Hunters. . . . For a living, they've killed. Or hunted down and dragged back those branded as being worthy of their talents. Reputations garnered over time, reputations earned. They've been watched. Those that have use of such, have now called upon the very best. Lists compiled have had names selected. Plans have been made. Bargains struck, deals brokered, promises to fulfill. Forces hope this is there time. . . Hope is not a plan. Those that believe they have the leashes of the dogs now put their plans into play. ==== Nearly two months since the Fall of Zuggarat. Sylandra has been making milk runs on a small bulk carrier, Witchbreath; a Hornet Class Fast Transport. She and the contact of those that pay the bills have been setting up the premise that this little ship is just doing business. Rose is the broker. The other hunters gathered per instructions. They'd been give an advance, told to lay low. They'd accepted the job and to back out, well, it was made plain what that would mean. At a large commercial skyplex above Londinium - they arrived with their new forged papers and identity cards. They were to go to the Twister Transport Company and present their papers for 'Witchbreath', a small speedy transport. What they knew of the job was little, except it was big. Once on board would be able to transfer the bulk of their payment to other accounts. Then they'd be 'on ice'. Sealed to their fate. Only the job would remain. Only then the details revealed, the target unveiled. It had all the making of being obviously dangerous, and certainly one in which if they were captured would mean more than a certain death. If not by those they'd be targeting, then by those paying them. ===== Witchbreath was docked at a lower class berth. From the outside she looked like she was long overdue for a refit. Rose, dark haired and vixen-like in her cheap tight leather garments. The whole operation looked like some sort of third class shipping outfit. If they didn't go out of business, then they'd be run out of it by Alliance Inspectors. Sylandra was close by, flight plans to file. By all appearance another milk run rush deliver to some rich family that could afford to ship even the smallest item around the core as though it were across town.

Sixty four days, three hours, four minutes and twenty seconds. That's how much time had elapsed since Travis had decided to take this second job from Lucian Hollows. The first had been like nothing else he'd ever experienced, nor would he be able to tell any tales of his feats, so when a second opportunity arose from the same client, his answer was given quickly. Little did he know what was to follow. Every job had some amount of setup time. Getting spotters in place, learning routines, getting comfortable with all the variables. It had been two months, and they'd yet to be given even a name. Life onboard the Grey Reyne had been tense for TK, even at the best of times. The Captain and his crew were full of questions and prying eyes. Even the most social facet of his personality was succinct, an example of the self practised professionalism of the Hunter. But they'd been order to lay low, and the money was certainly good enough, for the first time in long while, TK found himself obeying orders. Then finally the day came, Captain Harmon announced that they were approaching Londinium and their journey had come to an end, or at the very least a beginning. Travis already had his geared stowed and ready to move, offering each of the crew a silent goodbye nod before making his way onto the large skyplex alongside his two new comrade hunters. Having spent so long aboard the small vessel, TK immediately moved into the bustling crowds of people before him, losing himself in the ebb and flow briefly as he pushed his way toward one of the large observation windows. He placed a hand against the window, trying to brush at patches of cloud on the planet below. Looking directly down, he spotted a lower docking ring, instantly recognising the air of criminality about it with a grin. TK turned to the two others hunters and sighed. "Glad to be off that heap, not that the Witchbreath sounds any finer..." |

Sylandra squatted at the upper edge of the cargo ramp; dungarees and tank top, hair in one long braid that reached almost to her lower back, oversized sunshades covering her eyes so that no one could tell if she were really awake or just being very quiet. Indeed, she was very observant, watching the few low lifes making their way along the lower ring. This was the lowest dregs of station life. Flight plans had been filed, but they were still awaiting the "cargo" that should have been here already. She kept watch. Over the past weeks, playing the hard luck merchants, getting the lay of the land around Londinium; she had never been in the Core before. It bothered her to see so many, such large throngs of people, all with so much to do. City buildings that reached into high atmo, almost too high to believe. But not up here. Up here was comfortable for her. The dirt, the waste, the poor. This was so much like home that it almost hurt. An air blower kicked in some distance away, blowing loose paper waste into a dust devil. She watched it spin and swirl in its zig-zag path along the corridor, seeking some distant exit. A chuckle echoed up from her chest, but she swallowed it down and turned to watch a different direction. |

Waiting was something that Silvia was good at, she made the best of the situation by doing what she does best that doesn't involve killing people, saving them. A good doctor can be hard to find on a space station, especially after various outbreaks and disasters on board, so until she got more information and her ride was ready she took to working in the infirmary. She was deliberate with her time working in the infirmary and when she found that the Witchbreath was ready for a crew she put in the request for a transfer to become that ship's official doctor and once that was approved she made her way to the docking corridor with her medical kits and a small dufflebag of clothing. She may not know who the target is yet but she'll be ready to do her part. |

"Welcome." Rose looked rather uninterested in those coming on board; at least to any observers. "Get settled in, we need to get our butt out of here. Inspectors are hot and heavy to delay everyone gorram ship on this station to meet some quota." The airlock is rough looking, and it's not until one gets away from the line of sight from the air lock that the ship suddenly takes on a different look. Rose locks up after them and leads them to the lounge and Galley. "It's safe to talk here, or anywhere on the ship." She tossed out another stack of one thousand credits toward everyone. "Last chance. Cash out and leave; no questions asked. Or I'll wave the money anywhere you want. After we leave here though, it's all in. Dangerous but not suicidal. Real danger will be later; repercussions could be heavy." |

Sylandra had waited for the new members to arrive and introduced them to Rosie before heading back up to the bridge, and settling in to her seat. |

With a smirk Silvia looked at Rosie, You need a good doctor around here. I'll set up in the medical bay. She casually strolled along to the med bay where she begins to set things up in her fashion. |

"Yes, we might. But I'm counting on not." Rose explained where the Doc bunk was. It wasn't really a med bay, the ship being too small; but it was set up to serve as one. There was the usual small ship full med kit but a couple of emergency combat med and surgical kits as well. Just the thing for folk that might need more than a sudden patching up. --- On the bridge Sylandra received a standard comm. "Inspection team, stand by for check off." It was hard to tell if this was just a couple little things, or the full tap tap snoop and try to stick it to someone sort of thing. "Open please." It was bad luck. Witchbreath had not carried a single item they should not have been. But the last stop, Sylandra and Rose had tucked away a small arsenal of weapons and illicit gear in the clever hidey holes. |

Travis remained silent before the offer, instead waiting a few moments before responding. "No need, I'm anxious to get under way myself." he said, placing his only bag on the floor with a soft 'click'. "I was led to believe that once aboard this vessel, the true nature of this job would be revealed." TK paused, taking a few steps away from the table to examine the rest of the galley. "I understand your employers desire for discretion, but it's been two months now and still not a word. I'm a hunter, not some 'by the hour' butcher, and you have yet to give me so much as name." he said, coming to stop a few metres from Rose, eyes locked firmly on the woman. |

Sylandra tapped the intercom. "Rose, we've got company. Some inspection team. I'll lock down the navcomp and meet you at the cargo hatch." She shut down the main console and secured the bridge before hustling down to the cargo bay to "greet" the inspectors. |

Rose met TK's stare, held it. Though if it was just to stifle being intimidated or to try and establish some authority - not enough time passed. She nodded slightly to indicate her understanding when Sylandra made her pronouncement. Rose let a slight concern show on her face but held the stare. She leaned a little closer, just like someone might before a blade comes out. One did in a way, in the two words that identified their target. "Mac. Seliator." she said quiet just so he could hear. As Sylandra came through the lounge on her way to the air lock she stopped her for a moment. "Just present the papers Sylandra." Rose looked to Slade Jackson. "You handle this. We can't handle a moderately close inspection. If they come on board and find something, we'll have to kill them and explode the bolts on the station lock." Rose looked back to Travis and smiled like a cat with a canary in its mouth.

The doctor looked out into the cargo bay while preparing a few things of her own in the medical 'lab' quietly eyeing up the inspectors and the seemingly nervous crew. A sigh escaped her throat as she headed down to join everyone else while holding her black medical kit in hand, Nervous? she quietly asked Travis, not wanting to interrupt Rose and the inspectors. |

After Rose politely indicated to the inspectors that Slade and Sylandra would be the Witchbreath agents in such a mundane matter she moved to herd everyone back inside the ship. She guided them to 'her' suite. The door to the private room had the same sealed security door as all rooms on Witchbreath. Secure to sound and comms that is, not so much forced entry. Rose moved quickly across the room to the table next to one of the aftermarket full wall windows to the black. From it Londinium loomed below, it being opposite the air lock which was linked to the station. She tapped the screen and a display of Sylandra, Slade and the two inspectors appeared. Rose opened a small bar just off to the side, "Drink?" The displayed selection was small, but top shelf of the usual liquers. Edited by Tojoyama, May 20 2013, 11:49 PM.

Slade approached the inspectors, a white collar securely fastened about his neck. He smiled and offered an ID and handshake to the lead man, a hundred credits tucked in the palm. "Good day, Sirs. My name is Shepard Henry Williams. I've hired this ship and crew to pick up and deliver badly needed medical supplies to a boarder planet. I'd rather not delay, as time is an important factor and could mean lives." Jackson gave the gathered men a worried look, as though he were truely moved by the thought of souls lost to death by the inspection. |

Sylandra arrived in time to hear Rose inform the inspectors that she and Slade would be their contact personnel. She grinned sideways at Rose as she turned to lead the passengers away. "Yessirs. Uh, anythin' I can help with, show you the hold, that sort'a stuff. Just ask. Name's Syl. Fine 'nuff for you." |

Travis took a step backwards and let out a long sigh, before turning to Silvia. "Not any more " he replied with a smile. "I suppose you could prescribe me something should that not be the case." he continued, glancing down at her medical kit, before returning his gaze to the now departing inspectors. "I'll bet you my fee he's pulling the ole Shepard routine." TK said with a low laugh. |

Silvia chuckled a bit and nodded, I could prescribe something to cure any ailment for anyone. she mentioned and then when she watched the shepherd talking to the inspectors and then Travis' bet to her she shook her head, I don't take a fool's bet. If he's really a preacher, I'm not really a fully accredited medical doctor. She smirks at him and then walks back to the medical bay. |

The inspectors made a great show of having nothing to do with Slade's request. They entered the airlock, the first inspector showed the second inspector the product of his greased palm. They made small talk about the buxomness of some wench, the prospects of the Fighting Elves upcoming season, then, "All seems to be in order here Shepherd." and the left. A few minutes later Witchbreath received an all clear for immediate departure. "Front of the queue, nicely done." Rose said without looked toward Slade. "Flight plan to Blue Sun North Wales warehouse 1491 Sylandra." She looked around, "then to specifics." |

Slade waved goodbye to the inspectors until the docking bay door was closed, then he removed his collar. He replaced it in his bag, and retrieved his pipe and tobacco. He filled the bowl with fresh leaf, lit it, and found himself a place to sit. He had done well, and figured he'd earned his bad habit. |

Sylandra shrugs off the inspectors lack of detail, paying attention to secure the hatch leading out to the docking ring and turned back toward the bridge. "Yes'm. Route to Blue Sun North Wales right 'way. " She dashed into the cockpit and slide into her seat, unlocking the console and flipping the switches back on for the NavComp and entering the destination codes. As she watched the computer scroll up the statistics and clearances for the flight plan, she hummed a simple little diddy that she had heard 'way back when' from some other pilot so long ago. As the board flashed up green, she tapped the comm button. "Ready to unclamp and descend. Stand by for atmo. Might be a bump 'r two." She toggled the docking clamps to release and let the altitude jets gently push the Witch away from the docking ring before bringing the throttle slowly forward and the ship thundered as the thrusters came online and pushed hard away from the orbital station. The Witchbreath slid further away from the huge structure and turned her nose toward the planet below. The navcomp numbers started spinning up on Syl's console as grid points realigned on the nav screen. Pinpoints flickered all around them as Space Traffic Control spec'd out the other craft in orbit or traveling to and from the surface. A green arc presents itself, centered on the screen, bending around the far side and extending into the background of the planet. "Rose, looks like we have a long drop 'round to other side. Prob'ly hour or two to landfall. Goin' auto." She punched in the necessary code to put the preferred course into operation and pushed back on her chair, stretching out her long legs and raising her arms over her head. |
