JASPER DALTRY

"Thank you Captain."

"How can I assist you in your operation?" Jasper felt off the hook, now to make himself a bit more valuable could be in his interest.

Jasper wasn't the prime suspect anymore, or at least, the transmitter didn't show his DNA on it; it was enough to cast adequate doubt but it left the question open of who exactly had planted the transmitter or why.

Beth sighed, wondering what that meant for her immediate future. "Can I leave the infirmary and go find Sylandra?" she wondered. She knew all she had to do was ask but that was not easy for her.

"It is not as if the infirmary is far away from the bridge," she thought. "Just a few seconds," she added to her justification

The hatch was locked, of course; a sensible precaution and it was nearly enough to cause her to turn and retrace her steps to the infirmary. The lure of Sylandra, though, was too strong and, with a trembling hand, she pressed the intercom switch. "Sylandra? It's Beth. They've found the transmitter," she said, feeling a little foolish, both because she hadn't actually asked to be allowed entry and because she hadn't said that she hadn't actually been given permission to leave her station.
