Ok, just started watching the new mini series on Syfy.

A 1960's "Arc" sent on a 100 year journey to a new planet. The inhabitants being second generation from the original astronauts. Technology limited to 1960's'. Half of the show is based on Earth where the secret of the arc is being discovered. It seems interesting in concept.

My first impression is: "How did they get all those people up to what would have to be an in orbit construction of the Ascension? This is before the shuttle. Send them up three at a time in an Apollo?"

My second: ok, so they are traveling at 1G acceleration to produce gravity. Since they are 51 years out of 100, they should have turned over and started deceleration. That might have been fun to watch.

And now they are sending a message to Earth. Guess that will take 50+ years each way. :D
But my heart is not weary, it's light and it's free I've got nothing but affection for all those who sailed with me
Stick with me baby, stick with me anyhow. Things should start to get interestin' right about now

So... I finally got around to watching this show last night. Well, I watched Part I. Not sure how I feel about the big twist, but I'm pretty keen to keep going. I'll hopefully find time this week for the other two parts.

Did you guys watch it all? Does it go uphill or down?

you tell me your feelings about it.

For me, it was a letdown in that it left nothing to continue. 'course, it's been a half year since I watched it, so I'm mostly going on my previous comments.

Fair enough. Like I said, I've only seen Part 1, which ended with the 'big twist', but I personally enjoyed it. Think the politics and drama of the situation will be fun to watch and the whole 'conspiracy' side of it intrigues me. Overall I'm pretty keen to see it through, just wondered if ya'll continued on or were turned off by it.

I'll give my thoughts when I've seen the whole miniseries.

I was let down.
Lot's of build up, but nothing like a finish.
The usual first season that doesn't really get you anywhere except to hopefully hook you for a second. I hate that. Won't watch it.

I did like the twist though. That was nicely done.
