Conference room

from Travis

"Your superiors wanted this man, alive no less, and we delivered. .... This was never part of the agreement, neither was he."

Ian watched the man as he rose and came toward the table. He wondered who the bounty was.

from Karyn

"You were offered a bounty, and I understand it is being processed even now. What is causing your concern of Mr. Ian and his ship? Is there a problem between you two? If so, I am sure we can work out an arrangement that satisfies your concerns."

He could see that trouble was in the wings.

"Never met this man afore."

He answered the Lt Col

He paused and looked at Travis.

"Yer bounty would not have been a very tall fella that has a penchant for red, would it?"

He was thinking of Bal.... Tobias. They had lost his trail and he figured he might as well ask. No harm right?

Ghost and Ryder all but hummed to him from their holsters.

Dom had been wiping down the counter, when Trina started on cleaning herself. He stopped what he was doing, unable to ignore the pain and fatigue in her eyes. She'd been through hell a million times.

Scratch that.

A million and one. She was barely holding it together he could tell and here she was trying to clean when she should be off her feet.

"I got this covered, if ya know you ain't up to it." His tone soft to semi-mask the fact that he was about ready to carry her to bed if she insisted on this nonsense. She'd lost more blood than some of her charges have in the past and here she was trying to go on.

Slade didn't move from his spot, and like the two others left his hands flat on the table. From the looks of things trouble might be brewing, but the ex-pirate couldn't be sure it would boil over yet or not. He also had no idea, when it hit the fan, which way the stranger at the table would fall. Better to let the woman struggle to keep the peace for now, before opting for a fire fight in the heart of an Alliance ship.

A piece of Glory's Hull fell to the ground, making an extremely loud ringing sound. One of the engineers started to use an electric saw on the now exposed area of the hull.

Travis shook his head and flashed the two a wild smile. "You misunderstand me. My issue is not with him, his ship or yourself, but with this." he said slowly, raising his hands as he spoke. "Hawke is no longer our concern." he then added with a quick glance toward Ian. He moved out from infront of his chair and toward Slade. "So unless you have something else for us...."

Dom's voice cut through the faint fog that was falling around Trina's mind. His words got a short, single yet soft laugh. Her hands paused and her eyes looked down at what she'd been cleaning. The sheets from the bed had proven a little bit more of a struggle than they normally would have been, but now, she was folding them. She couldn't say why though, as bloody as they were.

"I suppose if I say I'm fine, you'll be pulling rank on me." A faint, weak smile curved her lips upwards as she turned to look at Dom. "Won't you, sergeant?"

Not once since he'd come on board had she used his rank in reference to him. However, his subtle hints weren't lost on her. They also brought to bear on her mind, memories of her exodus from Santo and where she'd spent her time hiding thereafter. She also recalled they'd both had their moments of stubbornness in that time.

Her hands, still holding the sheets, dropped against the bed as she heaved a tired sigh. Then, she conceded. As much as she wanted to stay and clean up the mess, she wasn't going to be able to do it alone, much less be much help. "Well, seeing as I'm a little foggy and trying to fold bloody sheets, maybe you're right."

Lifting the sheets once more, she took them to an empty bin that was intended for things that needed to be disposed of. She was certain the sheets would probably never come clean and she really didn't think she could stand to have that kind of reminder under any future patients. "Thank you, Dom."

With no argument, Trina moved across the med bay and stepped into the hall and nearly ran head long into Mike. Startled, she stepped back, one hand reaching out to the wall to steady herself. "Mike... sorry... I didn't see you."

Before she could say anything else, there was a metallic sounding clang from somewhere. Looking down the hall towards the cargo hold and the exit, Trina's brow furrowed. "What was that?"

Karyn's ear piece came to life. "Lt. Commander! We have a problem! Hawke has escaped containment. We have men down! Last seen running through Sector C of Level 5. We also haven't been able to locate the female subject!"

Becker seemed to wake up a few moments after Trina appeared. His head raised, his eyes widened and he came to a stop as he realised he'd nearly steamrolled over her. Mike held up his free hand, surrendering to fault as he tried to offer his own apologies between the gaps in Trina's speech.

"No... I... Should have been..."

Mike easily gave up on his attempts, sighing to the ground before looking back to the doctor. His haze held onto her for a little while. "You're looking..." He changed his approach mid-sentence. "It's good to see you on your feet."

The loud noise came as a startling event for them both, and triggered something in Mike who dropped Cole's luggage bag and made a dash for the cargo bay in search of an issue. An abrupt stop came, as his eyes laid on the Alliance's handywork and realisation set in. He gathered himself from the retrospectively embarrassing reaction, he had clearly expected something else.

His view switched back to find Trina. "Alliance repairs." He explained, somewhat defeated. "I suppose they're gonna get noisy" Becker put a hand to his forehead and massage his temples with finger and thumb. "Nothing to worry about though," he offered with little faith behind his words.

Suddenly all the lights to Glory went out as sparks began to fly out of all the circuits inside of the ship. The smell of electrical smoke was very evident.

One of the engineers began installing a metal box to the landing gears while looking around at who was watching. Another engineer lifted a new hull plate up to the missing section with a machine.

Karyn stood suddenly, her left hand going to the earbud in her ear, while her right hand stabbed out, palm up, to indicate that the others should stay put. Moments tick by and the smile on her face disintegrates completely. A darkness crosses her eyes and her lips twitch into a snarl.

"You all stay here. Enjoy the java, or bicker amongst yourselves. I don't care as long as you DO NOT LEAVE this room. We have a security situation that I must see to."

She turned away and whispered into her throat mike. "I want two teams on level 5 NOW! Lock down all elevators unless being used by Security Pass Alpha. DO It!"

She strode to the door, stepping through and waved at the two guards outside. "Secure this room. No one leaves."
But my heart is not weary, it's light and it's free I've got nothing but affection for all those who sailed with me

Glory

As Becker ushered in 'no worries', he and Trina were subjected to the surprise of Glory kicking and screaming. His hand dropped and he looked around Glory's parts to see the visual theatrics the Alliance's work was causing.

"Gimmie a..." was his reaction, before he saw to Trina's reaction by putting a hand on her shoulder. "Keep cool." His gaze studied her, wondering if the surprise might do her harm. "They're just..." The sentence wasn't finished because it couldn't be. "Actually I have no idea what they're doing."

Becker looked to the where the engineers were situated, anxious to locate some answers, but priority left him by Trina. "You good?"

The darkness and then the sparks flying definitely did little to settle Trina's nerves. When asked if she was good, she at first nodded. Then she realized Mike might not be able to see it. "I'm alright. Go on, see what this is all about. Do you want me to try to message Ian? Make sure this is what they're supposed to be doing?"

She didn't have her cortex link on her, but it was in her medical bag, which was just inside the med bay behind her. The concern and worry followed by moments of quiet only to be thrust back into another stressful situation was really starting to wear on her. She wasn't sure how much more she was going to be able to keep this pace up, at least while her health was somewhat lowered.

Remy watched as Sonya went off, he assumed she was trying to get them out, but then in the back of his mind, he wouldn't blame her if she left them to rot there, afterall, they had done the same to her. Remy tried his best to recall the crash, he was sure she was dead. It all happened in such a blur, and it felt like it was so long ago.

Remy stood by the glass, somehow hoping that he would be able to see what she was doing, but it didnt work. Not one bit. Hope, it seemed was all he had left.

Sonya considered going back to get the cell numbers, she took a look back through the door. She could barely stand, much less remember who she'd just seen. Friends, well not friends; best she had. Remember the cells numbers, she couldn't even remember their names.

A blinking light on the panel caught what little attention she had. She returned to the panel and saw the security level seemed to be escalating. She tapped the "open all" button and started to shuffle back to the cells. Being lady like with the proper walk went out the window.

Shuffling back to the cells, "the more the merrier."

Mike shook his head to Trina's question. "No, I'll figure it." Gritting his teeth, he looked out as smoke started to make its way around the ship. "In fact, you should come with me. I'm no doctor and I know breathing in this smoke won't do you no favours. Come on." On that Becker took a hold of Trina's hand, without permission or invitation. He then led her through the cargo bay and into the docking hallway of the IAV ship, where the smoke thinned and the air was clearer.

"Hey, what's going on?" he called to the nearest engineer. "Certainly doesn't look like you're treating her too well."

One of the engineer's brushed him off. "Everything is okay! Making it ship shape!" The engineer finished fixing the device to the landing gear as he stood up and brushed himself off. The plating was then welded to the hull that had been removed. The lights slowly flickered back on Glory as power was restored.

"I suppose if I say I'm fine, you'll be pulling rank on me... Won't you, sergeant?"

He caught her smile despite how sparing she used it, he was glad to see she was in her good senses and didn't argue with him any further than her casual prod.

"Well, seeing as I'm a little foggy and trying to fold bloody sheets, maybe you're right."

"Of course I am." He mocked arrogance complete with tucked up jaw.

"Thank you, Dom."

He watched as she left the room, imitating her earlier sigh as he turned back to his cleaning duties. With that sigh he whispered a thank you to her.

Dom didn't get far into his cleaning however as the lights suddenly went out and the distinct smell of burnt wire smoke filled the air. Dom questioned the danger of the situation but just to be sure he left the infirmary, feeling his way through the dark towards the lit area where the ships connected. Conveniently for his search that was exactly where Becker and Trina were. He didn't have to ask as Becker stole the words right out of his mouth.

"Hey, what's going on?"

The man was taking charge of the situation already. Seemed like Ian might have made one right decision if not for the one on the new guy. Dom had yet to have time to grieve over the young man they'd lost and now had to deal with the giant tick that was the Alliance.

Satisfied that Becker had things under control Dom leaned against the wall, arms folded as the lights came back on. He hoped this was as far onto that ship that he had to go.

Mike raised an eyebrow and a soft sneer as he cast his view on the engineer's idea of ship shape. The lights stuttering back into action was received well but not all together convincing. On spotting Dom, Mike nodded and gave a thumbs up, recognising the similar concerns. The air was looking fine enough though, making Becker second guess his earlier assumption about the smoke now that all five sense were in action.

"Our circuits meant to be sizzling like that?" The question hung with somewhat of an accusatory tone. Mike's concern being that they were set for more trouble down the line.

Travis stopped beside Slade, watching Karyn from over the mans shoulder. She too stood up, but not to match him. Her plastered on smile was soon wiped from her face, and with that she was off, he could almost feel the tension rising from her.

The door sealed with a low hiss and TK turned to his new partner. "That's our que to leave." he said with a nod as his hand found his way to his holster. Looking back toward Ian, he flashed the Captain a grin. "Not gonna be a problem, is it Captain?"

Remy was still worried, he wondered if he had imagined Sonya appearing, as if it was some kind of black spot on his soul, his conscience finally catching up with him, but then he remembered that Biff had seen her too. Then he just imagined her running away, not helping them

Then the doors opened...

Remy tentatively took a few steps forward, almost scared that it was too good to be true, like there was a magic electrical forcefield in front of him which would shock him if he stepped out of the cell, but he found himself free once again. Remy just stood there, not knowing what to do really.

Escaping from prison, twice in as many weeks he thought to himself.
