Biff stared startled at Remy's approach. Remy dumped the guns on top of the unconscious man.
Remy

We have three minutes to get to the ship, cover me, I'll get Jenna
"Aye" was all Biff could get out before Remy took off again. Biff smiled knowing that his running into these two, Remy and Jenna, were like divine providence for him. They met him at his lowest and helped him claw back up into the land of men. They were his battle buddies and he would love them forever as only soldiers who've been to the trenches together can. It is right that we three see this end since we were together so long at the beginning.

Amazed again to see Sonya come running up on Remy's heals for they had in a way all met at the same time. It seemed appropriate that these FOUR were together as they had been from the start when Biff carried Sonya off the shuttle. Biff's head swam with amazement. He wasn't a man who normally held fancies of destiny but this circumstance smacked of it.

"Yeah!!" He cried and emptied the rifle he held and grabbed the next from his Corso arsenal. Firing on semi auto to keep heads down and off of shooting at Remy and Jenna. He was glad to have backup in the form of Sonya.

Khei attempted to use the elevator but it made a buzzing sound as the keypad flashed red. It looked as if she needed a keycard to access the elevator. The sound of gunfire continued to echo from the elevator shaft. She felt the ground rumble as if something had exploded.

Hunters

TK and Slade made their way to the Bridge Doors. It was unusual that the doors slid open with little effort. Inside were bodies of the crew on the ground. Their faces were twisted with pain as blood seeped of their eyes, nose and mouth. The Bridge was quite extravagant with top of the line equipment. Multiple consoles and chairs lined the room. At the helm of the ship was a single chair with a large view screen that revealed the vastness of space.

Docking Bay 14

The battle raged on as bullets rained in both directions. Glory and Biff's group were outnumbered and outgunned as the Marines kept coming after them with the sole intent of total annihilation. Smoke filled the air giving off the smell of fresh gun powder as pieces of metal sparked and broke apart from the ceilings and walls. Glory's hull plating took a beating as bullets continued to ping against her side, leaving indentations.

Remy with Sonya in tow were able to make it over to Biff as Remy dropped more weapons at Biff's feet. A bullet whizzed past Remy's head. He felt lucky but realized the bullet had ripped through Biffs left leg causing him to fall to one knee in pain. Blood slowly spurted out of Biff's leg as he grimaced.

As Trina was making her way with her med pack to the Cargo Bay Ramp, she felt burning pain in her shoulder. Everything became slow motion as a bullet tore into her left shoulder, spraying blood against the wall. Trina slowly collapsed to the ground, falling onto her back as she began breathing heavy. Blood started to pump out of her shoulder as she began gasping for air, still clutching her med pack.

Bullets continued to fly into Glory's cargo bay, causing the metal to spark and cargo crates to blow apart.

Becker squeezed of a shot or two when not bring pinned down by a barrage of bullets. He was staggered by how lucky the other where as they moved around. Mostly Lucky. As fearless as Becker had been recently, a bullet to the head made him more thoughtful with regard o his safety.

Mike took glimpses of the others as he could. The latest glimpse being of their doctor, spurting a cloud of blood from her shoulder then falling out of sight.

"TRINA!"

He began to move immediately, but sparks flying and shots ringing from the cargo and hull gave him good reason to drop back into cover. He didn't grow too keen on Trina, just more careful with his movements.

"Trina! Are you-" He cut off. If she wasn't, the lack of response would be too concerning.

Becker plotted a safer route, around cargo that looked to make a sufficient cover and with a few mad dashes if a lull came in the firing rate. He did his best to reach the doctor, still releasing rounds when he could.

Khei growled under her breath, her mind was still in a fog but she faintly recalled having a keycard and searched herself for the card from the dead man.

She noticed the rumble from below but paid little attention to it.

Failing to find the card, she muttered a few choice words before resigning herself to looking for another way.

She started trying to find somewhere with a computer where she might be able to hack into the system and override the elevators or otherwise discover another way to the docking bay.

As Khei fumbled around, the red card key dropped from one of her pockets. It seemed as if she was still a bit disoriented. Picking the card up she slid it into the slot as the panel turned green. The elevator doors slid open as she wheeled Tristan into the elevator. Khei selected the docking bay level as the elevator slowly descended. After a few moments, the elevator door opened to an activate firefight. Khei saw the Marines advancing on her friends.

Docking Bay 14

A voice came over the bay intercom. "3 minutes until docking bay doors are open. Please clear the area."

With a sigh, Karyn gave up her shelter, as she saw someone else leading the girl back toward the ship. A lotta good I'm doing here!

She gathered her feet and picked out a closer destination before making a mad dash forward. Bullets zipped by past her as she ran, one tugged at her sleeve before a sharp sting registered on her neck. The adrenalin was still strong enough to keep her going as she felt the sticky wetness start to soak her blouse near her right breast.
But my heart is not weary, it's light and it's free I've got nothing but affection for all those who sailed with me
Stick with me baby, stick with me anyhow. Things should start to get interestin' right about now

Trina had felt this burn once before and knew what it meant. She'd been hit. For a long time, or at least it felt like a long time, she simply stared up at the ceiling of the cargo hold. It is the cargo hold... right? Blinking a couple of times, the only real sensation she had was the continued burn in her shoulder.

Someone was breathing heavily. Blinking again, she realized it was her own breathing. Time suddenly crashed down on her and she snapped out of the daze. The pain threatened to take her, as it had the first time. It threatened to unleash her own panic. Gritting her teeth, she fought down the fear and held her breath in an attempt to regain control. Fight or flight... have to calm my heart rate...

Her fingers were tight, clenched in fists and she slowly tried to loosen the muscles in her arms. It was then she became aware of the fact that her bag had not fallen from her. She still had it in her hands. There was some small mercy in that. As best she could, she moved the bag to her right side and began digging through it blindly for the gauze and medical binding foam. Slow, deep breaths...

If she could get the gauze under her shoulder, it might help slow the bleeding. The binding foam was what she really needed, but she knew she was in no position to apply it to the back of her shoulder. And she was losing more blood. The continued gun fire rang in her ears, but mixed in with it was that clock, the incessant ticking.

For once, she didn't feel the worry. She got angry.

Turning her head, she winced and then dumped the bag on its side so she could dig through it. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted someone making their way to her. It was Mike...

Travis leaned through the open doorway and quickly scanned the room. That was it alright, blood. So familiar, yet hard to place in the otherwise near sterile environment. A lot of it too. He took a few, careful steps forward, boots dipping in and out of the ever mixing pools of blood. Approaching one of the lifeless bodies, he examined the mans frozen display of terror, then looked back to Slade. "Looks like we're not the only ones here." he said rather cryptically, turning back and making his way toward the large view screen.

Leaning against it, he cleared away a bloody hand shaped streak, and took a long moment to stare out into the Black. Dozens of other points of moving light came into focus, some larger and brighter than others. Too fast to be stars or shuttles. His eyes dropped, below them sat the slowly spinning world of Verbena, looking a little worse for ware these days. Huge scars ran across its surface, the dips and rises of its surface, with pockets of light dotting its surface like an ever spreading virus.

That's when it hit him. Turning back from the screen, he grinned at Slade and began looking around the Bridge for the Nav Console. "I've got an idea."

Reality seemed to slam into her as the elevator opened up on the firefight. Her mind raced until she realized she was still wearing the medical smock. The idea came fast and clear but it was a long shot and might get her shot.. again.

She buttoned the smock to fully cover her shirt and starts to run into the room yelling at the marines, wearing the most convincing, frantic face she could muster.

THANK GOD YOU'RE HERE! PLEASE HELP! TERRORISTS ARE IN THE INFIRMARY! WE NEED HELP BACK THERE!

She hoped she could pass herself off as a medical intern.

Mike found his caution mixed with a little bit of luck was enough to get him through the bay. He came down to the floor on his knees beside Trina, then discarded the rifle.

"Trina, oh.." The was little pleasing about the sight before him, and the concern on Becker's features only saw to echo that. Considering action and looking across from here, he spotted her hand fumbling through a med-kit.

"Help me out Trina." He wasn't keen on making her talk, but he wasn't high on medical knowledge. "What do I do Trin." Becker began routing through the kit for something was familiar with. "The dermal foam! Right?" He'd yanked that item from the kit and now held it, and with little other idea of what to do, he applied it.

"Okay doc, this is gonna get you back on your feet. 'Cause if you're not better then I'm gonna scar, and we can't have that can we." The joke came through a serious expression. "Are you with me Trin?"

Sonya didn't fire much. The pistol had a large clip, but there was a lot to shoot. She held her fire to anything that threatened them up close.

As they arrived at Biff she fired the rest of the gun in a general direction of any remaining group of uniforms. Remy dropped the guns he'd collected, more than enough. Biff was shot and Remy was off. Sonya looked where he was going, it looked pretty clear. The littlest one of there posse was where he was headed.

"Three minutes." she muttered.

Sonya took one of the rifles in the pile, noticed the blood coming from Biff. She dropped the rifle. Moved to a nearby dead marine and slid his belt off, took a beret that was on the floor. Returning to Biff she slid the belt around his leg, slipped in the beret at the wound sight and tightened the belt.

"Worst medic evuh." She said to Biff, remembered to get her head back low again. Sonya scrambled to find the rifle and look to Remy and Jenna, then back to Glory. Then in her usual scrappy practice, she jinxed them best she could.

"Looks like were gonna make it."

Before Remy ran towards Biff, he was with Sonya, who turned to him, and said something to him. Sharing a room? Remy didn't say anything, but smiled, and took off in his run towards Biff.

The scene played out, guns dropped, asking for cover, and running towards Jenna.

It was strange, Remy had been with the two of them for what felt like a lifetime, Remy had felt a connection with Jenna from the first moment they met. Maybe its because she was a youngling and he had spent so many years training younglings in Companionship, or maybe, sometimes, you just meet someone, who you connect with, on a deeper level, not necessarily sexually, but just connect with.

And Biff, Biff was the one who had taken care of them, sure Remy hadn't always been sure about him, but he had earned their trust, he had kept them out of danger for so long.

A bullet whizzed past his head, and Remy ducked instinctively, looking back, he saw Biff go down, Remy wanted to go help him, but Sonya was there, she would look after him,

Sonya, the girl who had seemingly been there from the start of this adventure, but had 'died' only to be resurrected.

Remy gritted his teeth, looked to where Jenna was, and ran... He would get her even if they didn't make it to the Glory.

Slade looked at the bodies over the barrel of his gun, but none moved. As TK was inspecting the dead, Slade scanned the layout for what he wanted. Bingo, Nav. controls. He beat his partner to them, and took a seat. The sniper muttered to himself as he tried to recall lessons from long ago, and his fingers haultedly pressed buttons.

The view screen changed, Verbena was now front and center...

...And it was getting bigger. An alarm blared, but Jackson disabled the safeties from his counsel and it shut up. Finally he stood up, took a few steps back, lowered the auto rifle it his waist, and opened fire on the controls. He didn't stop until the clip was empty. The sniper dropped the dead weapon, and made his way to the comms unit. He switched on a ship-wide broadcast.

"Listen up. My name is Tobias Hawke. This is a mighty fine ship, and if I can't have it no one can. You got a few minutes to pray to whatever God will have you, find peace where you can."

The comms unit was turned off, and Slade pointed to a directional sign that said 'life pods'. He addressed his partner.

"This ship will crash into the planet below. I suggest we not be on it when it does."

Jenna kept running. At this point she realized that there was nothing else she could do.

All around her the tower and the stairs fell apart and she could hear the screams of the people that had been crushed underneath.

Seeing Biff at the bottom of the stairs made her feel like there was a chance that she was going to make it.

She then saw Remy dump a bunch of guns at Biff's feet and start to move from spot to spot moving towards her followed by Sonya.

Just a little faster and then she would be back with her friends.

"Almost there..Just a little bit further.

Ian made his way over to where Coroso and his crew were. An old Air tank that he had managed to get into and save their collective Pi-Gu's with. The one with the beard took one in the leg and went down, Sonya was there in an instant.

She must have followed me out when I wasn't looking. Good girl Glad ta have ya back with us. he thought

He reached Coroso and saw that he was in a bad way but not dead. He took the man's weight on his left side, the assault rifle in his right, and started to half carry and half drag the man back toward the Glory.

He saw Trina go down in a spray of blood, but Death was no where near her so he turned his attention to her. He fired twice as he spoke to the semi-conscious man.

"No Coroso will be dyin on or near the Glory on my watch. Got that?"

He had only taken a few steps when he found himself next to the Lt. Col.

"A hand please? This guys must weigh half a ton."

A beat and a few shoots later he spoke again.

"You got a name besides yer first? Lt. Col is hard off the tongue."

She had told them her name in the Conference Room all those years ago, be he wanted to start fresh, if that were possible, given where they were.

Then, he saw a short doctor come in, a man in a wheelchair in tow and recognized Khei.

He heard an announcement over the General com.

Announcement

"Listen up. My name is Tobias Hawke. This is a mighty fine ship, and if I can't have it no one can. You got a few minutes to pray to whatever God will have you, find peace where you can."

"That's not Tobias. It's not his voice. But we better get. This station is coming down and there is nothing I can do to stop it."

He figured they had less than three minutes left anyway.

Remy finally made it to Jenna, putting his arm around her, he ran with her, using himself as a shield for her. It maybe a stupid idea, but thats how far they had come, all the mini adventures they had been on, and now he was willing to lay down his life for her.

They made it back to Biff, and Sonya. Remy picked up Biff and put his arm around him, letting him lean on him, much like Remy and Jenna had done metaphorically during their time together.

They then started hobbling back to the Glory. Gunfire all around them...

Karyn came up out of her shelter and slid under the unconscious man's left side, relieving Dugan of half the weight. She kept stooped just a bit to expose as little of her backside to the withering fire. Then they moved toward the ship, bringing their invalid to safety.

Sonya fired a couple different rifles, tossing them to Biff after a couple shots. None of them were for lefties. It could have been a carnival BB gun shack for all the danger she was aware.

By the time she realized she wouldn't be finding a southpopper, Remy arrived with Jenna. The slim man seemed to have little trouble pulling Biff along. Sonya took a couple more smoke grenades , yanked the pins and gave them a good healthy toss to some rallying marines. They weren't gas grenades.

"Oops." She said, picked up a small auto rifle, took a spot behind Remy and Buff;and started firing in the general direction of wherever soldiers dared to still walk.

Sonya dreamed of soft silky pajamas and smooth cool sheets, a pillow that hugged your neck. And someone to hold on to, even if she'd never know they were there.

Mike was beside her before she knew it, almost startling her. Trina glanced over at him and didn't like the look on his face. She knew it wasn't good, but to see his face made it seem all the worse. Before she could say anything, he was helping her dig through the medical bag.
Becker

"Help me out Trina. The dermal foam! Right?"
Her first instinct was to nod and that small move made her shoulder lance fire through her. Inhaling sharply through her teeth, the sound a soft hiss, she exhaled before finally answering. "The dermal foam... and gauze..."

He was already applying the foam, even as she spoke. Her eyes closed briefly, and in doing so sent water from her eyes and running down her cheeks. She knew she wasn't really crying, yet. It was just her eyes watering from the pain. As serious as the situation was, Mike slipped a joke in and through her pain, Trina couldn't help the small smile even though it came out more of a grimace.

"Mike... please get down. If I got shot this far back, there's... still a chance you could too." Every word was strained and she dreaded the next step in her own patching up. Continuing with the slow steady breaths, she looked up at Mike, her features set in determination. "We have to patch the back of the shoulder too."

It meant she would have to move, but not doing so could prove more costly. "You have to or I could bleed out..."

Becker only shook his head. The idea of discouraging her from speaking seemed unwise even if he disagreed with her thoughts. His brow furrowed as he watched her struggle to speak among the struggle with the pain.

"Okay. This is gonna..." He trailed off. She knew what was coming. "Sorry." The arm that went under her legs was of no consequence, but slipping his other arm around her back and neck was sure to cause discomfort. He approached the second delicately, but sought not to draw the pain out, so there was an element of 'the quicker, the better.'

Becker lifted her up and made for further into the ship, out of the line of fire. When they were out of the line of fire, Mike would lay her back down and seek to make her comfortable. She'd be best on her side so he could deal with the wound at her back.
