The Glory As Khei dug a little deeper, the less things made sense. The feed itself seemed to be locked by a local administrator, yet according to the access logs that account had never even accessed the feed, let alone changed its permissions. There were however a dozen or so other sets of digital prints on the feed. Jumping to the last set just prior to the locking of the feed, Khei was able to follow the connection. On the second screen, a small map appeared, following the network of machines and servers around the surface of Persephone, until finally the mystery users path disappeared off into a point in space and stopped. A quick check against any astro-navigation logs would find such a point in space totally empty. Back on the main screen the source code for the feed revealed several small knots of complex code, hidden just under the access window and inactive for now. Were she to have accessed the feed directly, perhaps they would have been triggered. The login key however still remained illusive. |

Broken Wing Ian listened to the banter behind him unfold as he waited for the Barkeep to say anything. The answer he got from the man was not what he had hoped to hear but should have expected when it came to Ba... Tobias anyway.
As Ian pondered that his PDA bleeped and taking it ont of his pocket he activated and read the message from Khei. He smiled and thanking the Barkeep with a couple of coins he turned to his crew. "We have a trail. Come along Watsons, the game in a foot!" He had exclamed with moc drama, pausing with his one hand held high, index finger pointing to the sky, a serious expression on his face ... Until it desolved into a smile and a laugh. "Come on guys, we have a lead." He translated as he moved out toward the door. "Sorry, couldn't help myself, but our lead is a bit old and the other guys might not have it. |

Khei raised an eyebrow at the very strange trail. Who, in the sphincter of hell, are you? She muttered to herself as she worked at the knots in a way she liked to think of as "sideways". Ya know yer stuff. I'll give ya that bub. The code didn't look alliance. They were too organized. Two options popped into her head. Possibly a bounty hunter with some formidable hackng skills or an Operative. She started to worry a bit at the second option. Just what were they getting into if this Tobias had an operative on his tail? She shook it off, silently cursing herself for letting her mind wander to such assumptions as she continued to work at unlocking the feed. |

Eavesdown, Persephone Ian and the crew moved quickly to the location Khei had provided. Sure enough when they arrived there, a large billboard overhead was displaying an advertisement for a Blue Sun product in which a young woman slay an ornate dragon with a toothbrush. The place itself didn't have much else to offer. Boarded up windows with warning to trespasssers and other such un-inviting buildings. From down the street come a loud roar followed by an equally as loud crash, as one of the patrons of The Rattlensake was sent flying out the door. A cheer burst out from inside. The Glory Khei's screen registered the lines of code, one by one. Each appeared to be different, the first of course seemed to be an access trace, behind it some kind of micro-sized trojan. Impressive, but nothing she couldn't handle. Her sideways maneuvers had her around them as the access to the feed opened up. The grainy magnified image of Tobias' face cleared up, and slowly zoomed out the reveal the whole image. It was him alright, between him and whatever screen it was that had snapped him stood a large post with a screen on it. A ships ramp lay open to one side, the rest of it out of view. After appearing to wait a few moments and saying something to himself, he strolled menacingly off the screen, at which pointed the feed loop ended. A small message then flashed up at the bottom. ///FURTHER MATCHES? Y/N |

Mike held a smile on his face as Trina explained her musical tendencies. Her talk of torturous singing prompted an urge to get her to sing. "Well now..."
They were interrupted by said game, but it was with a reference that flew over Michael's head. His features screwed up in confusion and he turned to Trina to mouth 'Watsons' questioningly. After gauging a response, he shook his head and followed Dugan's direction, soon receiving a better idea of what was ahead of them. In time they were smack dab in the middle of Funsville. Becker's expression could best be described of sceptical as he took in the surroundings and the lack of invitation to explore. His attention quickly snapped onto one man's ejection from a bar. That confirmed his feeling about the kind of place they were in, and he grew wary and more attentive with regard to the gun at his waist. He knew he and Ian could deal with such a locale, but was unsure has to how comfortable Trina was. He glanced over to judge her reaction. |

Cole felt embarrassed and a little bewildered. He didn't understand what just happened but he did know that his suit was going to need dry cleaned something fierce. On Bernadette people spoke of religion at length all the time and kept a civil tongue in. Cole had only been on world for a couple weeks and it had been an experience to be sure. heart and homesick he was starting to think that he would never find a crew. Never fly. His biggest fear was that he would never feel a ship under his control. He was losing hope and this place had not welcomed him with open arms. This place was full of unsavory and violent people. Hanging out in drives like the Rattlesnake was a way of locating a crew to latch onto, but he had seen at least three fights a day along with other things his mother never told him about. Even staying under the radar was difficult due to his becoming a Rattlesnake regular. Everyday he walked in ordered a drink sat in the far back corner and tried to blend with the wall, nose in his Cortex Device. His suits didn't help him blend in. They did quite the opposite and finally someone came over to drink with him. The guy seemed nice enough to Cole at first but when Cole brought the topic of religion up, his favorite hobby, the mans tone completely changed. He had tossed Cole out into the dirty street like he was no more then the contents of his privy. Next came his luggage right onto his lower back and a couple of people standing around him. Cole looked up and managed a smile. "I guess no one here talks about religion. Got it." Cole stood and gathered his belongings and tried his best to dust himself off. He looked up at the men and woman approaching the Rattlesnake. Hey just to let you all know they are in one heck of a mood in there today." |

Trina had chuckled softly at Ian's dramatics and suppressed another chuckle at Mike's apparent confusion at the reference to Sherlock Holmes. She'd read some of the novels, but didn't want to seem to much of a know it all. Having just shaken her head and shrugged a little at Mike's curiosity, she'd followed Ian and Mike into a less savory part of town. While it wasn't someplace she would necessarily go on her own, she felt safe enough with Ian and Mike along with her. Shifting her medical bag slightly, she subtly moved it so that the over the shoulder manner in which she carried the bag didn't hinder access to her gun, just in case. Looking a little closer at their surroundings, she decided this was definitely a place she didn't want to hang around any longer than necessary and absolutely wouldn't want to be in after dark. She was just behind Ian and Mike, though as her discomfort level grew, she moved to stand more between them. Glancing first to Ian and then Mike, she caught Mike checking on her and she gave him a faint smile. Then came the rather unceremonious exit of someone and what had to be his belongings from the local 'watering hole'. Watching the young man stand, gather his things, she couldn't suppress a small smile. He looked to way out of his element, dressed as he was and she guessed he hadn't ventured out into the Black much. |

Before inputing further information, Khei did as she had before, copying the feed to her pc as well as what info she could gather with it. She then hit "Y" for the computer to continue it's search. She didn't want to bother Ian with the feed this time untill she knew if she could find more info. Everyone had to be on the docks at one time or another so without more info she thought it best to store the feed loop for the moment, leavng the others to find what info they could. |

The Glory The feed transferred to her machine in the background, starting from the point at which Tobias first entered frame. Upon release of the Y key the transfer paused for a split second. A moment later a series of high traffic connections pinged her Ariel server. Digital gauges began to raise as it was seemingly hit from all sides, she didn't have much time. The further feed had however opened up without any further trouble. From a quick scan, it seemed to document Tobias' trip through Persephone, right up to the docks themselves and the feed Khei had just accessed. There were pages of stills which linked to video streams, hundreds of angles covered by the thousands of screens. The track had to begin somewhere right? |

Ian smiled as the man stood up to brush himself off. He looked to Trina and Mike to make sure that both were still ok. Mike he trusted. Trina, he trusted with his life. he just didn't want to make hers a short one by his actions. Still, Ian was Ian afterall. He looked back at the man as he spoke.
"i've seen worse and been thrown out of better establishment than this for worse than talkin religion. But every man has his own ideas on what's above or below." He looked again at the man, noting the suit cases "Lookin for a place ta kick up yer heels? I've got the room. An old Mayfly. I'm takin on passenger. Sometimes they become crew." He looked over at Mike as he spoke. "Interested? Our current path leads back through those doors at the moment. Tag along if you'd like. He really didn't know why he asked a total stranger to follow them, but he did. Life stays interisting that way he guessed as he turned and stepped inth the Rattlesnake. It reminded him of so many local taverns like any on several worlds he remembered. Including Jinye. The sicking crack of a neck again assulted his minds ear as he remembered killing one of his own squad on that back water world in a back water stink hole that this was resembled. He moved to the side and let his eyes adjust to the light inside, or the lack thereof. He moved toward the bar, capture in hand. |

Cole's fought back tears of joy. He had been stranded in this crazy town all alone for too long. Faigning a cough to wipe his eyes he looked around to see if any had noticed his emotion and didn't see any reaction. Good they either didn't notice or were noble enough to ignore it for his sake. Going back in to the bar wouldn't be an issue. He had seen the same scenario play out before and when an ejected patron returned as long as his credits were good he was left alone. "My names Cole everyone. Nice to meet you." Cole followed his new friends, his saviors from this nest of eniquity, and motioned for the barman to gather drinks for the group. Cole threw the credits on the bar and faded to the backround. These people who had invited him into their ship had business here and he wasn't going to get in the way of it for fear of the invitation being recinded. |

Khei's brows furrowed at the sudden influx of pings to the server. Someone was aware of her prying and didn't seem terribly happy about it. She knew she'd have to pull back soon before the Ariel Hub would be forced to power down. She tried to narrow the search to the most recent timestamps on both video feeds and stills. She scanned through what she could find for anything that might tell them where he was, if he was worldside or not, and if in the black perhaps a clue as to the destination. She saved anything that might be of use to the second machine before pulling out and cutting the connection before the hub would shutdown and reboot with a new IP. She sighed and started sifting through what she could get. Well. Hope this'll be enough. |

The Rattlensake Ian nodded at Cole. "Consider your actions here and their results to be you interview. You can come aboard as a passenger anytime you'd like." At the bar he spoke to the barkeep, dropping a few coin next to the capture of Tobias. {b]"Lookin for this guy. So os someone else. Have you seen him or anyone lookin for him?[/b] Ian watched the man and baseed on his reaction, or lack thereof, dropped a few more coin on the bar. |

The Rattlesnake Not a head was raised as Ian as his crew entered the bar, at least none that could be seen. As the moved toward the bar the low mumble of the patrons followed them. Behind it stood a particularly tired looking bartender who as with most in his trade, seemed to be busy doing nothing. He ran a wet cloth down the bar, stopping to scrub vigorously at one spot in particular, before continuing toward Ian and throwing the cloth over one shoulder. He looked at the coins on the bar, then the capture, then back to Ian with a smile. "You're gonna need more men." The Glory The lights ceased dancing on screen as Khei's proxy connection powered down at her command. She took note of the various sources of attack, none of which seemed local, then turned her attention to what information she had managed to get away with. There were dozens of files, some stills, some clips, and all of them featuring Tobias. The most recent image of Tobias remained the same, the clip from earlier of him boarding a vessel for destinations unknown. She traced the sequence backwards, watching her target jump from point to point in a strange rewinding motion, until she arrived at the first image. Again, it was unmistakably Tobias, but this time his hands and face were covered in blood. |

Trina followed Ian closer to the bar, glancing over to their new recruit. The doctor in her was kicking up and as the young man paid for drinks and then stepped back a little ways, she moved a little closer to him. Her eyes kept moving however, watching for potential trouble. "How's the back? Those bags aren't exactly light and looked like they hit you pretty hard." Trina had, somewhat instinctively, slipped into her practiced, soothing, bedside manner. Her voice was soft and low, not wanting to draw any further attention to the young man who'd more or less been dropped at their feet unceremoniously. She studied him and put together a few pieces. "New to traveling the black and looking for work?" Granted it was a guess, but there was something about the few words she'd heard him speak and a certain naivety in his eyes. Not that she hadn't been fooled once or twice, but seeing as he would be joining them as a passenger at the very least, she didn't see the harm in striking up conversation while checking up on him. |

Cole was mortified. Everything was going at lightening speed all of a sudden. After weeks of waiting here looking for someone to find work with he gets noticed by the locals, thrown out and now a beautifull woman is talking to him. Cole wished he could melt into the floorboards. There she sat waiting on him to answer her questions. Voice please don't crack, he silently prayed. "My backs fine." his voice thankfully didn't crack."Thanks for the concern. I guess it is pretty obvious that I am not accustomed to space travel yet." He hated to openly admit this to a woman. "I was pretty sheltered by my parents growing up." That's good say both parents don't tell her you were a mommas boy. He could feel the sweat form on his brow. He smiled and continued, "I had to get out in the Black though. I love to fly. When I'm at the helm of a ship I feel like the ship and I are dancing." He laughed and wished the lovely woman would stop listening so intently. This was definently not what he was used to. Smiling at Trina he began to try that whole floorboads melt thing again. |

Michael was still intently casing the area, but broke his action to briefly look at Ian, catch up on what he’d said and show a quick smirk with a nod. He followed with a moment of reviewing their new company. If religion was truly the reason he’d seen trouble, Mike didn’t see him as being much harm. Though there was always a danger, and Becker was too burnt to throw trust at a man so quickly. He did play friendly through his doubts though, with a wave of the hand as he gave his name. “Mike.” Becker ushered Cole and Trina to walk ahead so he could keep a watchful eye from behind. Once in the bar, drinks had been ordered before Becker could politely decline. He didn’t like to drink on the job but wasn’t one for rudeness either and so gave thanks with a nod and smile. Becker then kept his eye out for… well, anything. He never did know what to expect. He overheard Cole and Trina exchange conversation before settling his attention on Ian and the barmaid.
Which meant that there was something to be heard. “I wouldn’t worry about that.” He insisted, though Becker wasn’t planning on a fight when they ran into Bal-bias. “What do you know? Where to find him?” He suggested, keen to hear the barman’s piece. |

The Rattlesnake The bartender shifted uncomfortably for a second, glancing down the bar at his patrons before looking back to Mike and leaning toward him, his voice dropping so only those closest could hear. "New face on the scene, calls himself Havoc, none too ironically either." Glancing down, he appeared to eye up the stack of creds before looking back to Ian and his crew and continuing. "Never seen or heard of him before. Chap just strolls in, buys a few drinks, then walks down the bar and puts one fella out cold." The barman nodded down at the bar at one particularly well scrubbed patch of woodwork. "Seconds later he was gone, in a hurry too, headed toward the docks by the looks of it. Feds..." the barman paused to take a deep inhale of breath though his nose before spitting on the ground beside him at the very mention of the word "... took the KO'd guy a while later, asked around but didn't get squat. Lacked the eh, proper enticement." The man looked down at the bar with a smile, from where the creds had vanished without anyone noticing, then back up to Ian. He gave the man a quick nod. "Pleasure doin' business." he said, raising is voice again as he pulled back from the pair. |

You sure musta got yerself in a heap o' trouble, pal. Khei had made the comment after seeing the blood. Something bothered her about the whole thing but she shrugged it off as paranoia. Ian and Mike knew the guy so she was confident that there was a simple explaination not worth worrying about. Prolly a bar fight. She noded to herself as she saved the files and sent them all to Ian with a note... "This' all I could get. Someone got mighty upset about me poking about the server. Hub had to power down before the security on it crashed. " |

As Mike ushered she and Cole ahead of him, Trina gave Mike a passing smile well aware of what it was the man was doing. Her attention shifted back to Cole and she gave the young man a smile. Inwardly, she was a little concerned at his newness to the Black. What she hadn't figured on was just how new he was. "A pilot... you don't say. We might be able to make use of that skill." Her eyes moved off of Cole to Ian, who had been serving as captain, cook and pilot, among other things. In her opinion, he was doing too much, but then being so short on crew, none of them really had much they could do about it. Trina didn't think Ian was sleeping much, not that she hadn't caught him catnapping in the pilots chair once or twice, but that was hardly enough to keep going. She knew that all too well. Her attention returned to Cole. "I'm Trina, by the way. Ship's doctor." She lowered her voice when giving her job aboard the ship. Often, when people found out, she was pegged as the weakest link and she wasn't about to give anyone in the bar any ideas that she was armed as well. "Need any help with those things? I've got a spare hand." |
