Guirun watched Alex get a bit closer to the lump of metal before continuing, making sure her pistol was loose in the holster on her hip. As he approached it she started to feel a little sick. Whilst she had fought in the war like she had said, she hadn't actually been in combat for a year and a half at least. And she had seen what being out of practise meant in situations like this.

What is it?

She put her fingers back on her gun, just in case.

From this distance it just appeared to be two, disfigured bars of steel, wrapped around one another and bured firmly into the ground. Beneath it, the soil seemed to cover more of it. Any further clues would require closer observation.

Xavier looked at both of the Alexes and then at his friend more closely as he pulled out his pistol and motioned towards the metal.

What do you say?

He started in a bit closer towards the steel bars with a curious look on his face,

Maybe we can get to whatever's down there and salvage something?

Alex shook his head as he moved toward the bars.

Hard to say. Looks like just a couple of mangled steel bars. Might be related to the wreckage we're looking for and yet, could be another crashed ship. Could be nothing at all but it's worth investigating at least for a short time.

He motioned around the clearing.

Have a look-see for any other traces of a possible crash.

Guirun stepped forward tentatively. When she reached the edge of the crash-site she looked around. As far as she could tell there was nothing worth scavenging, but then that was why they were making a living from this and she wasn't. Glancing across Alex seemed to be hard at work, looking through the wreckage whilst Xavier was checking the surrounding forest. Stepping over the first couple of bits of metal, she saw something glint in the light.

There's something over here!

Hints of silver and black could be seen beneath the tossed soil as the adventurers approached. The bars seemed to be part of a large, submerged sheet of the same metal, easily the size of their whole party.

Whatever it was, it had landed with enough force to hide itself. From the shape and what remained of the design, it appeared to be a single piece of harden hull plating, nothing more.

Both of the Alex's were right, as small items of wreckage and disfigured trees pointed the way on. Straight up a small, odd looking hill, over which the trees had vanished. According to the GPS co-ords for the ship, they were headed in the same direction.

Must have been one hell of a crash.

Alex took in the sight all around the clearing before heading over toward the other Alex.

Looks like this is from our ship alright. That path of debris and destruction is headed in the right direction.

He was more than a little concerned about the condition of objects aboard the ship. He wasn't any sort of expert on crashes themselves but he though there had to have been some sort of fight either with another ship or on aboard to cause the hull to rip away and land here or the ship simply hit so hard that the hull was ripped off and left buried while the rest of the ship came to rest further out.

Let's keep going. We can follow this path until we're tired. Then we'll make camp.

Xavier nodded to both Alexes as he kicked about some of the dirt around the protruding metal sheets before giving it a tentative tug to see just how lodged into the ground it is.

Well as long as we know we're going the right way.

Upon finding how dug in the metal sheet was he gave it a slight kick before walking away to check the path before him and his two smaller companions.

Xavier found the buried sheets to be anchored firmly in place, they weren't going anywhere soon. The rest of the scattered wreckage seemed to be shorn off bolt heads and other indistinguishable knots of alloy.

As they continued up the hill the trees slowly cleared away. Up ahead appeared a ledge of some sort, a setting sun beginning to dip below it in the background. The path seemed to end at the ledge, disappearing over it.

Alex frowned as he peered over the edge of the ledge. He couldn't make out how far down the dropoff was. Could be only a few feet yet perhaps a hundred feet. Maybe more. He sighed before turning back to the others.

Looks like this is as far as we go until morning. It's too dangerous to climb down in the dark without even knowing just how far down it is.

He motioned back toward the unnatural clearing.

Best make camp back there and start fresh in the morning.

Guirun lay on the ground and watched the trails of spacecraft criss-cross the sky and the horizon. A few meters from her she could hear Alex and Xavier talking quietly in the gloom. As her eyes started to drift shut the moon finally peered over the mountain range that dominated the skyline, bathing the clearing in an ethereal glow.

He looks around the clearing and stretches out while turning to Alex, So think there's anything we'll have to deal with out here, wildlife, people, what not?

The larger man leans against a plate of scrap as he starts to check his gear.

Alex shook his head, looking over his shoulder at the various streaks in the sky as ships broke or hit atmo. Being spotted from above was exactly why he hadn't bothered with a fire. They didn't need to go attracting attention to themselves.

I haven't heard or seen anything to suggest any animals save, perhaps, rodents and bugs. Folk on the other hand. No telling. Might be others who've found the same info. That shifty old man might have contracts other other treasure hunters. He might even have spies out here trying to track us.

He looked back in the direction they had come from.

I'll take first watch. You get some shuteye. I'll wake you for second watch. Better safe than sorry.

When attention was being turned skywards, or at other things, a voice came from just outside their field of vision.

I'd turn around slowly and head back the way you came if I were you. You're gettin' awfully close to my meal ticket.

Anyone who turned to look would see a five foot tall woman in a longcoat, wielding two large caliber pistols held ready, but not aimed at anyone. Her stance shows off that she knows how to use her pistols. Even from her relaxed state, she looks like she might be able to shoot one of you if you twitched wrong.

...And I'd watch your back headin' out too. The spiders might make a good meal of you otherwise.

Alex was on his feet, hand to his own gun the moment her heard the voice. He slowly removed his hand seeing the woman, not only armed, but with the barrels pointed squarely at them. He could shoot but he knew he couldn't draw fast enough let alone be accurate.

Mentally he cursed. He had hoped this would go smoothly.

He tried to whisper to Xavier. He knew his pal would understand what he ment.

It big enough?

He held his hands out, level with his shoulders. she had the drop on them for now and there was no telling how many people she might have with her.

Easy there Missy. We don't want no trouble but we already have a contract for this job.

Guirun's eyes flickered open, as a silhouette stepped into the moonlight. The guns in her hands were not exactly small. Well she had known violence was likely when she had taken the job, she had just thought they might actually be able to reach the crash site before the shooting began. She didn't think she had been seen. Slowly, she started sliding her hand down till she felt the well worn grip of her pistol.

The small girl had good eyes, and she made sure that she knew the situation before she stepped out into the open. When the prone woman started to inch her hand to her gun, Erideth stated,

I wouldn't do that if I were you, that is, if you wanna keep that hand.

She was giving a warning before getting trigger happy, that was good, right? She went on with a glance towards the standing man as well,

Now then, you look familiar, and so does the big guy...please tell me you're Alliance so my girls can have a little fun.

She grinned at that last little bit, but it was a predatory grin, one that didn't bode well for if they were Alliance.

Alex smirked and allowed himself a light chuckle.

Honey, do you seriously think there'd only be three of us if we we're Alliance? I got nothing against the Alliance long as they let me and mine alone. They've had their fun but I wouldn't go mentioning them again or Xavier here is likely to lose all sense of self control. And you don't want that.

Xavier's hair stands on end upon hearing the woman's voice behind him and he slowly turns around to see Erideth standing there with guns drawn. He gives a very slight nod to Alex as he speaks up to the woman holding them at gun point.

I'm not afraid of spiders.

The large man lifting his gloved hands slowly, though noticing how Guirun moves shakes his head just slightly while tilting his head just slightly at the questioning gun toting short lady.

Do we look like the Gorram Alliance little girl?

The large man had a bit of a smirk on his face when he tilted his neck to the other side and letting it crack loudly.

Lose control boss? Nah, I know exactly what I'm doing when it comes to them.

He looks off to the side and spits on the ground while talking about The Alliance.

Erideth carried on as if she didn't have two guns pointed at the group, even though neither of them waivered too far.

You'd better be wary of these spiders. They're big, hairy...and nocturnal. They'll bite your head off if you give 'em a chance...but they don't seem to be so fond of fire and guns...for some reason. She gave a small smirk.

She did seem a little disappointed that who she was squaring off against wasn't Alliance though, not seeming like she was looking too forwards to putting a bullet in anyone just yet.

I still say you're gettin' close to my meal ticket, and I don't care if someone's hired you or not...I'm gettin' some loot, and I'm goin' to make a penny doin' so.

She didn't look like it was something she'd just walk away from.
