Tune Drop

So a friend of mine starts this Facebook group at the end of the summer, adds his close friends and tells us it's a place to post any random link to a song, either that we're listening to at that moment and loving, or just as a recommended listen to others.

Just over three months later and there's over 2,000 members, he calls it Tune Drop.

Rules are simple, post (or be nice and embed) whatever song you wants, try not to break any board rules by doing so, but otherwise just go nuts.

Allow me to demonstrate:

Stephen Tiberius
"Handsome" Harry Mallow
Travis "TK" Kamino
Col. Samuel Brock - XO Dreadnaught

I say potato, you say potatoe, he says roll plus six sword of Doom.

Interesting. On another note I was wondering what sort of music had transposed itself to the verse, especially in regard to Christmas music (I have a few rebel songs around that are done but I was wondering about others)

Christmas tunes in Irish? None that I've ever heard, but not being a Gaelgoir myself I wouldn't really know. There's always this:

Stephen Tiberius
"Handsome" Harry Mallow
Travis "TK" Kamino
Col. Samuel Brock - XO Dreadnaught

I say potato, you say potatoe, he says roll plus six sword of Doom.

Festive related chuckle, not the same as the original I first heard, but I haven't heard it since I was a kid.

I want to contribute to this so damn badly but nothing's coming to me. All my usual music is pretty boring.

Alright, this is the first thing that hit me this morning, so might as well throw it in. Change of pace to Grav's regime, but deal with it.

Pete's an aussie and isn't really on my regular playlist nowadays, but take me back 4 or 5 years and he sure was. this one specifically reminds me of lazy days near the end of a highschool when a mate would always have his acoustic and whenever we'd have free periods everyone would chill out on the grass (instead of studying...) and listen to some tuneskis.

Actually haven't heard this song for a long while now.

Another one I always think of this time of year. Tim's another Aussie though I imagine most would have heard the name. Hopefully. Very clever guy. No offense to anyone religious - this song's not that anti-religion, but is a good summary of what Xmas is for us who aren't so into the religious side of it.

Love Tim Minchin, his songs are brilliant. I think what folks don't get about him is that he's a comedian, so while his songs can often come off as quite serious and even anti-religious, it's always with a comedic undertone, and the day that joking about something becomes illegal is the day I stop giving a shit about laws in general.

ANYWAYS. Here's one for you Aussies, even with a TM reference.

I like this thread, and think it's a good way to get to know folks a little, so I'm keeping her alive. Here's another one I was in the mood for this morning - not my 'usual' genre so to speak, but I do like I Am Kloot on occasion.

Gods I love Sunshine. The music in it is just amazing! Esp Adagio in D Minor. OST's are just the best.

One of my favourite John Murphy tracks;
What I did not know has cost you dear, for there is no cure for death..

Fell a bit behind on this one! Funny you should have linked a Sunshine track PMD, as a film it has one of my favourite modern soundtracks. I have not seen 28 Weeks, only the first one 28 Days, but that track is ridiculously familiar so maybe I have and just can't remember!

Now, I'll throw up a random tune. I do not believe anyone has posted a rap song yet, and while I do hate to be that guy, I'm going to. Be that guy, that is.

The 28 Weeks theme came from the original movie, it just wasn't as prominent.

Meanwhile: John Murphy ERMAHGERD etc. He's quite the composer, eh? In my top 5.
