Cyrus nodded to Val's offer - finally, a quiet beer - and then turned to Remy. Jenna was nearby, and he made sure to keep her in earshot. He didn't like taking command like this. His days of barking orders were long over, days he had no intention of revisiting. But they needed to move. "Somewhere outside the city sounds good. Remy... are you happy to go with Mr Calhoon here?" There was a glint in his eyes as he spoke, asking for trust. "We'll either meet you there at that bar, or we'll meet you outside the city before that deadline comes. You can try to salvage some of that stuff on your way out. Just don't linger too long." He looked up and down the streets, wondering just how long it would take for the officials to arrive. "We'll meet again, soon. you won't get left. And hopefully we can all get clear of this." He looked around the group, at the companion and his new drinking buddy and the young girl. And Saren. "Together." |

Biff looked back at the young girl and the young companion, Remy. He knew that Remy was apprehensive about his barging in on his life. Things being turned around he would think the same of the young man. "If it helps your decision any after you try to salvage your wares I'll hunt down some meat and we'll have a hell of a dinner around the fire." Biff looked at Remy and the young woman. "If you still don't feel up to staying with me at least come see where the camp is. That way if worse comes to worse you will at least have someplace to come back to." Biff looked at the man Remy called Val and the older man and his young friend. "Gents, lady,"Biff nodded to the young woman,"I'll see you at the Anchor in three days." At this Biff nodded at Remy and his young friend, " You both are more then welcome." He then turned and continued down the road. |

At the mention of food Jenna realised that her stomach was pretty empty. She looked at Remy in the hopes that he might take the new guy up on his offer. She wandered over to him as the stranger walked away. You know it might not be a bad idea at least to check things out at his camp I mean until you get a hold of your contacts we may need a place to hide besides his place has the possibility of having food and I can't remember the last time I ate. |

Remy was told by Val to go with the new guy. Remy wasn't entirely comfortable with that, especially with Jenna in tow, but he didn't really have any option, even if they were to find a contact on the planet, they weren't going to respond straight away, it may take a coupe of hours, a day at most. The guy offered food, and at that he saw Jenna come around to going with the stranger, it was strange what a lack of food would do to a person. Remy had no choice, it seemed like everything was willing him to go with the stranger. Remy could feel the kantana on his back in its sheath, hopefully he wouldn't have to use it, but it was there, as a precaution. Remy listened to Jenna as she talked to him. "Guess we're going with you" Remy said "Any chance you might be able to carry some stuff if we can grab what we can scavenge?" Remy finished. Remy didnt wait for an answer, going into the shuttle, his bags were full of vials and pieces of the ship they had blown up, Jenna had a bag of vials, but maybe some shuttle parts could come in handy. Remy stripped what he could, pretty much ripping it out from the shuttle, and put it into a spare bag he found laying around, the rest of the space was filled with the vials. That would hopefully be enough for them, they wouldnt, hopefully, need to come back, but it was all they could carry between them. If the stranger couldn't carry them, then Remy was going to have some hell of a journey with everything he had. "Ready" Edited by ribsource, Nov 6 2012, 11:36 AM.

Biff watched Remy fill some more bags. Whew whew suck it up! "Remy you are going to have to load me up. I can't bend down and lift them. Couple broken ribs from an unrelated bit of ruckus, it's a bit of a tale for later. Heheh." He winced and beckoned the young man to load him up. I know what Remy's thinking that the Feds are going to secure and make this wreck disappear. Smart man. "We take all this to my humble campsite then while I get us some food you can try to make contact with some help." Thinking back to the chaos of the crash Biff remembered that he could only grab two of the vials. Looking at the crates Biff said, "Remy before you load me with other bags you should finish filling my rucksack now that I'm standing." He hated to wait any longer but with the young Companion was going with him he could help carry a whole lot more. Looking at the other group Biff nodded, "Three days. We'll all be there." |

Cyrus gave a long look at the companion, nodding to him as his eyes moved on to the younger girl. He'd barely even caught her name, yet he felt responsible for them all. It wasn't the old man who'd got them into this, but what sense was there in pointing fingers. He was doing the best he could. "Yes..." He trailed off a little, beckoning Saren to move with him as he started after his drinking buddy. "Three days." Remy, Jenna and Biff exit to <<Into the Wild>> The crowd had parted as the two trios left the crash site, moments before police vehicles arrived on the scene and small crafts flew overhead. There would only be a small window between the officials arriving on the scene and some onlooker pointing them in the direction of the fugitives. They had to act fast. "Val, you got a destination?" The old man had hitched his rucksack over one shoulder, doctors bag in the other hand, the limp returned to his stride. |

Joseph gave the departing group a solemn, silent nod. Hopefully at least some of them would make it out of this alive. He sighed to himself, looking down and closing his eyes for a moment. "Huh?" he asked as Cyrus spoke to him. "Oh, right." Looking around, he made a strange 'ehhhh' noise before finally locking his gaze on some distant point. "That way." he stated with an odd smile, throwing his backpack over his shoulder and taking a step in the direction he'd indicated. Pausing for a moment, he turned around and glanced over his shoulder, watching the Feds discover their crash site. He shook his head and spat at his feet. "Catch us if you can." he muttered to himself, and continued on to their new destination. |

Saren didn't say a word when the others parted ways. She wasn't sure what was going to happen next, but she knew as long as she was by Cyrus' side, she would safe. She followed after Cyrus, as he made his way over to Val, honing in on their conversation. Now was the time for her to stay focused in case they were split yet again. They were to meet up with the other two and the new comer, Biff, in three days. Three days sounded like a lifetime from what she had experienced in the past 24 hours. The sound of sirens filed Saren's ears, and she had noticed they were on the move, yet again. Hopefully this time the Feds won't catch up. She knew how to lay low, she'd been doing it all her life. Saren seemed to trail behind Cyrus on their walk to the destination Val had so enthusiastically pointed out. "No turning back now..." she mumbled to herself, and caught up to Cyrus' pace. |

Joseph moved casually through the somewhat empty streets, head down as he searched his mind for old details. He'd know the place when he got there, but the name? Corrupt dives didn't really tend to stick with him, unless their owners were known to him through one way or another. He wasn't quite sure which category this slipped into. Verbena was a nice little hideaway for those crossing the thin purple line. With one of the Godfathers of Crime sitting pretty in orbit, it tended to attract the sons and daughters of particularly disappointed, usually deceased, parents. Without breaking stride, he smiled as he wondered if he was one of them. Ahead of them the streets appeared to narrow, the rows of urban architecture rising on either side as living space became a premium. Off to one side, a news agent sold digi-sheets and replayed the latest cortex feeds. Turning to Saren and Cyrus, he nodded over his shoulder toward it. "Here." he said quietly, stopping a dozen or so feet away from it. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of credit chips and looked between the two. "One of you mind picking up one or two of those?" As the situation suddenly felt a bit serious, he grinned and added. "Air-ball scores, hate to fall behind." |

Cyrus grunted a response of acknowledgement to Val, and supposedly to his plan, but he remained standing aside the road a little way from the others, eyes watching up and down the narrow street. Foot traffic was pretty heavy here, with most of the vehicles nearby sitting idle by the curb. As the old man played lookout, a stubby woman at the news agent nodded to Joseph as he approached the stands. "Quite the mornin', ain't it?" She smiled a genuine smile, clearly interested in what kind of coin the newcomers had, but still a friendly face. They'd only be gone from the crash site for twenty minutes or so, but clearly it didn't show. Yet. |

A smile crossed Saren's face. Seeing a man who was in as much trouble as she was in, smile and joke about Air-ball... She felt happy. Something she hadn't felt in a long time. She knew they were going to make it, somehow. Saren turned and looked at Cyrus, thinking aloud, "I wonder where we're off to next..? She turned back to look at Val over by the news stands, "Hopefully we can get something to eat too, I'm starving!" she added. She awaited Val's return from the stands, and Saren asked him about a place a to eat, quickly followed by a large grumble of her stomach. Embarrassed, Saren's face went a bright red and her eyes darted straight to the ground. Her eyes returned to Val's, in hopes he'd find a place soon. |

Joseph looked to vendor, gave an uninterested nod, and looked down to the digi-sheets with keen interest. He read quietly, an amused grin on his face, eyes narrowing every now and then. Skipping past a few pages in the middle, he checked the back of the sheet, to the help wanted section. Running his eyes down the list, finally stopping on one in particular. 'Ezkrabah the Amaazing! Futures foretold, pasts uncovered.' Read the advert, with a few details and basic prices below. Smiling, Joseph handed the credits over and rolled the sheet into a more manageable weapon. He returned to the his companions and said quietly "We depart. It's a bit early in the day for where we're headed, so unless you've got some sight seeing to do, was thinking maybe…." the sentence drifted off as his eyes scanned the crowd before him. This time they appeared to be locked on a sign which welcomed visitors and their various desires. Suddenly he was back where he stood, starring into the distance. "….a quiet lunch or such?" he suggested with a mischievous grin. |

Cyrus, standing sentinel as his eyes bored holes into every single passer by, grunted and shook his head at the suggestion for lunch. He knew Val was up to something, but the old man hadn't quite caught on just yet. He was hungry, yes, but he was more alert than anything else. That being said, there'd still been no sign that the Feds were onto them, or looking for survivors at all. they would be eventually, though, there was no doubt about it. "A meal might do well. Somewhere inconspicuous, though. Nothing unsavoury." He finally looked to his new friend, meeting his eyes with the last word. |

Fighting back a grin, Joseph looked to Cyrus and nodded. "Kinda narrows down the selection, this being Verbana and all." He paused, peering over the mans shoulder at some Feds passing by on patrol in the distance. They didn't seem to be looking for anything in particular though. "Still, time is creds and we've little of either." Turning on the spot he did his best to make out the signs and various shop fronts through the shifting mass of the passing crowds, making out everything on sale from fresh meat to off-world plots of land, neither of which seemed particularly enticing at this very moment. "C'mon, the food ain't gonna find us." he said over one shoulder to the pair as he took a few steps into the swirling crowds. |

Cyrus followed close behind, shepherding Saren with one arm so that she remained in sight as he followed Val off into the busy streets. The group weren't far from a large commercial district - chances were the policing there would be of a higher standard, but they'd definitely have a more open array of information to go on. Whether or not anyone could identify them from the crash site was still unknown, but the old man wasn't sure that their luck would hold up much longer. Ahead Cyrus nodded to his new companion and they turned down a side street - it was quieter, but the crowd was still thick enough to get lost in. the street was mostly filled with small diners and eateries, as well as touristy shops and the occasion office block. finding a meal wouldn't be too much a problem, though Cyrus took note of the multiple pairs of offices patrolling the street. Was this a normal level of security? "How's this joint up here look?" He said quietly to his traveling companions, gesturing to a small store on the corner up ahead. It looked a little run down and dingy, but the smells issuing from the front door were just as enticing as any others. |

Joseph strolled silently beside Cyrus, carefully moving through the waves of people without saying a word. The trio turned off down an alley, the main walkways being littered with an unusual amount of Alliance patrols, which didn't bode well for any of them. Stopping halfway down, Joseph followed Cyrus' gesture and eyed up the corner store with an unimpressed stare. "I dunno, ya really think we can afford it?" he asked quietly with a deadpan face. Turning to see their response, he spotted two Alliance turning off the street as they had. He looked sideways to Cyrus with a smile. "Looks good! Lets eat." he added quickly with an unusual level of faux excitement, before turning on his heel and making his way inside. |

Cyrus shook his head at Joseph - he'd usually have grinned at the remarks, but the pair of local law men walking passed on the opposite side of the street held his attention. They didn't seem to be watching the group, at least not from where the old man was standing, but he didn't like their odds if they remained in the open."Let's." The old man turned to Saren, cocking his head as Joseph led the way. "You all good?" |

Once their eyes adjusted to the change of light, the three found the small diner to be cleaner than might have been expected. Black and White checkered tiles lined the floor meeting up with walls painted a calm color of blue though in places they were stained with smoke from both the kitchen and cigarettes. A couple of men sat at a table off the the left, talking over coffee and eggs, completely disinterested in the entering patrons. Off to the right, sitting at the bar was the only other patron. An elderly man who was going on and on to the barkeep about some big to-do that probably happened years ago if it ever happened at all. The Barkeep, an older, bearded man leaned against the wall, puffing lightly on a cigarette as he listened to the man ramble on with an expression of tormented boredom. His face brightened at the entering customers, seemingly happy to have an excuse to ignore the old man for a spell. Ah. Welcome t' Joe's. Coffee's fresh and th' bread ain't stale. Joseph took a few steps into the place and quickly looked around. Nothing in particular jumped out at him, so he approached the barkeep with a smile. "Evenin'." he said with his usual Core world twang, giving the man a nod as he spoke. "Whiskey on the rocks and whatevers left that's still fresh." he asked, with a sideways glance to the those eating their eggs. He leaned forward against the bar, turning to get a look at the elderly man to his side before quickly turning his back on them both and facing toward the door. Looking to Cyrus, he gave the man a subtle nod then threw his gaze toward one of the empty tables in a nearby corner. Joseph then reached down and slowly opened his coat, one hand slipping into the darkness underneath before returning with a small, unmarked box. Twisting where he stood, Joseph looked over his shoulder to the barkeep and rattled the cigarette box softly. "You mind?" |

Cyrus was eying every detail of the dinging old place as they walked from the door to the bar, letting Joseph lead the way. He was impressed the way the younger man was handling everything - more so, with the way that everyone had handled it. Wasn't every day you'd survive a crash landing, let alone one in a shuttle. Not to mention the whole 'wanted' thing. They were alive, though. That's what mattered, right? "Another of what he's having." Cyrus produced a small handful of crumpled Credit bills and dropped them on the counter in front of Joseph with a nod. The limp in his leg was back in force; not the sciatica this time, but the sheer force that the metal beam inside the shuttle had exerted into his thigh. More damage to an already run down body. "Something fresh." He scoffed at that, turning to find an empty, preferably isolated, table that they could use to catch their breath. |
