Everyone was able to make it back aboard Glory safely as bullets contained to fly into the cargo bay.

"Shut the cargo ramp!" Anders yelled as he fired off several rounds to keep the Marines at bay.

The crew was worn, hungry and wounded. But most importantly, they were still alive.

Sonya mindlessly put the machine rifle in a locker, gave the door a modest push; not enough for it to click and close. She didn't notice.

After a look about the those assembled: Becker and Ian, Trina and Dom; Biff and Jenna, Corso and her; Her again no longer an admiral but in a plain white, but very classic shirt, and Ian; other people she didn't know. wait how many was that? did she count herself twice?

Gulliver looked up the stairs. They should all take a nap and fly away. Glory looked sleepy, the stairs steep and ascending into another disaster, sleep now.

Biff gritted his teeth as bullet tore flesh. "You just made a serious mistake!" hissed from his mouth. He began shooting precise shots instead of cover shots taking out several marines. He was so preoccupied with that that he was surprised to find a tourniquet placed by Sonya already on his leg.

Remy and Jenna made it to each other and then back to him. Remy grabbed on to him and he used all his adrenaline soaked muscles to continue to drag Corso to the ship. When they were all inside Biff laid down on the deck in a half sit with his ruck on that was the best he could do.

He laughed when he saw Sonya put the Alliance weapon away in a locker and he got up and did the same with the bulk that was still left on Corso. He took his ruck off and dumped the big man out of his poncho and put everything away. He sat down against his ruck again and looked around. They were many and they had conquered. "Heh heh hahahaha!" After his laughing fit was over he spoke to Remy, "I get a little loopy coming down from a combat high. Great job out there my friend." He half closed his eyes taking several cleansing breathes.

TK watched with an impressed smile. Mind reading was some skill to have, better yet to just be quick enough to keep up with an ever changing plan. The ship suddenly shifted, what had once been a window to the stars was now filled the massive shape of Verbena. It was night time below and the cloud cover had began to fade away, revealing the twinkling cities below. Little did they know.

"Nice touch with Hawke impersonation." he said, coming back from the window and joining Slade at the destroyed control console. Travis detached the PDA from his belt and quickly entered a message.

///IAV Zigg set for collision with Verbena. No sign of Hawke.

He hit enter and looked up to Slade, seeming rather satisfied with the days work so far. "Lets get out of here." he echoed, shouldering his rifle and following the directions for the life pods.

Karyn turned after releasing the limp body. "Do you have a pilot? We need to be ready to fly once the bay doors open. We're not out of the woods yet."

She turned and scanned the personnel, suddenly spotting Sonya. As their eyes meet, she squints and shakes her head before looking again. "You're Gulliver? Gorram! I didn't see the resemblance in your file."

The blood soaking her blouse had extended a third of the way down her front, forming a mandlebrot pattern on her shoulder.
But my heart is not weary, it's light and it's free I've got nothing but affection for all those who sailed with me
Stick with me baby, stick with me anyhow. Things should start to get interestin' right about now

They ran, it was hard, dragging not only Biff but also Corso, but adreneline must have helped hi, because they made it to the Glory, the doors closed, and they sat down, Remy was shaking, as he sat next to Biff. Seemed it was the inevitable comedown.

Remy listened and smiled as Biff spoke, calling Jenna over, he put one arm around her, and one arm around him, embracing them both. They were off that prison, and they were free, for the meantime anyway.

We did it, we're pretty much in one piece he stated, looking at Sonya and smiling.

Slade grinned at his partner as they walked toward the escape pods.

"Hawke's already wanted for everything else, why not let this go to his fame? I don't need the Alliance breathing down my neck, and he seems to have made a good life out of it. He's also part of the reason I didn't lock down the life pods. A few need to escape to say it was him, or else this might not come to hang around his neck."

The other more prevalent reason Jackson hadn't locked down most of the pods was he didn't know how to, his rudimentary skills hinged more on flying than anything else. But he liked his version as it sounded better.

The pair arrived at a pod, and the sniper pressed the pad to open the door. Due to the high complement of crew, each pod could handle up to six people. They contained a beacon, a week's worth of rations for each person, and seats with straps plus of course the launch controls. Slade entered, secured his weapon and bag in a spare seat, strapped himself in, and looked back at TK.

"I think we've worn out our welcome, my friend. Ready to get out of here?"

It was beyond Trina's control to hold back the cry of pain at being lifted and carried. Her eyes squeezed shut as Mike carried her, leaving her blind to where it was they were going. All she knew for sure was that he was moving to a safer location. She knew well that if he was able, he'd have avoided causing any further pain, but every step he took made her shoulder throb.

"Medical..." she gasped before clenching her teeth again. "Get me to medical." There were supplies there, and if Anders wasn't available, she could try to walk Mike through at least patching the back of her shoulder. It wouldn't be easy, especially with her head starting to swim.

Becker raised to move toward the edge of the cargo compartment that he'd laid Trina in. Looking out towards the entrance, he saw the doors lock up and the ship fully boarded. Khei was a welcome sight, and the head count included Ian, Sonya and Dom - all the people he currently cared about. His glances over the others was brief, acknowledging them was hardly priority. They were no longer under fire but Becker wouldn't truly feel safe until the ship was away, on land again. Perhaps then he could catch his breath.

At Trina's attempt at speech he rushed back to her side before allowing her to share her piece. At the idea of moving her again he bowed his head and pressed his palm against his temple. He murmured something on a whisper of his breath then rapidly shook his head to keep his senses alert. "Alright. Hang on. Last time now."

Same as before, an arm under her legs, and an arm reluctantly under her neck and surely aggravating her wound. He took her up and made a move for their stairs, taking her on to the med-bay as instructed.

Sonya laughed after Biff's exuberance and let out a meek "Whoop" of her own, then made an equally weak fist pump over her head. She tried to focus through the clouds as for what to do next. People were hurt, still needed to run, still needed to get off the flight deck.

Karyn asked about a pilot, then, "You're Gulliver. Gorram! I didn't see the resemblance in your file."

"I had a 'run for your life' makeover." Gulliver said and looked to Captain Dugan. He knew she knew Glory. But if they had another pilot, she was done in; flying an escape from an Alliance City Ship would need someone sharp.

Sonya looked back toward Karyn. "Are you me? before I died? or you just have lucky genes?" she asked, a sleepy smile. Maybe she had a pillow, or should she help get someone to sick bay?

Travis kept tight lipped on their short stroll to the escape pods, finding himself eerily calm for a fellow standing aboard a crashing ship, filled with terrorists and purple bellies. "Something tells me he'll see his way clear. This whole job has been a little too…" he paused, searching for the word, then shrugged in defeat. "….I dunno. Makes a man wonder what side he's even killing for."

As the pair arrived at the pod and Slade entered, TK took a final opportunity to scan each end of the hall. "You bet. Seen one, seen 'em all." he replied quietly, placing a hand on the entrance as he stepped through. He stashed his rifle into one of the empty seats, then took his seat beside it, opposite Slade Jackson.

"Hit it." he said with a nod, face filled with that 'job well done' smile.

How she made it to Glory, she was unsure but by the time she had wheeled Tristan into the cargo bay she was close to hyperventilating, soaked in sweat, and seemed to be in a state of panic.

Panting in raspy, dry breaths, she gazed blankly at everyone she could see before her legs wobbled and she crumpled to the floor shaking and sobbing, half in relief that it was over, for now, and half in horror of all that she'd seen and done since arriving on the cruiser.

As much as she didn't like to show such emotion in the presence of others, seeing it as weakness, she couldn't help allowing herself to curl into a fetal position behind the wheelchair.

Docking Bay 14

"One minute until bay doors are open. Please clear the area." the female voice sounded over the bay intercoms.

Gunfire continued to erupt from the exterior of Glory as bullets ricocheted against the hull plating. Each bullet fired against the hull causing a resounding ringing to reverberate in the cargo hold.

A loud voice could be heard from the outside. "Everyone clear the bay! Scramble the Airtanks!"

Everyone aboard IAV Ziggurat felt a suddenly pull as if the gravity had suddenly been shifted. The entire ship became to tremble.

Slade gave a grin back to TK, then slammed his palm down on the big, red button. The door slid shut with a 'hiss' as the oxygen level in the pod evened out, then a red light began to strobe around the interior before there was a subtle feel of pressure and the vessel launched. The two bounty hunters cleared the doomed ship, hung safely in space while the pride and joy of the Alliance sped on to collide with the planet below.

The grav unit was working, as was the beacon from a flashing light on a panel. Now all the pair had to do was wait for pick up...

...and hope they were friendly.

Jackson reached to the seat next to him, and into his satchel. He removed a white collar, and slid it around his neck. He winked at TK.

"People might wonder about two bounty hunters escaping a crashing Alliance ship, but no one will look twice at a ship's Shepard and his assistant."

Biff opened his eyes and put an arm around Remy too feeling the sentiment and smiling. He got in his ruck an pulled out some bandages to assist his tourniquet to the med bay. Then using the wall to stand up he began to limp his way after the man dragging the doc. Looking at Remy and the others he said, "Don't worry guys. I've taken care of worse injuries during the war. I've patched myself together more times then I can remember. All I need are some clean medical supplies. I'll...."

The ship began to tremble and Biff had to stop a moment to regain his "sea legs" "Seams like there's going to be some more fun to be had. If there is anything you can do to help this crew it may help smooth over the fact that we showed up with "Captain" manners here. I'll catch up once I've patched my leg up." He limped off following Becker slowly.

Karyn hesitated a brief moment when no one jumped for the bridge. She turned to Ian "Im a Gorram fine pilot, if you would allow me, I'll get us off this vessel and into the black. Any destination, you can tell me when we're underway. "

With his nod of approval, she dashed forward and down onto the bridge and only took a few moments to familiarize herself with the controls. She kicked in the thrusters and hovered the Glory anticipating the opening of the bay doors.

[ I'm just trying to keep us going while waiting on Ian to respond. ]

Making it to med-bay, Becker lowered Trina onto the bed, his hands going around her neck to gently lay her head down. He looked over, hoping that she would become somewhat comfortable now that movement wasn't aggravating her injury. "Okay we're here." Mike found himself stroking hair from her face with her fingers and when he realised he ceased the action and retrieved his hands. Taking a moment for breath, Mike rubbed his forehead before turning to find Biff coming up behind him. Looking at the man's injury and location, he made a judgment.

"I hope you're not mistakin' me for the doctor." Becker looked away, apparently scanning the shelves of the room. "We're a little shortchanged in that department."

Mike was trying to recall what treatment he'd received when he'd been shot. Moving over to the cabinets, he started looking through the inventory for reminders.

Trina took several long breaths and opened her eyes as Mike spoke to someone. Her face was so pale it was almost grey and her eyes had a hollowed look to them. As Mike stepped away, her eyes looked to this new face and somehow, she managed the faintest of smiles. "By shortchanged, he means the doctor is currently shot. I'm sorry."

Slowly, carefully, she turned her head to see where Mike was. Even that was enough to make her head swim again. "Wouldn't... be so... bad if... if I hadn't... given blood less than an hour ago." Blinking a couple of times in a poor attempt to clear her head, she began to attempt to force her mind to work.

"There are gauze rolls in the the cabinet you're in, Mike. Second shelf up. Grab a few of them." The pain of keeping her head turned had her pausing briefly. "The square packages next to that, in the box, we'll need those too."

It was likely that she would need to stitch some of her wound, but she knew well enough she wasn't going to be able to do so currently. If the wound was bound, and she was allowed to sleep for a few hours to regain some of her strength, she could sew the front up just fine by herself. It would be the back that would be an issue.

Finally, keeping her head turned was becoming too much and she returned to looking forward and slightly up. "There should also be a few more containers of the dermal foam in that far right hand drawer. With it should be some vials..." Her voice seemed harder and harder to control. "I need one of those and one of the needles in the packages next to it."

The warmth of sleep was creeping up her body. A brief second of panic and she did the only thing she knew would wake her back up. She moved her left arm enough to send sharp, stabbing pains down her arm and across her upper body. The only sound she made was a sharp inhale and then something akin to clearing her throat.

Becker was hurt, her doppelgänger with the bloody shirt was leading the way to fly Glory. Gulliver had just been staring at Karyn, the bloody pattern on her shirt had some esoteric meaning. Secret signals of Sonya sisterhood perhaps.

Sonya wanted to step up, but she knew she was seeing things. And when she looked at her hands they were skaking, little tremors that would be soothed only with soft soothing sleep.
So Gulliver followed. "Alliance trained?"

Sonya didn't wait for an answer. She started rattling off her own secrets of Glory. "Should be a set up in memory, hard torgue on the thruster to maneuver close to the station, she's got good manueverability for being big bellied like she is; strong rocket with an autogyro in each one."

Gulliver just stood in the bridge and talked, with much use of her hands. She demonstrated the sloping geometric increase in thrust accelleration like a three dimensional graph. "She'll do a straight pulse jump even after a roll or yaw change if you keep the squared power on the main units." Her hands showed 'big'.

Finally she flopped down in one of the chairs behind the console. "And with just a little tickle she'll hard burn in a straight line like a bullet to the bullseye."

Sonya had always loved Glory.
