out and play. We have incoming and I need all hands. I'll need you and Tiny's big brother to get with Mike for, as he called it, a not so welcome party. Bosch, your job will be to protect the ship and crew by any means necessary until I say different. Well, Mike or me if I get hurt. Syl, get the Blaze out and keep us covered. Keep in contact via comm channels."

Bosch's Cabin

Abe remained alert as she walked Bosch back to her cabin. Bosch seemed resigned enough. She had done plenty of damage once she was "activated." Mostly to Jasper.

Upon walking in, Abe noted that the place was a disaster zone. Everything was thrown about like a tornado had gone through there. There were several "toys" of various types strewn about as well.

"See anything you'd like to play with?"

Abe shook her head a bit.

"I'm not a prude, but I think I do well enough on my own," she said. Her and Ian were taking it slow, but they had shared a couple of highly heated kissing and groping sessions. For now, that was enough. At least she hoped it was.

She took Ian's duster when it was handed to her and slipped it on quickly in order to keep both her hands free. His scent rose up and enveloped her and for a second it was hard to concentrate. But she was a professional and she got back to work without notice.

Then Bosch picked up a celebrity magazine before dropping it on the floor. It just rang odd that Bosch would have a magazine like that in her room. She just didn't seem the type. She seemed more like a "Weapons Illustrated" kind of girl, but then again, that was something that she herself subscribed to. Just not in paper format.

"Ya OK? I mean, like really OK?" Abe asked. "It's my job ta guard the man who wears this duster and even though he totally disregards my duties, I just need ta know if ya are someone who would think of causin' him harm, even when not 'activated'."

Abe wanted to believe whatever she said, especially if it was of the 'yes I won't think of killing Ian' line of thinking. Then she heard the comms come to life. Ian must be restoring some of the systems controlled by his complex programming. She never took her eyes off of Bosch though.

Abe moved to when she could send her own message, again without taking her eyesoff Bosch.

"Capt'n? All of my other boys are bigger than Tiny. A little clarification would be shiny," she said calmly. "And just where are ya going ta be during this unwelcome party?"

She had to position herself so she could cover him, as well as defend the ship. She then addressed Bosch.

"Ya up to a possible fight? Or would ya rather be locked in here until we resolve this matter. It's up to ya and ya seem a little rough around the edges."

BLAZE

As Sylandra slid Blaze away from Glory, the approaching mid-bulk changed course ever so slightly; as if reacting to Blaze's separation from Glory.

A few seconds later a small ship broke away from the incoming mid-bulk.

The scan of that smaller ship indicated an Alliance Fighter. Versus a souped up shuttle like Blaze, it was a no contest. Sylandra knew what a fighter could do in a short distance. And she'd come to understand what Blaze could do. It looked like the end.

.....
MED BAY

After the Captain commed his suggestion to Beth, Jasper Daltry looked at the empty Stem Doses laying on the table. His head dropped back as he pulled on a shirt someone had found for him. Then he shook his shoulders and offered his arm. "Do it."

------

IN THE MAINTENANCE AREAS, VARIOUS AROUND THE SHIP.

Ian and Mike found that Reese's sabotage was pretty simple. Nothing that could have been done with a full active crew, but with the others drugged she'd had time to isolate the systems of the ship by cutting all power and their data lines.

Fixing was easy, and each one didn't take much time, but there would be easily a few dozen places that would have to be looked over.

Some decision on priorities would be needed, they incoming ship would arrive before they would finish. Weapons, comms, scanners, engines, command and control and a couple dozen subroutines and lines to just fix one or two systems.

--------
BOSCH'S CABIN

Bosch looked up at Abe from the bed, expressionless.
"Fight?" She smiled with what seemed to be almost lust.
Then with a grace and a speed that was just a couple tics faster that what should be humanly possible she darted around the cabin picking up a few pieces of armor. Then a couple pistols were in her hands. She snapped them to the armor.

"I got a few pieces might fit you." she said as she tied her hair back, then reached under the body vest and adjusted her breasts. She looked at the sex toys, laughed. "I mean armor of course. And don't you worry your little boobies about me. I'll kill for Glory."

Then she picked up the celebrity magazine, found a pen and wrote on it.
"If I get wonky, that word, so I paid to find out should put me out. Course it could be a ruse, might make me do something else. If your Reese bitch had my command cues, might be these new folk do too."

Bosch tore off the corner of the magazine and handed it to Abe.

--------------
BLAZE

Sylandra was able to get a good scan and a visual.

The approaching ship was a Firefly, a converted Blockade Runner of some sort. A ship hated by the Alliance during the war. Quick and agile, and with an EMP Crippler and Grappling equipment.

When Sylandra announced that there was a ship incoming it was all Beth could do to stop herself from bursting into tears. She had desperately hoped for some time alone with Sylandra, even if it was just keeping her company on the bridge and yet again her hopes had been shattered. She might have done so if Ian hadn't intervened.

Ian said: "Beth, give Jasper a Stem Dose. It'll give us four hours to rock this boat back into shape before Jasper will go beddy bye. Jasper, I need propulsion, we may need ta do a blind burn."

"Yes sir," she acknowledged quietly, her tone neutral. She wasn't happy about what she had to do but at least she had something to do.

Pulling herself together, Beth checked the current supplies and finding them exhausted, she had to rummage around in her disposal locker for one that wasn't too far out of date. Fortunately, in this case, they didn't degrade too quickly and the date was more about keeping the manufacturer's profits up than any real chance of reduced efficacy or increased risk of side effects.

"You've had to many of these recently and your blood pressure is higher than I would like. This might kill you," Beth said in a small, trembling voice.

Jasper said: "Do it."

It didn't absolve Beth of the ethical liability, in the eyes of the law or, more importantly, in her own eyes, if it did kill him but it was something. Still, she found it hard to pluck up the courage to actually insert the needle and for a little while she hesitated.

Suddenly impatient with herself, she swabbed the area with an alcohol wipe, thinking as she did so that Bosch probably hadn't been that fussy, then carefully inserted the needle and depressed the plunger before withdrawing it and putting a small sticking plaster over the entry point.

"I'll come with you and keep an eye on you," she said, her voice soft but firm as she loaded a few items into a small medical bag.

Bosch's Cabin

Bosch's blank expression made Abe worry a bit about the woman's state of mind. But then she smiled.

"Fight?"

Then the woman was darting about, quite speedily, picking up armor and pistols. Snapping them together and into place.

"I got a few pieces might fit you."

Abe looked at the sex toys and scowled a little.

"I mean armor of course. And don't you worry your little boobies about me. I'll kill for Glory."

Abe raised an eyebrow at her.

"Don't ya worry 'bout me. Got my own armor. Made special and all for my smaller frame. Has come in handy from time to time, just not at that village where I got reunited with the Capt'n and all," she told her. "About died. Two stim shots, a doctor and some days' rest and I was back on the mend."

She paused for a second.

"I don't go far without it."

Abe watched with interest as Bosch jotted down something on the celebrity magazine.

"If I get wonky, that word, so I paid to find out should put me out. Course it could be a ruse, might make me do something else. If your Reese bitch had my command cues, might be these new folk do too."

"A word?" she asked, her brow furrowing.

Then Bosch handed the paper to her and she looked at it. Her eyebrows raised dramatically before looking back at Bosch.

"This word... Are you serious?"

What a strange word to use for such a purpose. Abe shrugged, stuck it in her pocket.

"Shall we get ready for the party?"

Sylandra rolled the Blaze over onto its back, and slid down behind Glory, putting the larger ship between her and the incoming fighter. She accelerated away to put some distance, and then killed the thrusters, and using the attitude jets, brought the nose of the shuttle back 180 degrees so it was pointing at the projected appearance of the fighter. Her fingers tapped out the access code to bring the weapon pod active and her index finger wrapped around the trigger.

"Standing by, Glory. I'm dark and in place."
