Xavier nodded to his friend, a scowl still on his face, as he stretched It better be from your share.. He looked at the door then back at Alex, Machetes, at least four. he simply states. |

Alex nodded to the woman. Don't dawdle. If you're late we won't be waiting. Nothing personal. Time is money. He waited untill she was out the door before leaning toward Xavier. Drop in the bucket my old friend. If the paperwork I dug up on this old transport is acturate we'll be taking home more than what old man Sirrone is paying us for some old trinkets. There's plenty of more valuable artifacts aboard that ship that we can take with us. That our new little friend doesn't need to know about. Edited by Khei, Oct 7 2012, 03:58 AM.

Xavier perked up at Alex's comment and let out a rumbling laugh as he leaned back in his chair, Well then, it sounds like it will be a good day after all. After a moment the large man settles back into his seat and smirks, Do I still have time for some tea before we head out then? he asks, trying to remind his old friend of the afore mentioned meal that was offered up before they were interrupted. Leaning over the table he mentions in a hushed tone, And before I forget, what do you have in mind for our little... exit strategy, old friend? |

Ah yes. I nearly forgot. He made a motion to wave over a waitress while he answered his friend Nothing extravagant. Small explosive in a box. A box that will contain the GPS coordinates of the goods. Once you're away with the rest of our payment, I and our little friend will go with them to the location. Should go smoothly. Once everything's wrapped up all neat like, I'll give our friend her credits and we can rendevous at the docks. I imagine you'd like to get off this rock as soon as possible too. He grins and nods, Delay timer, pressure switch, GPS trigger? And how big are we talking, take off a hand or take out a ship?/b] He sighs a bit, placing both hands on the table, It's getting a bit stale around here, though it's better than where I was. |

Outside, Guirun was able to make her way across the small town to the second of only two local motels. The streets were almost deserted by this point and traffic was non-existent. At their booth, the console uplink in one of Alex's pockets beeped to life with a quick text message and coordinates to confirm that their travel had been arranged. Whether they headed off on what was likely to be a three hour trip to the jungle that evening or in the morning, it was their decision. |

Alex checked the console with a nod. Looks like our transport is ready. I'd rather not waste money on a dingy room around here when the accommodations won't be much different out there. Lets get some food before we go. that should give the girl plenty of time to get back here. He smirked toward Xavier. Ready for a little bit of adventure? |

He looks at Alex with a smirk and shrugs, It's probably better than a prison bed as well. Well, when am I not ready for a bit of fun my friend? Let's eat and go. The large man leaned back and contemplated his 'project' he'd need to have done by the time they got back and how much of an explosion he should put in since he was never given a clear indication of how big it should be. |

Guirun walked back to the blue fiddle. She had picked up all her worldly belongings from her accommodation which was - very generously - called an apartment. She was glad to be out of there. Her belongings amounted to a bandoleer full of a medics equipment, a small bag, and a belt with a sheathed kukri knife and her most treasured possession, an old pistol, based on a colt 1911 from earth that was. As she walked through the door Xavier glanced up. She sat down opposite him. When's the transport ready? |

The unlikely trio reunited and enjoyed a quiet, brief meal before setting off. The sun dipped low as they left the Blue Fiddle and moved across town to the pickup location, where a driver awaited them. The transport itself, the size of a small bus, was a closed roof hover mule with plenty of cargo room. Their driver for the evening, Sandiago, was quiet as he helped load up their belongings to the back of the vehicle. He was a young man, perhaps only twenty years old, and said little. He wasn't paid to talk. "It's maybe 3 hours, hmm? Make yourself at home in the back there." |

During the three hour flight in the large man starts tinkering with a box, back to anyone else who might try to watch his craft only thing he says until he's done with his box is, Tiny, small, medium, large or Whoops it's gone? his tone vague but directed at someone on board to answer his question. |

Soon as we are. Sit. Eat. Then we leave. The meal was now a distant memory as Alex sat in the transport, vaguely aware of Xavier's tinkering. With little else to do, Alex allowed his mind to wander, floating to memories of home, back before all this came to be. His visit in nostalgia was short lived as Xaiver's voice pulled him back to reality. Medium. Medium should suffice. |

As expected, the evening drive - or flight - took about 3 hours. It was quiet most of the trip, their young pilot keeping his thoughts to himself, and the sun set not long after their departure, the empty desert stretching off in all directions to nothingness. Had they been able to see the passing landscape, the trio would have been able to watch as it slowly change from brown to green, the lush countryside merging in around them. Finally, ahead of them, the jungle started to form around the roadside, and it was then that the vehicle started the slow. "So this is the place, hmmm? I think you have some way to walk. When do you think it best for me to be back here?" Clearly Sandiago wasn't waiting around to return at the end of their adventure. |

Alex turned to Sandiago with a thoughtful finger to his chin. Hard to say. I'll send a wave when we're on our way out with the goods. We'll have a better idea then. Alex knew it would likely take a day or two at best to locate the exact position of the wreckage. It would likely take at least a day to get into the wreckage and find what could be found and he at least wanted some time to go over the full details of the insurance plan with his cohorts. He threw one of the backpacks onto his back with a grunt, picking up the other packs and tossing them to Alex and Xavier one at a time before picking up a tote bag and starting off into the jungle. He knew Xavier wouldn't be far behind and he doubted that Alex would want to be left behind either. We'll be in touch! |

Xavier shoulders the backpack with a nod to Alex, holding up a box he'd been working on during the flight in one hand and then in other he pulls out his 9mm. The large man looking down at Alex with a rumbling laugh, Would it be better if I get you to hold this and I take point? He looks back at each Alex as he moving towards his old friend and cracking his neck. |

Before the trio lay a mass of ever shifting jungle. From its heart came the confused rumble of a thousand different noises all fading into one, and somewhere in there lay the job. The tree line and canopy were thin enough for the moment, but they'd have to continue on foot. The only path left had been reduced to a badly planned dirt road, as rocks and new saplings littered its surface. Meanwhile, Sandiago had nodded to Khei with a satisfied smile. "Good luck my friends, I dare say you shall need it." A moment later his was off, just another trail of dust headed off into the distance. |

Guirun watched the sun drift lazily across the sky, as they moved further and further into the trees. Slowly the undergrowth became denser and the light was being blotted out, as the canopy became denser and denser. Ahead of her Xavier was slowly forcing his way through the vegetation on the ground, whilst small squirrel creatures scurried all over the place, stopping to his at the intruding party every so often. Eventually the sun slid down the sky before cutting it's self on a dagger like mountain in the distance, flooding the forest with blood red light and the twin moons started to glow in the twilight. |

Alex nodded to Xavier as he accepted the box. Alright. The jungle grew dark long before the sun had a chance to abandon the three as they hiked deeper into the thick brush. Before long Alex had to pull out his flashlight to see where they were going. He looked around carefully for signs of game trails. He wasn't sure if they'd happen across any animals let alone the dangerous sort out here and at least a game trail or lack thereof would give him a heads up as to what they could expect. Secondly he hoped to find a suitable campsite. Alex didn't care much for stomping through a jungle not knowing forsure if there were people out there or not. |

As the light overhead began to fade, the sound of the jungle only grew. High pitched calls and low growls could be heard between a constant rustling far overhead. Yet despite its formidable appearance, the place had a certain charm. A rolling landscape. small ridges rising dropping off into lakes below. The worn paths seemed to begin but then disappear soon after. There were minimal signs of animal life, and all that could be seen were headed deeper into the jungle, due South. There didn't seem to be signs of any other people though, that was for damn sure. If anyone had been looking carefully enough, they would have spotted an unusual looking piece of tangled steel, half burred in a nearby clearing. |

Alex indeed noticed the chunk of steel, from the corner of his vision, as the light from both the fading sunlight and his flashlight. He thought it was far too soon for them to have happened upon their target. The gps coordinates were still a good ways ahead of them. Still he wanted to investigate. Hold up. There's something over here. Let's check it out but be careful. No telling what we might find out here. Without waiting he trudged off toward the chunk of metal. |
