All the cells in the detention block opened with a whooshing sound. It was strange how security hadn't responded yet.

Without a word, Slade stood. In a single fluid motion, the sniper slid TK's rifle down one arm and left the big weapon resting on the table. For his own defense, Jackson's free hand went to the small of his back, and pulled out the handgun he'd picked up at the warehouse back on the planet's surface. He'd be more at home with a sniper rifle in hand, but the one in his back would leave him open to fire as he tried to assemble it, and the plasma he wanted to save until he really needed it, as he had no ammo refills. To signal he was ready, he looked at TK and gave a nod.

The smoke was acrid and burned Trina's nose, eyes, throat and lungs. Starting to cough, she pulled at the over sized shirt to cover her nose and mouth. Her eyes started to water a little and she started to waive the air in front of her, trying to clear it. Attempting a deeper breath than she'd been able to with the coughing only brought on a faint hint of dizziness.

She leaned a little heavier on the wall, continuing to breathe through the fabric of her shirt until she felt the dizziness pass. Even once the dizziness past, she kept her shirt up over her nose and mouth for a few more deep breaths. With her free hand, she wiped away the tears in her eyes before letting the shirt drop from her face. "I don't think they are, Mike. Usually..." she had to pause for a slow breath. "Usually when circuits smoke and spark like that, it isn't a good sign."

Tobias

While Tobias neared the Maintenance door, he saw Dr. Grimm and several other scientists being escorted by two Security Personnel armed with rifles. They were moving quickly down another hallway. The scientists looked spooked.

Infirmary

Khei was placed on a medical table where her wound was tended to and patched up. The rest of the room was empty. There was one other door in the room besides the entrance and it was locked with a keypad.

Either Becker had not been heard or he'd simply been ignored. Eyes widened in disbelief as he kept looking towards the worker, who seemed less concerned about the ships condition. His stare broke when Trina spoke, and he looked to see her leaning against the wall for support.

"You're good right? I'm catching you far too often lately."

WHOOSH! The cell opened and Biff stepped out with Remy giving him a look that said "yeah I saw her too buddy".

Biff was in military mode and he needed to see that his squad was okay having already seen Remy was fine. Biff walked to each cell looking in. "Jenna, Silas you guys ready to move?"Seeing they were both awake he figured they like Remy were no worse for ware.

Turning back towards the door Sonya left he saw her return from the control room. Her visage sent yet another chill down his spine. She WAS dead. He walked towards her stood with Remy.

Thanks for the assist. You are a sight for sore eyes. We haven't properly been introduced, I'm Biff Calhoon. Did you happen to see equipment lockers back in the control room? Our gear shouldn't be far from the cells I hope. Biff took a moment for Sonya to take in the abrupt introduction. He realized having finally got a good look at her that he may be overwhelming her considering what she obviously had just been through.

He continued to update his friends as if they were his unit, which given the stress of the situation he was having bits of flashbacks. "I don't know what's worse then all of us getting out but security seems to be wonderfully detained. Gear or no gear we take advantage of this. Remember we aren't who they say we are so no deaths if we have any conflicts at all."

Sonya watched Remy. He seemed to be in the state she felt herself wavering in and out of. Just what that other state was she wasn't sure. It seemed more a continuous wavering than actually being in any state. And why wasn't he rushing over to her? Why did she expect he would?

And now the military guy was taking charge. He reminded her of Ian, no options; little chance and here was some guy getting everyone on the move and doing something. Sonya was about to think this time they had a leader, so it'd be just fine. This time. That was a weird thing. How many times had she done this?

Biff's questions just drifted past her as she eyed the cot in one of the cells. 'yes.'
'no' said Ninjar, his hand on her shoulder. 'you don't ever stop. you drop'.
Sonya shooked his hand offer her shoulder, frowned at his return with a roll of her eyes.

The poet warrior had just said something profound. Sonya repeated it, incorrectly,
". . we aren't who we say we are. . " she said quietly. 'wow'

Gulliver looked back to the room from which she had come. "So. Who?"

Requiem for a Hawke
The corridors came again. He had faced infinite corridors before, and through no fault of his own, bested them. The sickly, wet padding of blood-stained footsteps running down the hall found the sterile ship interior to come to an all-too-quick end; a much further journey was almost expected at this point. The blurred last few seconds flashed before his eyes, a vicious faux-deja vu clawing at his supposed reality; an endless torrent of nostalgia of the living moment - he had done it all before, but never in his known life. No terror is greater to a man than reliving his every waking second, only to have the crushing reality descend on him that the sum total of his every waking second is so short it can be relived on the run.

At the closet door, he was faced with a terrible choice. Buck naked and weaponless, the fight was useless - they would come soon, and they would come armed to the teeth with dogs that bite from fifty yards or more. He stood no chance unarmed, though his bare body served no roadblock to his unnerving, unknown martial prowess. The bloodied face of the reaver flashed before his eyes as he pressed his only fist against the door to the closet, mechanical limb turned weapon still clenched in hand. Blood felt as if it dripped from every fibre of his being, and the he saw its face again - not the race filled monster that had attacked him, but the cold, still face of a dead thing that was once a man... And a hundred others, bodies that lingered in the wake of his short, short life since that day in Eavesdown.

A whiff of cold air in his nose slammed his mind back down from its lofty prison, into the cold, hard metal of the door before him. Peeling his head from it, Tobias quickly pressed the arm he held back into its socket. With a grunting hiss and a whirr, the socket grumpily accepted the arm, though it sounded none too pleased about its damaged state. With a grimace, he haphazardly began bending the fractured and sheered metal pieces of his remnant arm into a less flayed position, and he earned a slice across his thumb for the trouble. The sudden raw absence of pain in the face of an injury had him jerk his hand away, gazing at the split flesh as the long, searing pain that followed set in. He briefly pondered stuffing the now bleeding thumb into his mouth, the thought shifting hazily into a contemplation on the opinions of soldiers who would find a buck naked escapee sucking on his thumb.

With even less time to spare, Tobias hurriedly flung open the maintenance closet, and began rummaging immediately for an outfit that would fit him. It was, by far, the oldest and dumbest trick in the book, and a modern Alliance vessel such as this would have scanners at every damned intersection, but he needed time, and this was a start. Before he dirtied up any of the potential disguises, Hawke quickly set about seeking out any of the filled buckets for mopping - any non toxic non irritant liquid would do at this point - he knew in the back of his mind that even a spot of blood on the disguise would ruin it, and so he set about cleaning the visible blood from himself; as if his notable facial scarring, amber eyes, distinctive height and sheered metal limb weren't enough to wreck a disguise. As he rummaged, he remembered to tie off the left sleeve of whatever he put on; the now reshaped metal of his arm gave it the vague appearance of a stump, and with a tied sleeve over it, it would have to be enough to carry the disguise onward. He slapped on a hat, smoothed out his overgrown stubble, closer kin to a beard now, and grabbed the nearest unbloodied broom.

Huh. Sweeping the decks used to mean something entirely different back in the day... He blinked, speaking internally.

If only I could remember why. A grimaced sigh followed as he backed out of the closet, sweeping his way up a corridor, away from his bloodied footprints as fast as possible.

From her hidding place under the bed Jenna listened to the things going on.She wasn't sure but she thought she heard the lock on the door click and watched as the door opened.

"Jenna, Silas you guys ready to move?"

Jenna scrambled out from under the bed and out through the door. She stopped in front of Biff Remy and finally got a good look at Sonya

"Hi glad you're alright." She looked at Biff and Remy as if to ask what we should be doing next.

"Um guys does anyone else thinks it's a little weird that there are no guards comming to put us back in our cells? I mean there are cameras all over the place and no one has realised that we are hanging out in the hall."

"You're good right? I'm catching you far too often lately."

Trina smiled, but felt a little guilty about the fact being true. Taking a few more breaths to clear her lungs, despite the lingering thin smoke, she only nodded faintly at first. Her eyes looked past Mike for a moment. "Keep an eye on them. We'll want to tell the captain what happened in his absence."

Pushing herself to stand upright, she put one hand on her hip and then rubbed her eyes. She needed to go lay back down, but she was worried about Khei and their other injured with what was happening now on the ship. "Keep an eye out for them bringing Khei back, please?" Her hand dropped away from her eyes and she looked at Mike and then Dom. "I'm going to go do the right thing and lay myself down and rest. Unless you don't mind me watching from the hatch?"

Biff smiled at Jenna."Something big must be happening elsewhere but that's alright in my book. We're seizing this opportunity!

"When the guard comes in to do his tour, I'm taking him! Everyone get into a cell out of the way!"

Biff nodded smiling at Silas. This wasn't his usual cup o' tea but he hated to be rooted in one place especially under the Alliances boot heel. Biff whispered, "Silas be careful." Biff went over to the cell closest to Silas and ducked in.

"Alright everyone lets take positions."

Becker conceded Trina's care to Dom, watching her ask for his permission. He put his efforts back where they were needed and attempted to summon the engineer's attention. On one hand, he put his thumb and middle finger together at their points and inserted the construction into his mouth. With a blow of air he was able to elicit a loud whistle that would hopefully turn heads.

"So is someone gonna give me some answers?"

An enginner that was finishing bolting the hull looked over at Becker. "What do you need? We are a little busy here." He slid to the ground from his harnass and unbuckled himself. The engineer lit his cigar and blow smoke in Becker's face. "Well?"

Detention Block A

While everyone took cover in a cell, Silas stood off to the side of the security door, waiting.. A few minutes passed as the door slid open. The guard walked in to begin his tour but was surprised when Silas threw him against the wall and gave him a palm strike to the nose. The Guard slowly slumped downwards and fell over to his side. He was out cold.

Silas grabbed his electro-baton and signaled to the rest of the group to move. Exiting the cell block you could see an enclosed control room with lockers on the outside of it. In the distance at the end of a long hallway was an elevator. A guard suddenly exited the control room and streched as if he just woke up from a nap. Silas charged him with the now sparking baton and whacked him in the head. The guard flew back like a rag doll and was knocked out. Slowly peering into the Control room he signaled to Biff that it was clear. Inside were monitors for the cameras in the Detention Block as well as a locker containing riot gear and smoke grenades.

Walking back out Silas opened the lockers and revealed all of their clothes and equipment. He began throwing his clothes on while holstering his sidearm into his now strapped gun belt.

"We don't have much time." Silas said in a hurry.

A young ensign on the bridge of the IAV Zigg read the information on screen, then swallowed with dread and turned toward the centre of the CIC. "Update on the escaped prisoners sir. Security are responding, we have several confirmed dead so far." She briefly looked down, then continued. "We're tracking Hawke through the medical decks, but there's no sign of the other patient. I'm not sure I see the connection...." he trailed off as Maru suddenly rose from his seat with a low growl. "Enough! There's a connection alright, and I want them found, now." he said coldly, taking a few steps toward the Comms station. The man sitting tried to shrink into his seat, but to no avail. "Do a shipwide status check and get me Wychovski, before I have to go down there myself so help me Lord."

In Karyn's ear, another voice spoke. "It's Maru, he wants an update. Sounds pissed."

Meanwhile in the Detention Block, a comms unit set against the wall buzzed into life. "Detention Block A, report in."

The hit of smoke was endured by Becker turning his head and clamping his eyes and mouth shut. As it thinned, he opened his view again and looked to the engineer. "Outstanding." A less than sincere smile came in tow.

"Well as I said before, we just got sparks shootin' out of half the circuits on board. That faint whiff of smoke that still lingers doesn't bode well for our condition. I need to know if this is your doing and if it's getting fixed."

The greased up engineer took another puff of his cigar. "Look. Any particulars you go to the Chief. I am not here to answer questions. The ship seems fine to me. We are done with the hull repair. I am also on break now." The engineer proceeded to walk away from Becker.

Detention Block A

A comm unit from the Control Room came to life. "Detention Block A report in!"

Silas looked around and took note the name tag of the knocked out guard. He tapped the comm and responded. "Cpl. Wilkins reporting in. Detention Block A is clear." He sighed as he let go of the Comm. "Hope that worked."

Sonya shuffled along as directed. She tried to gather the words to explain that maybe they were looking for her but everytime she managed to formulate some semblance of a sentance they were on the move again.

After Silas made his bluff. 'Silas. Not Silo. And Jenny was the little one.'

"It's a medical ship. or, or a station. got a full medicial... they put me back together." Her eyes squinted close and tight trying to offer some explanation as to why. The memory of the capture pic of her broken body made her shiver. Maybe she had been dead. Or was.

"Jenna." she said outloud without thinking, remembering what someone had called her, not actually meaning to say it outloud. Then she remembered more. "There's terrorists on board, I think they think I'm one. And they think Tobias Hawke is, " she was going to say on board but it came out, "real." Gulliver tried to remember more, what she had overheard. "and here."

"And Red Dawn. Medical vials. They know about it. uhm. What happened to it? Red Dawn I mean."

"and to me?"

Requiem for a Hawke
Immediately, Hawke swept up behind the two guards, literally pushing his broom up behind them as he waited for the elevator.

"'Scuze me, gents." He muttered loudly to get their attention. With wide eyes under his hat, he had no idea exactly what he was about to do, but it would be quick, and it might be bloody.

He gripped the broom tight, and as soon as the first guard turned, he jammed the end of the shaft up under the guard's neck, hard and fast into his throat and jaw. His other limb, mostly useless as it stood, urged him downward as he dropped to a knee, slamming down onto the second guard's rifle. Without pause, he sprung up, ramming his good shoulder into the first guard while bringing the broom around in a sharp sweeping motion, in line with the crook of the second guard's neck.

All the while his eyes were wide and unfocused as he dished out the flurry of blows with only one arm, dressed as a janitor.

Now if only he could stick the landing, have the broom return to sweeping position, and 'sweep' the good doctor into the elevator to have a precious few words with him. That would be, considering his last few days, perhaps a little too easy...
