"James" led the way into the bridge, Jack Wolf and Theresa Foster following. He waved Jack toward the pilot seat while he took the second seat and called up the navcomp. After spending a brief moment to get proper orientation, he looked up with a grin on his face.

"Okay, I've reset the previous course plot. We're heading out system. Just get us off the station and out of here before the authorities get wind of our hijack."

He then went back to the comp console and started keying in several levels of override.

Jack took the pilot seat and very quickly flicked the few switches to power up the controls, watching the lights on the panel making sure all the flight checks switch over to green. He released the mag clamps and hurried the undocking process, before slowly rolling the throttle forward pushing the ship away from the station. As soon as they were at a safe distance he pushed the throttle all the way forward, giving a fast full burn getting them as far from the station as possible.

Okay, I've reset the previous course plot. We're heading out system. Just get us off the station and out of here before the authorities get wind of our hijack.

"No we wouldn't want that. I mean you were so subtle, running down the halls of the baroness with a still bleeding severed damned hand."

Jack snapped as he looked back over his shoulder at the man, what in all that was holy had he gotten himself into. This guy seemed first like he was on his game, and next thing he is running by with a freshly severed hand. Like some baroque cartoon character. Wolf sighed and shook his head, he wasn’t yet ready to address the other elephant in the room. Even though it hung over him like a pink mass with green poka-dots, which would occasionally chuck a metaphorical peanut at his head.

"I mean that would never cause a stir, you see gose like that every other day right."

He shot James and rather menacing look, before turning his attention to the other person with them. Sighing as he finally chose to get addressing the situation out of the way. Plaster a smile onto his face, he shot the woman a charming wink; which seemed completely and utterly ingenuous to anybody around. Lacking any sort of the reform expected from a man like Jack.

"Long time no see."

The wave was a surprise, and not so much a nice one either. James was someone who ran in the same circles Reese had fallen into in recent times, not necessarily friends but money spoke loudly especially when her supply of drops was running low. In fact getting a fresh supply almost landed her riddled with bullets on her way into the ship. Whatever reason they were getting shot at she was just glad there were no crack shots behind the weapons.

She had no inkling of the situation, all she knew is that someone needed a person with the skills she had. There were very few ships in the 'verse that she couldn't operate. Even as the once beacon of good and holy relegated herself to a petty thief, delusions not withstanding. She was the best in the 'verse at what she did. Made and lost a fortune since that incident years ago with the crew of the Glory. She still owed them for that and maybe one day she would get a chance to repay them in full but for now the somewhat coarser voiced Foster was more interested in making back the money from her last job that had gone farther south than Hell.

She followed the others to the bridge, slightly shocked but not surprised to encounter Jack Wolf again. She still accredited him with stripping the first leaf of her innocence a long time ago but she wasn't the same person he likely thought he knew and quite frankly the past was somewhat of a blur anyway. She didn't mind working with him but wouldn't mind telling him where to go and how fast he could get there.

As the other two devised their plan Reese hung back, leaning against the entryway, arms crossed the backpack she'd had slung on her shoulder now on the floor. Jack's first greeting to her let her know he remembered her though he didn't seem shocked to see her. She replied to his pseudo-reunion greeting with a flip of the bird.

"You two get this ship goin', I ain't gettin' pinched by the purples for go se I ain't did. Got more than enough heat followin' me already. I'm gonna make sure this hunk has what it takes to not fall out of the sky. God help you if I find a Capeson 38 in that engine room J." She slung the backpack back up over her shoulder as she left the boys alone and made her way to the engine room, she'd studied this ship type before and knew her way around so it wasn't long before she was at her new 'home' and taking an inventory of the problems. It didn't take long to find many things she would need to change.

However, she wasn't just there to do her 'job'. Reaching into her bag she pulled out a small plastic bag filled with tiny pills. A solidified version of the popular 'drops' commonly traded in all parts of the 'verse. It'd been weeks since her last fix and her hands shook as she reached in and withdrew one of the tablets. Placing it on her tongue she swallowed and waited as the pain began to wash away and the soothing sounds of the engine began to hum along and relief spread through her.

She allowed herself to fade from reality, letting the drug do it's work as she sat on the cold grated floor. Happy to know that the engine not being a Capeson would make her job relatively easier.

As the stolen Alliance patrol boat sped away from the station, James grinned at the star field visible out of the forward screen. "We have one stopover to make before going on to Ariel. The coordinates are plotted. Go ahead and hard burn us out of here. Once we've made the required 'adjustments' we'll be safe from prying eyes."

There was something very dedicated in his manner. And something perhaps manic in his voice.

Wolf sighed and shook his head, as he righted the ship and set it on a course for the new trajectory. Then rolled the throttle all the way forward giving the ship and long hard burn, before he flipped on the auto pilot and locked the yolk closed. Leaning back in his seat, he pulled the flask from his pocket and took a long pull from it. Before taking out a cigarette and lighting it. He deeply inhaled the wonderful smoke, letting fill his lung as he enjoyed the flavor; before expelling the remnants into the air above him.

"Reese Foster"

He said to himself, as he looked back at the now empty door frame. Have not seen her in years he thought to himself, as he lifted his hand to rub his eyes. Long day did not begin to cover what had transpired, he thought as he took another long drag. Letting his gaze fall on the cockpit window, looking the glow that filled the black; such a beautiful place filled with stars and the like. It was hard to believe that something so beautiful, was also, so unbelievably dangerous. Though that was part of life, he supposed.

"I am getting too old for this"

He said to himself under his breath, looking back to the empty door frame and sighing. She had changed; Wolf didn’t know the whole of it. He just knew that something was different, something was wrong. The one thing a broken man like Wolf could spot was another person that life had had its way with. He didn’t know how yet, didn’t even know he would ever know what was wrong with her, he just knew something was.

Having let the buzz settle some, Reese pulled herself back to her feet. Sighing as she looked at the mess she was faced with. At one time she would have reveled in the challenge, now it was merely a task and one she did not relish. This hunk of go-se however was her port of call for awhile, so she began to take an inventory of what she would need to do to get this ship properly.

Of course she got the engine ready and rolling first off but once she felt the ship take off she began picking apart at it. Pulling all the useless out and putting it back together the proper way. Cursing her way through the room it didn't take long for the grease and oil to cover her skin and clothes.

Soon enough the engine room floor was mounting with the many useless but mandatory parts most Alliance vessels were fitted with due to endless contracts to universal suppliers. Gummed up the works something fierce.

She really didn't know how long she'd been at it but felt that dark poison filling her mind again. Her body nagging her. Setting down her tools she reached into her pack and pulled out a small case, within it a row of cigarettes. Pulling one out she rested on her knees as she placed the smooth cylindrical stick in between her lips. Sparking a match against the wall she lit the shaft and inhaled the smoothness. After a few moments of enjoyment she brought herself back up to her feet and gave the comm. a smack.

"Next time ya steal a ship make it space worthy gorram it." She bitched to the bridge. Releasing the button she also released a puff of smoke before going back to work, somehow maintaining hold of the cigarette between her fingers as she worked away.

Although there is a time span of a week or two, we'll jump over to Dead Dogs to complete this storyline.
