The trio - still more or less strangers to one another - managed to push through a hole in the onlooking crowd around the Red Dawn shuttles' crash site and head off down the street. Moving in pain, Biff was loaded up with as much salvage Remy and the others could produce from the wreckage. It wasn't much, but it was all they had to their name. The objective, known only to the mysterious stranger introduced as Mr Biff Calhoon, was outside the city in the wilderness. The metropolis was large, one of the largest on the planet, though the small group were already some way towards the outskirts. How they would get out was another issue, without a vehicle or ID papers that wouldn't land them in cuffs. |

Remy started to follow the stranger. Biff her heard his name was. Remy let the big man lead the way, Remy felt bad that the guy was carrying stuff, but it was needed stuff, they would need cred eventually, and this stuff would hopefully get them some ways to getting that cred. Remy was at the back of them, with Jenna in the middle, the big man leading the way. Remy didn't trust the man, and would make sure he kept an eye on him, especially with Jenna, and the cargo they were carrying. The guy seems nice enough, but Remy wasn't very trusting at the moment, what with their fugitive status. "Names Remy" he shouted loud enough for Biff to hear. "How fars camp?" Remy questioned. |

Biff looked back at the young man. "My camp is about a klick out of town. Forest is pretty dense there so it's nice and private." He turned now to the young lady. "If you haven't heard the names Biff." Biff turned over a thought in his head and then said,"You guys realize that with all this gear and no valid idents on us we're not going to have an easy time with the checkpoint at the city border. I myself have fallin' to the wayside of the law. Didn't do what I was acused of but I don't expect you folks to take my word for it." |

Remy listened to Biff as he talked. Remy breathed heavily, it was starting to take its toll all this running around, Remy hadn't really had much of a rest bite since they got locked up back at the space station. "Wait we need idents to get out of the city?" Remy said simply Remy didnt understand what the man meant, did he mean that they needed idents to go to the outskirts of the city, or did they need idents to leave the city? Either way, they would need idents sometime soon. Not just him, but Jenna and the rest of the crew. Remy had a bit of money stashed, what he had himself, and what he picked up in the jail, but they also had all these parts they had lifted from the ship and shuttle, as well as these vials, hopefully they would be worth something |

Biff plowed ever onward though the pain was extrordinary. He heard Remy's question. Trying to think was near impossible through the pain and Biff knew that he needed to brighten up if he was going to figure anything out. He decided to trust the two he was with with what he guessed already about his own situation. "Here's what I figure so far as I can tell from clues and the little I recall." Sweat poured down his whole body, "I woke up after a very eventfull drinking binge and had to find the men who robbed me. That done I thought my luck was about to change." Biff listened to see if Remy or the young girl were reacting to the tale so far, "Turns out from what I've seen on the cortex I've run afowl of some corrupt Fed name of Edgecombe who blew an apartment building I just came out of and has now pointed the law my way. For such vicious acts of terrorism you can best imagine that there are now checkpoints going out of this city now."Biff stopped a moment and looked at his new companions. "That's when you all crashed into my life and near as I can tell you aren't to keen on makin' aquaintences with the local authorities." Biff began to walk again. Gorram I shouldn't have stopped! Starting again hurts even worse. "Remy if we aren't unloading some of this cargo now then your little friend here might have to cause a diversion so that you and I loaded up as we are can get past the checkpoint." |

With Biff in the lead, the group had been on the move for a little under half an hour without incident. Some sideways glances were certain to follow, but a few sly moves through the crowds had managed to hide their trail for now. Getting out of the city was the next big complication. Following the only path he knew, Biff had led the small group back towards the diner where he'd attempted to enjoy breakfast less than an hour earlier. Smoke was still rising a few blocks over, the aftermath of the bombing he'd just described. The good thing was that an explosion that size, and a shuttle crashing into the middle of the city, made for the perfect level of commotion for their escape. The trio had stumbled into the markets, a huge open plaza full of vendors with setup stalls all over the place. Just about anything you could think of - food, clothes, electronics, blades... everything - seemed to have a price on it here. There were no signs of local authorities nearby, either. On the opposite side of the plaza, a small section of road had been roped off and a two man construction team were taking turns descending into a hole in the road, most likely to the sewer tunnels below. Some kind of maintenance, most likely, though clearly nothing too extravagant if only two workers were called in for it. |

Remy listened to Biff as he made a comment about Jenna creating a diversion. Remy didnt like that, he didnt want Jenna to be in any kind of trouble. Sure he had no real connection to her, relation wise, but he felt some form of kinship to her because of their illegal stealing of ship. Remy didn't say anything, he just thought, as they walked. They walked And walked They finally got to a marketplace of some sort. Remy looked around, the hustle and bustle, maybe they could sneak out suing something from here? "We can try and unload some of the shuttle and ship parts here, we could get a bit of cred for it." Remy said looking around. Remy still had no idea how they were going to get past the check point, but offloading most of the stuff here would be the best idea. It would leave them with only the vials, which he didnt want to sell, until he knew what they were, and how much he could get for them. Remy stopped, putting the bags on the ground. Remy asked for the other bag, they were all put down on the ground with the three of them surrounding them so no one could see/take anything from them. Remy started to move the machine parts into one bag, trying to keep them all together, the vials were placed in all the other bags that they had with them. Remy looked at the Diner, and at Biff and Jenna. Remy palmed a bit of his cred, and passed it to them. "Jenna, go with Biff, get some food, you look hungry and I think Biff could use a bit of time to sit down, take the bags with you. I'll be as quick as I can" Remy picked up the machine parts and walked into the bag with the machine parts and made his way into the market, to try and barter. |

There were multiple vendors nearby with small seating areas shaded by large umbrellas. The food on offer was limited, to say the very least, but being picky about that wasn't really on the cards just yet. Just down the same line of stalls, Remy caught sight of a large area with a huge pavilion over it, tables and shelves filled with bits and pieces similar to what he had to bargain with. Perhaps a possible buyer. |

Remy watched as the two f them left to go to the diner. He then made his way down the stalls, trying to see if they would buy stuff, but it seemed like most of the people were selling. Remy was getting frustrated, he was usually a man who had an order to his life, things were done at particular times, and he had a routine, but since the break out, he had to be something different. He had to evolve. Remy finally got to a a place which had similar parts which he was selling. "I'm selling some engine machine parts, and other knick knacks, you buying?" Remy said simply to the stall owner |

Jenna wandered along with Biff looking around and taking in as much as she could. Every so often she would turn back hopping that she could still see Remy hopping that he was going to be alright by himself. Jenna stopped and looked at a booth filled with all sorts of bladed weapons. wishing she had the time or the credits to replace the knives she had hidden on her side. She knew that now wasn't the time. If she had to she would give up the credits she had been hiding but not until she absolutely had to. After sever seconds of coveting the new blades Jenna realized that Biff had kept moving towards the dinner and right now her stomach won out over the thought of new weapons and she scooted back to try and keep up. |

Biff put the bags down and relief washed over him. Biff looked around the plaza and followed Remy's gaze.
Biff made a straight shot towards the diner always looking for possible Feds or local law. Suddenly he stopped remembering the news broadcast that had chased him out of the diner in the first place. Turning to Jenna he said, "Jenna someone from the diner may remember me from earlier. Maybe we should grab food from one of these stalls over there." Biff pointed to a vendor stall that sat next to one of the shaded sitting areas. "We can have a seat with the food and have a clear sightline to Remy. Something's got my dander up and I'm nervous as hell leaving him exposed like that." Biff walked up to the vendor he had indicated and asked, "Excuse me sir do you think my friend and I could get some of your..." Biff looked and the "food" it wasn't the worst he's seen but it didn't look like the best either. Oh well we need to eat."....food?" |

Jenna continued to follow Biff. The idea of going to the diner all but squashed when Biff remembered why he had left in the first place. She looked around at the food stalls. the look of the food reminded her that she had seen and eaten a lot worse when she was on the streets. Jenna smiled as she noticed Biff's hesitation. "Come on think of it as an experiment . I bet you've never eaten anything like this before.| Jenna wandered up to the stall and pointed at a few of the less scary things and looked at the vendor. "Could you please make sure that there is enough for three?" Jenna looked back to the last place she had seen Remy. Okay he's still there everything is all good. The merchant, a dark skinned bald man, was more than delighted to help himself to the bundle of odds and ends that Remy had brought to his stall, his huge grin widening with every new item that he laid his hands on. "You're a wise man. These parts... you know how to impress." He gave a wink and started bundling the odds and ends together, mentally noting down what was on offer and flicking through a bundle of Credit notes he had in his off hand. "I think I can do very good deal for you, sir." Finally, a full inventory taken, the man started dishing out the Credits, methodically counting the notes as he laid them down on the counter before Remy. Four hundred, five hundred, six hundred... Across the plaza, in clear eyesight of the mechanics stall, Biff and Jenna were struggling to communicate. Of all vendors, they'd picked the one who knew neither English nor Chinese - his language was fast and foreign, though they managed to find themselves with three small dishes of assorted... 'meats'. A few credits later, the pair were seated at a long bench that ran down the side of the stall, watching Remy accept what looked like a large amount of paper money. "It's them mule races, I'm telling ya." The obnoxious conversation faded in as the two city engineers who'd been working on the corner of the plaza walked up to the stall Biff and Jenna were sitting at. "Every few months the damn kids get down in them tunnels. I ain't complainin', though. Jobs a job. You'd think there'd be some kind of security concern there, though, doncha think?" The man speaking nodded to a few items in the vendors display cabinet, pulling out a bundle of Credit notes. His friend stayed quiet, making his own order. The hole they'd been working in across the plaza was unoccupied now, save for the security tape that was hung around it. |

Biff took a bite of the meat. Lifting his eyebrows in surprise he said, "I won't judge that book by it's cover anymore. It might not look very appealin' but this isn't half bad." Biff watched Remy wheel and deal with the merchant. He scanned the plaza for possible threats. Remy seemed to be doing very well by the looks of things. Biff looked to Jenna who watched Remy with great interest. Biff realized that she was scanning for threats too. There was more to her then meets the eye. I'll not judge this book by her cover either. "Looks like Remy's Companion charm has done wonders for the war chest. Haha. I bet he could sell an Alliance soldier a gently used browncoat." As he spoke two loud gents walked up speaking loud enough to make Biff think these feh feh pi gohs* were making a public announcement.
Listening to the loud mouth spew out his annoying drivel made Biff want to stab him right there, but his days of killing for slights of etiquette were over. He was a new man now granted with left over baggage from the old life. As much as the baboon annoyed him what he was talking about did in fact interest him. Biff looked across the plaza past Remy and the merchant was the workplace and tunnel entrance the baboon was yelling about. Biff looked at Jenna nodded towards the tunnel and said, "So do you think Remy will want to do some tunnel exploration on our way out of the city? _______________________________________________________________________ * Feh feh pi goh = Baboon's ass crack |

Remy was expecting more of a bartering system to what he had, but when the stall owner started putting money down in front of him, and really not knowing what the value of what he had, as long as it seemed like a decent amount he was going to take it. Remy already had some credits, from his own pocket, and what he had taken from the guards in the cells, and from the bags of numerous inmates before they escaped. They had many numerous things that they were selling, and getting rid of them was going to help them to move quicker, and more under cover. The only thing they had left was the numerous bags of vials they had. Remy had no idea what was in them, or what they did, but they would be worth a pretty penny, they just had to find out WHAT they were. Remy smiled at the man as he laid down the money, taking it, and nodding at him, he wished the stall owner a pleasant day, pocketed the cred, and made his way back to the others, eventually finding them, as they had moved from where they originally had planned to be. Remy was back with them, and seen that they had some food, Remy smiled at them both "Well we got some cred, and a load of our backs, just need to find a way out of here" he said simply. |

Biff gave Remy a few minutes to eat. Then he pointed out the sewer tunnel. "Just before you came over those two knuckle heads over there were talking about the serious security breach that is the city sewers. What do you think do you want to sneak out underground?" Biff looked at Jenna to back him up here. They needed to move soon before the loud baboon and his friend go back to work. Biff finished his meal and threw the plate away in a nearby bin. "We need to go soon." |

Remy savored the food, it wasn't the best of food, and not what he was used to, being from a Companion background, but because of the situation he was in, he had been adapting pretty well. Remy listened to Biff, then looked at Jenna for confirmation, it wasnt that he didnt trust Biff, its just that he had been through more with Jenna. "Well, if we go underground, it means saving what cred we have at the moment, sounds like the best plan we have" said Remy It wasnt really the best plan they had, it was the only plan they had. Remy didn't want to spend much of the creds they had, afterall, they would need it sooner or later. Remy finished his food, and looked at his bags, all he had was the creds, his personal belongings, and the vials of mysterious liquid. Remy stood up and looked at both of them "Lets get out of here" said Remy, he knew that with food in the their bellies the only thing that they needed more was a good nights sleep. |

The small would-be escape route was simply an overturned manhole cover which, presumably, would lead down to the sewer system under the city streets. The two workers who were presumably in charge of the 'work site' were still distracted at the small food stall, now mumbling to one another as they eyed off a young lady across the street. |

Biff eyed his two new companions and gave them a nod. The baboon and his friend weren't paying any attention and the work space was far enough from them that if they moved now by the time anyone took noticed it would be too late for anyone to do anything, they would be in the sewers dashing towards their escape. "Alright it's now or never."Biff began walking towards the unguarded sewer enterance still as always scanning the crowd for threats. When he reached the sewer he peeked over the edge and saw no one at least directly under the holes entrance. Pulling out his knife and putting it into his mouth he, with much pain, decended the ladder into the unknown. He strangely loved this part of things. At least the anticipation and excietment made him feel something that wasn't negative. At the bottom he awaited his friends which he was starting to think of them as. Remy was warming up to him. The vibe from him had lifted away from distrust to cautiousness. A good sign and the remarkable Jenna who he now saw in a new light, she's a warrior at heart. The three of them without all the gear slowing them down are going to be a force to be reckoned with should others try to stop them leaving the city. Palming the knife so that the blade went down his forearm in the reverse combat hold Biff scanned the dank tunnel. |

Remy waited, with the gang, for the right moment. When it came, Biff took the lead, going down into the drain, Remy looked at Jenna, he jerked his head to the drain, motioning for her to go next. Remy didn't want it so she would be left on her own, Remy would go last. Eventually the coast was clear, Remy made his way to the drain, dropping down, he descended the ladder, and there they all were, in the sewer. Just when Remy thought his life couldn't get any worse. Karma was being a bitch to him for some reason, and he had always led a good life, maybe it would come around and it would get much better from here. "Which way? Remy said simply. It seemed like they hadn't been seen, so hopefully it would be clear sailing from here on out. |
