Sonya tried to not make any indication what the woman was doing to her. Still, she had seemed a lot more interested in the men, or that had been her first impression. Was she really interested in her too? Bi, or just sexual. It had been a long time since Sonya had taken a lover, and that had been more of a refresher, a time of things long past and longer over. One night with Ian.

This had her blood flowing and the flushing to her chest and neck were obvious.

Gulliver turned and looked up, just a little - the Pixie wasn't hardely tall enough to have much height on her even though Sonya was seated. Sonya's right hand moved and touched the Pixie's waist. "If you're just flirting you better step back..." Her hand moved slowly up Siobhan's stomach, at least the side away from the breast that pressed against Sonya's shoulder.

Unless the smaller woman stepped away Sonya's hand moved slowly, firmly over Pixie's other breast with just the slightest increase in pressure as it move up to the back of her neck. Gulliver then very slowly pulled the woman closer to her. And kissed her.

Slow at first, lips, then a tongue,
then....

The control panel beeped.
Mandatory Station Security and Safety Questionaire and Interview

Stand by for required questionaire and interview. Automated responses are not allowed. Captain, First Officer, or Primary Pilot requied.

"Gose." Sonya said as the kiss was broken. She looked at the screen, "Guess with every sweetness there comes a bit'a'bitter." Sonya looked back at Siobhan as her hand moved from behind her head.

"Afters then, this hoo-ha mission... yeah?"
"an try not to distract me... much yeah?"

Sonya's eyes forced themselves from the Pixie as she tapped the screen and a very bored Alliance officer prepared to perform a most boring interview, random and yet still required from time to time.

William met the others at the airlock once the ship had formed a connection. He tapped the intercom, "Pixie, I need you down at the airlock." He turned to Lupin and Skarlet. "Ok, I'll tag along with you. Lupin, you're point contact, Skarlet and I will act as guards. Rex, when Pixie gets here, the two of you, along with Ayden go into the main concourse and just be ready if we need backup. Everyone got that? Good."

He toggled the hatch release, which opened up through the double hatch to lead them into the station proper. The station's corridor lead into a busy concourse, filled with civilian traffic moving from storefront to restaurant and back again. It was a bustling community. Along one wall stood several private security teams, their watchful eyes hidden behind darkened face shields. Checking the directory, Lupin determines the shipping office to be off "up curve" from their docking station.

"Am I just flirting?" the Pixie asked herself but as Sonya's hand moved up her side and reached her breast a tremor ran through her body. She didn't resist when Sonya's hand slipped behind her head and drew it toward the pilot's. At first she was a little hesitant about the kiss but by the time Sonya's tongue touched her lips she was ready and responded in kind.

Then the panel beeped and Siobhán felt a real sense of disappointment as reality intruded and Sonya pulled back.

"No, not just flirting," the Pixie decided.

Sonya said: ".... an try not to distract me... much yeah?"

"Me? Distract?" the Pixie asked, pretending to be shocked and brushed her hand across Sonya's breast as she broke contact to allow Sonya to get on with her job.

William said:"Pixie, I need you down in the airlock."

"On my way, Captain," Siobhán said and with a last bemused glance at Sonya, left the bridge, picked up her belt kit, fastening it to her waist as she made her way to the airlock.

"Apologies for my tardiness, Captain; I was showing Sonya the key sequence to allow us to break landlock if we need to," Siobhán said with a broad smile. She didn't expect William to believe it.

Airlock

Ayden was nervous. She hadn't ever done anything like this before. You know... been on a mission of sorts. She readjusted her patchwork sack which was now filled with medical supplies rather than her belongings. Good thing it was rather large.

"Pixie, I need you down at the airlock."

It looked like the teams were to be William, Lupin and Skarlet, then Pixie, Rex and herself on a second line on the main concourse.

She leaned over to Rex and stood up so she could speak in his ear.

"I brought a gun," she whispered to him. "Should I have brought one or am I being paranoid."

She shrugged.

"I've never done anything like this. But you probably knew that."

She hoped that everything went as they would like it. It just had to.

Then the hatch was opened and they were moments from stepping out onto the station itself. The concourse was up ahead and could smell the aromas coming from the restaurants.

She also saw the private security teams who watched the crowds. The shipping office was up curve from where they were. Was that a good location for them? She wasn't sure.

So they just had to wait for everyone to join them. She wanted to go and get this done and over with. She and Rex had plans to make.

REX YANGTREE

Ayden whispered in his ear. She had a gun. He looked at it. She knew how to use it. Growing up in a military family, and old conversations told him that. He nodded, spoke softly back to her. "Don't hesitate, remember; while this isn't just what we'd like to be doing... yet. We have to do it like it was. Everything is for our son now. Do what you have to do. For him."

He didn't show anything but his hardened 'game' face. No sentiment. Rex had told her about war, about how school teacher and plumbers often made better soldiers than those that had spent their lives in military schools in preparation. A certain grit one had to do what one had to do.

"I know you will." He did.

.......

Yangtree was as armed to the teeth as he figured he could get away with as someone that was guarding the opening to his boat. Anything more than the assault rifle on his back, shotgun looped over a shoulder and semi-autopistol on his belt would make it look like was prepared for a full on assault. Which if the situation warranted, he would.

He looked over his crew, then turned to size up the concourse.

Unlike the others, Siobhán appeared to be unarmed. She had her knives, of course, but they were concealed and the sniper rifle she had left behind, feeling that ti didn't really suit the sort of close in fighting liked to occur with the the confines of the station. Besides, it was too obviously a sniper weapon and would look a little suspicious to be carrying around.

"I must get around to replacing my automatic pistol," she thought.

For now, she would have to rely on her team members and stealth on her part to get close enough to any hostiles to be able to dispatch them quietly.

Ayden listened to Rex as he gave her some instructions.

"Don't hesitate, remember; while this isn't just what we'd like to be doing... yet. We have to do it like it was. Everything is for our son now. Do what you have to do. For him."

Ayden nodded in agreement.

"For Brandon," she whispered.

She did recognize the no nonsense version of Rex that stood beside her. He was armed as heavy as he could be and get away with it without getting too much attention. He had on his "game face" and she donned her own on as well. Everything she was doing from this point forward was for them and their son. They would do what was needed until they had what they needed to go get him.

"I will do what is needed," she confirmed.

"I know you will."

She knew that to be true because she was a mother and a mother would do anything for her child.

She just wondered if they would be leaving soon.

William, Lupin and Skarlet turned up the concourse toward the shipping district. Lupin passed over the faked badges to the others and pinned his own his own lapel. The tags showed a star burst image overshadowed by the title: Mobius Interstellar. Below listed each of their fake names, and positions. Lupin's was Zack Lupinski, Material Supervisor.

The shipping office was easy to find; a static neon sign over the door, as well as the large rollup door to one side, partly open and two men in coveralls lounging nearby. Obvious cargo handlers for any larger shipments that came through. Lupin smiled at them in passing, presenting a relaxed attitude as someone on routine business.

Inside, a few chairs cluttered the small waiting room to one side, while the long counter bisected the space between this room and the warehouse further back. The man at the counter looked up from his CORTEX tablet as Lupin entered, followed by Skarlet and William who took up their positions on either side of the entry door. Lupin casually stepped to the counter, presenting a flimsy with the documentation of the shipment in question. The man on the other side of the counter took it and glanced down briefly, scanning the codes and then checking his terminal. His rough hewn face sported a beard that hadn't been touched by a razor in days. His eyes darted everywhere, yet he seemed only curious about the invoice he held. His sweat soaked flannel shirt had stains from his previous meal; some sort of greasy spoon joint's fare, as well as a few orange flakes from a snack eaten barely an hour ago.

"Yeah, looks gud." His voice reeked of slavic descent. He punched in a code next to the door behind him, and called into the speaker mounted there. "Bring up 25317. That box been dust collectin' months now. Glad get rid 'it."

Now, having served his tasks, he grunted and moved along the counter to a stack of papers that he proceeded to get engrossed in. He glanced back at Lupin, and nodded with his chin at the chairs along the wall. Obviously, commanding them to have a seat.

Once into the concourse, the others spread out casually, seeking various vantage points where they could ascertain the potential conflict or escape route needed in case anything went sideways. Aden, Pixie and Rex, all well and covertly armed, walked through the crowd, keeping an eye on the small knot of security types over along the wall. There was a small food area just across from the docking collar, convenient for watching for their other team, and keeping an eye on their escape route. There were only a few other patrons in the dining area: a family of three with their child enjoying his meal's messy combination of grease and sauces; two women relaxing after their repast, chatting over drinks about something they both enjoyed talking about; and two men talking quietly among themselves over small portions of food and drink.

Once they had confirmed the best location for their nest, Rex led the two women to one of the tables in the back corner. It offered the most unobstructed view of the docking collar, as well as a protected angle from the security team, giving them an opportunity to draw weapons covertly if needed.

Ayden stuck close to the others and studied the crowd closely. She didn't know exactly what she should be looking for when looking through the crowd, but she was well aware of where the security folks were.

She did notice the food court too. She tried to not get caught up in the food involved there. She loved visiting places like that. The food... New recipes that could be adopted... She shook her head and looked around again, searching for something out of place. Her eyes fell on the family sitting there enjoying their food. A mother, father and a little boy. That could have been her, Rex and Brandon if her father hadn't interfered. It made her heart tighten.

"That could have been us," she said aloud, not realizing that she had.

Even once they had sat down in a booth in the back corner, she found it hard not to keep her eyes off the family. Sure she still did her share of checking out the people around her, but that family...

It was painful.

But she knew she had to keep focused. If she did that, then maybe she could have that some day. Right now, as Rex had told her earlier, everything was for their son.

Now that Siobhán had had a chance to see what the layout was like, she was feeling rather uncomfortable armed with nothing but a PDA and a couple of knives. At least they were a little out of the way and she would hopefully have time to get into cover and then work her way into a position where she could attack at close range from behind. In the meantime she was monitoring station traffic on her PDA so that she could give the others early warning if things started going pear-shaped.

"Ayden said: "That could have been us,"

The Pixie looked sharply at Ayden and then looked at Rex to see what his reaction would be. She did't know what was going on but she had seen obvious tension between them since she had first come aboard. It was none of her business and her only real concern was that it might distract them at a critical moment.

She turned her full attention back to the PDA, hoping that she hadn't missed a nuance while her attention had been attenuated by her reaction to Ayden's statement. She knew that she wouldn't have missed anything obvious but it was the more subtle things that gave early warning.

They took their seats and waited on the retrieval of the cargo. Mere moments passed when a sullen looking man entered, looked them over once and then approached the counter. He must have had some authority as the clerk couldn't seem to move fast enough to address him. They talked in hushed tones for a bit and just then the crate arrived.

As another man pushed the grav-assisted box out from behind the counter, and moved it over to Lupin, who rose from his seat, the newcomer turned and glared.

"You guys don't look right. Lemme see your IDs."

Lupin shrugged and presented the paperwork again, while Skarlet and William rose and placed themselves at each of Lupin's elbows.

The man flipped through the flimsies, compared the photo IDs to the three of them and stared for a long time at Lupin before retuning the IDs.

"No, don't I know you from somewhere? You do seem ...."

Before he could answer, Lupin shook his head. "Yeah, I get that a lot. Guess they didn't break the mold when they made me. Lot's of guys fit my description. Are we okay?" He motioned at the crate, facing the counter agent with a questioning look. The man nodded, and the new guy backed off slightly, barely enough to let the three of them maneuver the crate out of the door and into the concourse. Being aided by grav devices, it floated just a scant few inches off the floor, gliding along with but a gentle touch.

"That could have been us." said Ayden.
Rex gave the family a look.

"Nah, you'd never let us eat that cardboard station gose." He smiled, happy with his quip s much as to make them look like they were just chatting it up.

Someone may be watching them, so, "Ayden? Why not go buy us something to eat. I'll get a feel for anyone watching us, though I imagine you'll get plenty of eyeballing anyway."

"you sharp there leprechaun?" he said to Siobhan.

"and Ayden," she'd know he was going to say this. "Nothing pickled."

Siobhan's sharp look after she had spoken out loud about the family was not lost on Ayden. She looked away quickly so that any further reaction could be a little hidden. She was happy that the small woman went back to monitoring her PDA. Ayden didn't want to deal with questions right now.

But then Rex spoke and it made her smile, despite the reminder family sitting nearby.

"Nah, you'd never let us eat that cardboard station gose."

"Perhaps not," she mused knowing full well that he was most possibly right.

"Ayden? Why not go buy us something to eat. I'll get a feel for anyone watching us, though I imagine you'll get plenty of eyeballing anyway."

Was that a backhanded suggestion that he thought she was still attractive to him? God... Now she had to think about yet another thing: the mission, the family and now some images of him in various levels of nakedness.

"you sharp there leprechaun?"

Ayden got up and began walking to the concession stand.

"and Ayden," "Nothing pickled."

She made a face at him and went up and ordered some French fries. She turned and looked over the crowd as she waited. It was then that she saw the others come out onto the concourse with a crate in tow.

She looked at Rex and Siobhan and back to the crate.

Could it be that easy?

Then her fries arrived, she popped one in her mouth and casually made her way back towards the table.

As the group with the crate entered the concourse, another two men came out from the opposite direction. One stopped at the guard detail and after a very brief converse, led two of the guards back the way he had come. The other man, stood casually at ease.

On spotting the man, William stops in his tracks, his face turns red and he draws his pistol. Three strides and he is within close range of the man, who realizing that William is facing him down, glares at William, who yells, "You gorram gose of a pig in heat! Steal from us and shoot my partner to seal the deal? Bet you didn't expect to find me running you down, now did you?"

Siobhán didn't let the interaction between Rex and Ayden distract her, nor when Rex spoke.

Rex said: ""you sharp there leprechaun?"

"I'm the gold at the end of the rainbow," Siobhán said with a cheeky smile though she didn't look at Rex, instead alternating her attention between the PDA on her lap and the events going on around her. Her gaze took in Ayden and she briefly wished that she had asked Ayden to get something for her too. For now she would make do with the coffee she had bought as a cover.

"Not good," Siobhán commented quietly as William faced down the rew arrival. She was hoping it was a distraction but she couldn't recall it being in the planning. Perhaps William was ad libbing but she hadn't seen anything that would require such a public display. It did rather make her wish that she was hiding in a nice spot with her sniper rifle. She leaned down and surreptitiously loosened the stiletto in its boot sheath in case she needed to use it though the prospects were not good she would be able to get close enough to be able to use it.

Surreptitiously, the leprechaun raised her PDA and took a photo of the man William was facing and started running facial recognition software to see if she could get a match. It was, of course, through a secondary connection and bounced around the verse to a server a long way away that did all the work so that there would be virtual no traffic to her PDA to minimise the risk of being detected.

When Skarlet had come out into the airlock, she certainly looked odd, maybe even unrecognizable at first. At least odd for Skarlet. First off was the lack of her rifle, something that was strange even for her. Pixie had been able to make good on her promise and she had diffused the bracelet. Even Skarlet felt odd with that change, while they walked through the station she couldn't help casually rub her newly freed wrist. It had been the first time in several years that she was able to free herself from the weight. But that wasn't the only change that she had managed to make for the sake of this Job. Her hair was tied behind her head in a neat braid, now the only thing that was standing out was the fact that it was still obviously dyed. Nor was she wearing her more exotic clothing and instead had a relatively clean jumpsuit with the ID card that Lupin had provided pinned to it. One of the fellow members of the crew might notice that it was supposed to be theirs. Before rushing off to meet the others she had taken the time to pilfer something that could be a usable uniform if she was to be playing the part of security. The final piece of work that she had actively taken to play her part was using makeup to help cover up the heart shaped tattoo on her cheek. Something that could easily identify her to a waiting sheriff. It wasn't perfect, but it should hopefully quiet any questions.

She had mostly stayed quiet while William did the talking. She was just supposed to be a security guard. Better for her, it did get difficult at times for her to pay attention to the constant stream of the voices in her head. Crowds always gave her voices the perfect oppertunity to screw with Skarlet. An empty chair in a food vendor would be occupied by her own ghostly image, or she'd pass by herself in a crowd. They didn't take on the disguised appearance of Skarlet, all except for one that followed her. "We should get something to thank Pixie. Oh! how about that she'd like that." Skarlet's gaze flickered to the copy that was following her. Almost every stall and stand attracting her attention. She wasn't happy that Skarlet had stolen money, but now she really wanted her to spend it on something for Pixie. The others weren't complaining about Pixie anymore, instead going back to their usual temptations. Skarlet indulged, at least in one of the voices. In the close quarters of this station it was impossible to not bump into someone, sticky fingers ensured that a wallet had ended up in her pocket instead of theirs. The jumpsuit was good for something afterall.

While she was waiting she glanced outside, the whispers in her ear. Maybe this would be as easier then she thought. All of the preparation would be just William being overly cautious. As the other man walked into the room past Skarlet, she idly thought of what her butterfly knife would do to their throat. But then again that was just a habit of hers when she was bored. When the flash or recondition came across her she let the butterfly knife slide from her sleeve. She just wanted the chance. Last thing she figured was for things to turn violent, and it wasn't even her that was the first to do it.

Suddenly a weapon was drawn and William was shouting. She didn't know who this man was, or at least why he had shot James. Justified or not, when did that ever make Skarlet lose any sleep? It was enough of an excuse for Skarlett, being couped up in a ship with the voice meant they would have to win eventually. And she had the perfect excuse. During the shouting the butterfly knife slipped into her hand, William's voice was more then enough to cover it clicking into place before Skarlet stepped towards him, looking to grab the back of his collar and pull him close to keep the knife to his throat.

William and his opponent stood close enough to reach each other, although neither man attempted to strike out. The crowd turned toward the confrontation, and the two military types became more erect at their posts, hands drifting toward their weapons.

The man glares back at William, not giving ground, and being a good 6 inches taller, not looking like he will. His left hand slithered nearer the back of his belt. At the same time, he glanced to his right, drawing Williams attention.

The blur of a knife was hard to see, even if one was watching deliberately. William swayed to his left, clutching at the knife wound bleeding from his neck. His gun came up and spoke in a harsh cough of smoke and fire. The round caught the other man across the shoulder, and then ricocheted into the hull plating behind him. Before the guards could react, William dropped to one knee, avoiding the second slash of his opponent's knife, and fired twice more, these rounds pounded into the other man's chest.

To little effect, it seemed.

The man stepped into William's defensive zone, tossing his blade from left hand to right, point outward, and thrusting again at William's throat.

Distracted by getting the facial recognition software running, it took a moment for Siobhán to realise that the situation had deteriorated and that the captain was in serious trouble. She put her PDA down and pulling out one of her knives, threw it at the man who was attacking the captain just as he began his thrust at William's throat. Siobhán was not too bothered whether the knife did any damage, she hadn't had the time to calculate the distance properly to ensure it hit point first and given that she was aiming at his head, all she was really interested was in distracting the man sufficiently to give the captain a chance.

Even as the knife left her hand she leapt over the table, pulling the stiletto out of its sheath and headed toward the fight, her intention to join Skarlet and to go in low, going for the back of his legs to hamstring him. Siobhán was never one to confront someone; quietly, from behind and without warning was her style.

The two women moved to help the Captain, they seemed to know what they were doing. Scarlet he had been told was quite capable.

Rex looked to Ayden and motioned back toward him and the ship then moved behind a pillar and slung his rifle out and slipped in a cartridge of rubber bullets.

He was prepared to start shooting anyone that moved to interfere
And avoid a bloodbath. That would only make things worse down the line. A knife fight and some bruised bodies, just another day in the black.
