Karyn cursed silently as the message came through. She took off at a dead run toward the lift, heading toward Level 5 to try to intercept the fugitive. As she went, she tapped her comm. "Report to Maru that subject Hawke is loose and is somewhere on Level 5. I'm heading there myself. We have other situations developing as well. I have determined Hawke to be the more dangerous, so am handling that first. I'll keep him informed as the situation develops. What's the sitrep on those additional troops?" |

Jenna knodded her head and smiled. At this moment she wanted nothing more then to find a way out of this place.
Jenna scooted back into her cell and waited until something happened. Shortly after she could hear some sort of a fight going on and then nothing. She peered out into the hallway and look towards where she was sure that Silas had gone.
Jenna moved back into the hallway and quickly peeked into the room. A smile crossed her face when she saw all of her stuff was in the locker. Grabbing everything she quickly stuffed her clothes into the bag and looked at the other stuff in front of her. "These could come in handy." She said to no one in particular as she reached for a couple of the smoke grenades stuffing them in to her bag. As Jenna turned to leave the room a com on the wall buzzed to life. "Detention Block A, report in." Jenna froze. "Oh crap now what?" Jenna watched as Silas went to the com and spoke into it.
There was no reply and that scared Jenna a little maybe they were on their way up here and they were going to throw her back into the cell. That thought didn't sit well with her so she turned to talk to the others and see what the next part of the plan was. As she did Sonya looked at her and called her name.
Jenna stopped and looked at Sonya. it seemed like she was trying to remember something and then suddenly she started talking the words suddenly coming out in a jumbled mess
Jenna shook her head. "I'm not sure what happened to you while you were here but we can explain to you what happened to you before you got here. I just think that it would better if we do it someplace safer then here. You don't have to worry your safe with us." |

Hawke Within seconds he dropped two of the security officers, broom still in hand. The other scientists began to yell and scream as they ran in the opposite direction. Tobias saw Dr. Grimm frantically pushing the elevator button to shut it on Tobias. But, Tobias was faster. He shoved the good doctor against the elevator wall hard. Once the elevator door shut, he flipped the emergency stop switch, rendering the elevator useless. There Tobias Hawke stood. It was strange feeling, meeting his maker. Like staring at the face of God. Dr. Grimm cowered in a seating position as he looked up at the enraged Tobias. "Don't hurt me Havoc. I will tell you anything you want to know. You need me." Karyn The Lt. Commander tried the elevator, but it wasn't working. It appeared as though the emergency stop switch was activated as pressing the button indicated there was power. Karyn's ear piece came to life with a panicked voice. "Hawke's got one of the Blue Sun scientists in the elevator! I think it's Dr. Grimm! We can't get it open! I need medics down here! We got multiple men down!" Edited by loneviking, Mar 30 2013, 11:25 PM.

Remy was out of the cell, and like usually, it seemed like Biff was taking over, to be fair, Remy's mind was going into overload with Sonya being there, and well, Remy wasn't really a plan kinda guy, so having Biff there was good for him and Jenna as a whole. Remy listened to Biff, and nodded at his question of whether he was ready to move. Then he and Sonya got into a conversation and once again, Remy was floored that she was there. Jenna piped in, and Remy noticed what she did as well. Everything seemed to be a blur, but she was right, here they were just standing, almost waiting to get recaptured... again Silas piped up with an idea, telling them to get back in their cells, Remy didnt like that idea, afterall, he had only just got out, going back in wasn't an option, even if it was as part of a plan to take out any guards, but it seemed like Biff was ok with the idea, and with Biff their defacto leader, Remy wasn't going to argue, and went into a cell with Jenna, not wanting to be alone inside. Then everything started to fall into place, with Silas taking control. Remy didn't really know the guy, apart from him being Biffs friend, and that had to make him OK in Remys book, although he wasn't going to go all out and completely trust him, but he was going some ways into earning his trust. Their stuff was there, and Remy grabbed it all, his swords came out of their casing, he would need them, especially if there was going to be a fight ahead of them. Whilst Remy wasn't a fan of violence, he would have to defend himself. Remy overheard a conversation between Jenna and Sonya, but didn't pay attention to it, his mind was on surviving at the moment. |

Security Control - Detention Block A Silas realized that the silence on the other end of the radio wasn't good. The jig was up. "Come on!" Silas yelled, seemingly rather annoyed that everyone was taking so long to move. Grabbing the keycard of the unconscious guard, he ran towards the elevator. Suddenly there was a chime sound as the elevator doors open. A squad of 7 Alliance Security Officer's dressed in full riot gear and rifles entered into the hallway. They entered in a tactical formation with rifles at the ready. Silas's eyes widened with surprise as he reacted by drawing his sidearm and pointing at them and firing. He ran back towards Biff and the group, firing towards the security personnel as he ran. "Take cover!" Silas yelled as the sound of gunfire echoed through the halls. Bullets ripped through the body of Silas as blood and guts exploded out of his chest, blood oozing from his mouth. Silas acted as a meat shield, hundreds of bullets blowing through him like swiss cheese and impacting the walls around them. He fell forwards, his body limp as he dropped his handgun. One of the Security Officer's radioed into the Lt. Commander. "We have one hostile down, proceeding to clear the block as we were fired upon. We have an escape attempt in Detention Block A. Possibly further armed hostiles." The squad moved in formation towards the Control area. The group with Biff had multiple walls to take cover, including inside of Security Control. Silas never ceases to amaze me. Since I met him during the war. Biff went into the control room and located his gear and put some real clothes on. He gave them a smell and realized the Alliance had washed everything. My little Alliance maid service. Heh. He check Suzanne to make sure they didn't take the firing pin and he did the same for his sidearm. Then he put on one of the suits of riot gear and grabbed a couple smoke grenades. Then the intercom came to life. They had to move out. Biff moved out into the hallway as Silas said and pushed past him. Before Biff could say anything to him the elevator opened up and the goon squad arrived. He bore witness to the passing of his friend while everyone took cover he just stood there. It happened as if in slow motion. Their escape from Shadow, their run ins since, all of it flashed before Biff's eyes like picture on picture on a heads up display. Biff flattened against the wall and unslung Suzanne who like him burned with rage. Before the red mask fell upon him he had the foresight to throw the two smoke grenades he picked up. As the white smoke plumed up the red curtain lowered on his vision and all that remained of Biff was the killer. Before the smoke fully obscured the goons Biff barely brought Suzanne away from the wall and pulled off two shots at two of the murderers heads. |

Requiem for a Hawke
|
Taking his finger off the button, knowing he had a few minutes to chat with his creator, he felt a strange sense of calm. It was calm in spite of anger, in spite of rage. The broom clacked against the elevator, sliding neatly to rest in a corner as it slipped from Havoc's hand. Turning, he pressed his back against the frame of the elevator, and slid down it, sitting down next to Dr. Grimm. His knees were bent up, and he rested his arms on them all too casually. "Presumin' a bit much there, Doc. I made it this far without ya, eh? And, for the record, since I woke up in Eavesdown, I've only killed in self-defense. You don't do anything that hurts me, you don't die - it's a real simple arrangement." Pushing his baseball-style cap up and shooting the cowering man a cheeky smirk, amber eyes almost glowing in the dark. He sighed, letting his head bonk against the wall gently as he gazed up into nothing. "So I'm a super soldier then, right? My bodycount for the last week makes some confirmed kill records from the war look like boot camp." He glanced sidelong at the doctor, still a good head and shoulders above the man even though they were both on the floor. "How'd it all go down? You just whisk me off the street, some nobody with the right whatever, jack me up with a bunch of experimental crap, and wipe my memory? Why me? Somethin' special about me?" The tone he spoke with was like he was shooting the breeze, talking hypotheticals with an old acquaintance. "I mean, I can see why you'd want me back and all, no need to explain that. But why'd this all happen in the first place? Why do you even need super soldiers? War's over. You won..." |

Hawke The doctor while showing fear had an almost angry tone. He felt uneasy about Tobias sitting right next to him. "You call yourself a Soldier? You were a failed experiment. You didn't take to the syrum like we expected. You were unpredictable, uncontrollable and too aggressive. That day you escaped from the facility was the day you were scheduled for termination. We couldn't get you to respond to our code words. We choose you because you were had the potential to be a reader. However your psychic ability never really developed." "You were just a scum Pirate of an ancient relic of a ship that just so happened to test the limits by trying to capture an Alliance Cruiser. Most of your crew escaped, but we got some of them. We shot your shuttle down while you were escaping back to your ship. We found you in rubble, with one arm and barely alive. Instead of putting a bullet in you, we wanted to try the program with you. No one cared if you were alive or dead. As far as red tape was concerned, there was none. You ceased to exist from that moment. You were never born." The scientist laughed. "The War is never over Havoc.." He smiled and rested his hands in his lap. "Surrender yourself now and I can make this all go away. Besides, it's been a month since your last dose. If you are not feeling weaker, then you will soon. Then comes the withdrawal." Banging could be heard from the top of the elevator shaft. Edited by loneviking, Mar 31 2013, 01:46 AM.

Silas was leading them, he seemed to want to get out of there, he wasn't messing around, they ran to the elevator and all of a sudden were up against Alliance officers. Remy looked at the rest of them, and didnt have to be told twice to take cover, which he did, jumping behind the nearest thing he could find. Just a moment before he jumped, he saw Silas ripped apart by the bullets. It would have been a image which would have stuck in his mind, but it seemed since he escaped jail once before, that sights like this were becoming more and more common. Remy would have to mourn him later. |

One of the Security Personnel took a bullet from Biff to the helmet as it shattered the visor and exploded his head, causing brain matter to spray in his helmet and against the wall. The other aborbed the bullet in his vest, stumbling slightly. The smoke grenades were launched and obstructed their vision. They placed gas masks on and in retaliation they unloaded hundreds of bullets wildly towards the group until they had to reload. One of them got on a comm. "Vasquez is down! I repeat Vasquez is down!" The Security Personnel didn't realize that the elevator behind them closed and was queued upwards. Edited by loneviking, Mar 31 2013, 02:09 AM.

Karyn slammed her fist against the elevator door. She could hear the echo of gunfire being transmitted up the shaft. A dark pain ached in the back of her neck and creeped up her scalp to embed itself in her temple. Her vision started to go black as tunnel vision kicked in as well. She screamed at the frustrating door before gripping the edge of the elevator door and trying to pry it open manually. It was no use. She was feeling trapped; her job falling apart as she stood by helpless. She swiped her security card against the keypad but it responded in a flashing red. "STATUS!! What's going on with elevator 17? It's locked out and I can hear gunfire. Do we have visual on the occupants? " [* Karyn had requested that elevators be put on security override. *] |

Biff smirked as the goons fired wildly into the smoke. No one could see anyone else now and that was fine with him. He got to one knee still pressed as tightly to the wall as aiming would allow he waited for the pause in the shooting. When it came he fired seven shots just above knee level as both a cover fire for his friends to make their move as well as handicapping any of the goons he hit. He was after all wearing the same riot gear so he knew the there was a joint in the armor above the knee guard and below the upper leg. He didn't really care if he hit them His blade would shuffle them off as they stumble through the smoke. In his non firing hand he gripped his combat knife while steadying his rifle. Silas I'm sorry I got you into this. |

Jenna shook her head. "I'm not sure what happened to you while you were here but we can explain to you what happened to you before you got here. I just think that it would better if we do it someplace safer then here. You don't have to worry your safe with us." "right." Sonya answered as she went through some lockers, half expecting to find her things, though of course they were not there. She pulled off the med top, looked over her bare arms and torso. Body tone looked sharper, she'd lost what little fat she had on her body; which explained more of her lack of endurance. Her mind ignored for the moment the days in the med bed. "And.." she remembered. Their leader, "Biff, said he was here. Another terrorist." She shrugged talking to no one in particular as she recanted another part of the conversation she'd overheard and just made the connection that soldier leader has said his name was Biff. She found a shirt that was to big, and a jacket. No pants, and shoes that were too large, but with the slippers still on they fit well enough. And a rifle, standard. She took a magazine slipped it in and sat it aside. "the rooms change around a lot. But then I haven't slept really for awhile." The big find was the Grape Sun soda and two extra fruity oat bars. She drank and ate as she dressed and rambled. "And I might be somewhat over medicated." Gulliver burped after the last bite of oaty bar, rifle sling on her shoulder. She looked like a horrible b film pirate: greasy hair, over big jacket, dirty cotton-like pants and oversized boots. "There was a nurse named Nine, or Nin. She was nice." When the shooting started she slipped behind one of the heavy locker doors, bullets hit it pushing it against her. It had been a long time since she fired a weapon at anyone. Sonya had always been a good enough shot at the target competitions, but people; something about that always went wrong. Still, it seemed the role she had now. At the pause in gunfire she moved from behind the locker door, kneeled in proper shooting form and fired shots in a steady breath shoot breath pattern. Targets, if she saw them, others imagined in the smoke. Edited by Tojoyama, Mar 31 2013, 08:45 AM.

With a shake of his head, Becker took a few steps back toward Trina and Dom to cater to their vested interest. "We're not gonna get any answers unless we talk to some Chief, which means heading into the ship." He passed looks between the doctor and pilot and despite how naive he could be, Mike got a indistinct impression. "Which I kinda feel is an idea you two really wouldn't be keen on." "Problem is, as safe as we may be," he paused looking back into the Alliance ship, "I don't wanna leave us without a front of security." "We wait until the captain rolls in and keep our own eyes on things 'til then?" He asked, openly seeking suggestion. |

Detention Block A - Control Room Hallway Biff and Sonya fired off a barrage of bullets. They heard a thud as another one of the the Security Force dropped. Sonya had one more magazine as well as Biff. Need to make them count. The smoke cleared as Biff and Sonya began to reload. Two red canisters rolled towards them. Unable to react they exploded, causing a bright white light and piercing ear drums from the ringing. Multiple bullets hit Biff square in the chest before he could take cover, knocking him flat on his back. A bullet grazed Sonya's arm as she dove out of the way. The Purple-Bellies were angry. They exchanged another flurry of bullets with Biffs group before reloading again. There were debris and smoke everywhere. The hallway was virtually destroyed. "We need backup down here. Jones is down!" One of the squad radioed in, sounding distressed. The elevator slowly descended back downwards to the Detention Block again. Karyn Her ear piece had static and then a voice. "Lt. Commander. The elevator is manually locked. I can't over-ride it. I have a visual of Hawke and Dr. Grimm in the elevator. You need to enter the elevator maintenance hatch on the side and take the ladder down to the elevator and go in above it. The gunfire is coming from the elevator on the opposite side. Number 15 leading to Detention Block A. That elevator is operational and they are requesting reinforcements. What should we do Sir?" Edited by loneviking, Mar 31 2013, 09:39 AM.

"No problem by me, as long as I get to take Hawke out of here when I leave. You have any problem with that?" Ian was up in a moment and pulled out his PDA. He approached the door controls and attached some cables. He began his hack of the system. He was sure that in short order the door would open and they'd be on there way. "I have a ship on the docking bay. She should be ready to go at a moment notice. You guys got transportation?" A beat. "Have everything ready to go, we'll be outta here in a jiff." |

Trina bit her lip. Waiting just didn't seem to sit well with her. Turning, she headed not to her room, but back into the med bay and looked around for her personal medical bag. Finally spotting it, she went over and tore through it until she found what she was looking for. Her cortex link. "He needs to know now. They cut into the hull and then we get sparking inside the ship?" She spoke over her shoulder as she began typing out a message. Slowly, as she focused on the message she was preparing, she rejoined Mike and Dom in the hall. "I can't believe that's anything normal, Mike. And this 'Chief' is more than likely suddenly not available to us, I'd wager. If nothing else, we keep Ian apprised of what's happening here and he can ask questions where he is. Maybe even find Khei and see her back safely." Her eyes lifted a couple of times to look at Mike, but generally stayed on the cortex link. Finally, she held the device out to him so he could read the message.
"If it's alright by you, go ahead and send it, but something about 'hull repairs' bothers me. I don't recall taking any damage in this whole fiasco unless it happened in the half hour I was sleeping." Trina pressed her lips together and put her hands on her hips. With the growing worry in regards to whatever repairs had been made, she was now starting to worry about the well being of Ian, Khei and Tristan. |

There was an undercurrent of mistrust toward the Alliance that becker gave weight to being paranoia. He'd kept himself away from the war and never truly laid himself to a side, though in the spacing walk of life most people's coats were brown and there was little positivity for the Alliance. Mike investigated where hull repairs had been made. "I assumed it was connected." Becker sighed and ran a hand over his head and to the back of his neck. "When er. The guys were let on the ship, they started chopping Glory up for parts. When I checked it out, I saw some damage but..." He'd freed up his hand and was now shaking his head. "I'm no grease monkey, couldn't tell you how deep it went." "Send the message. Dugan'll play it smart from his end. Dom, let's head up to the bridge and make sure all the blinking lights work. Least we'll want is a working ship that can get us somewhere more comfortable." Mike nodded as if to confirm the validity of his own plan. |

"Whuuph..." Biff tried to remember what it was like to breathe. The bullets hitting his armor bruised his already battered torso but he was recovering his wits faster then even he expected. He was on auto pilot. Years of training and all of his experiences in the war made him into this core robot that feels nothing and simply acts. Biff rose up, I'm up targeted another goon fired twice, he sees me and dove into the control booth I'm down. After that last bit of movement his chest was on fire. His not quite healed ribs were enjoying the wonderful bruises from the bullets. God I hate getting shot! Biff waited from behind cover for the bullets to start up and for the end to come. I good end with good friends. An honorable end regardless of what the news waves would say. |
