"What about you, anything you need to get to or are you clear to help out?"

Trina was puzzling over the detective comment when the question came. "We haven't made it to pick up the extra medical supplies, but there's a shop just over there." Pointing out the shop she then glanced back to Khei again. She didn't want to hold everyone up and it was beginning to look like the food supplies she'd wanted to get would have to wait.

"I could run over there and pick them up real quick. I'd hate to hold things up..."

She wasn't all that worried about going off on her own. It was leaving others to go somewhere on their own that bothered her. Not that people needed a babysitter, but Trina had always felt protective of people. She supposed it was just in her nature as a doctor.

"I'll come with." A look went to Dugan in search of agreement, or captain's permission to be more accurate. "With everything out the way we can get to the real business." That, and the fact there was no pressing need to rush meant Ian would not object. Becker held out a hand for Trina to lead the way, after all, it was her business.

As they made their way, Mike was looking around, taking in streets he'd witnessed every few years or so. "You ever been on Eavesdown before?"

(OOC: I think Dugan will be back any day now. Once he is, I figure we can zip ahead a few minutes and into the four of us discussing matters.)

"You ever been on Eavesdown before?"
Trina was at first a little hesitant to leave, even with Ian now outside the store. She did need to get the medical supplies though and she knew it wouldn't take very long. And if they really were going to be hunting for the man named Tobias, the less time she took at the store, the more time they would have to search.

At Mike's gesture, Trina glanced once to Ian and gave him a look that indicated she wouldn't take long. She then turned her attention to the store that was near the Broken Wing and Mike's question. An odd, reminicent smile came over her face.

"I've been to Eavesdown several times. Many of the ships I've worked on made stops here at some point or another." She gave a sidelong glance to Mike. "You're kind to come with me. Or am I just getting the security treatment?"

She was half serious and half teasing. Mostly she was just chatting, but it helped to know people she worked with. It often helped easing them if they ever ended up under her care. Either way, she still had a smile on her lips, and she realized she was smiling a lot more lately.

Michael took in breath as he looked ahead, before he finally turned to Trina and settled on his response. "Maybe I just can't tear myself away from you." The right quarter of his lips raised to accompany the remark. It was for the most part a joke, though Becker was quickly able to generate concern about being taken seriously and making present company uncomfortable. He promptly looked back ahead and cleared his throat, his part smile still propped up. "I didn't see any reason why you should be left on your lonesome."

Becker soon set sight on the shop Trina was surely heading for, a small amount of embarrassment was to approach if he was wrong. He reached ahead and pulled the door open before holding it for you. "M'lady." He offered in a mock voice that replicated someone of nobility.

"Maybe I just can't tear myself away from you."

Trina's face bore a look of sudden surprise as she looked at Mike, trying to determine if he was serious or joking with her again. Before, he'd given himself away. Now, she wasn't certain, especially with his cough and looking away. She was so busy trying to figure it out that she completely failed to notice the warmth blooming in her cheeks indicating she was subtly blushing at the comment.

She was speechless, and made even more so by his gallantry of opening the door for her. Giving him a look of curiosity and a shy smile, she stepped inside ahead of him. Briefly, she tried to recall the last time she'd actually been given the 'lady' treatment. She had to go way back, all the way to her father. That alone had her giving Mike a second look. The faculty of speech reasserted itself. "Thank you."

There was a sudden feeling of awkwardness, but not an uncomfortable feeling. The shy smile lifted a little and she was still unaware of the faint color in her cheeks. Slowly, she turned towards the counter and pulled out her cortex link with her list of needed supplies.

On a glance to the doctor, Becker saw the colour in her cheeks and assumed his words had thrown her. As Trina passed him and entered the shop, he saw the short moment out of her eyeline as an opportunity to punish himself for his earlier remark. Promptly, and with conviction, he flicked himself on the forehead. This was followed by a shaking of his head as he tailed Trina into the shop.

He held back, deciding she should conduct her business while Mike positioned himself near the entrance. Previous remarks had got him to thinking about Trina in a certain way, and Mike took a moment looking at her from across the room. Several thoughts ran through his mind, the last being that he must be kidding himself. He folded his arms, then unfolded them and tucked his thumbs into his trouser pockets. In moments he was stepping forward, feeling a need for conversation.

"You know Trina's an interesting name. Anything behind that?" Mike was unable to figure what it was short for, taking it as an interesting and original label.

Trina had glanced back, as subtly as she could, and caught Mike fidgeting. She was looking over the list on her cortex and glancing up at the shelves for the items she needed. When Mike moved beside her and asked about her name, her smile got a little bigger. "It's actually short for Katrina. My mother used to call me Trina but most often she called me Kat."

Not many asked about her name. Most simply accepted it, chalking it up to originality on her parents part. Finding the first few items on her list, she picked them up and slowly moved along the counter so Mike could keep up. Usually when her mother came into conversation, she felt a little pain grip her chest. It was there, but oddly not as sharp as it had been other times.

"Kat is a more popular nickname than Trina, though and Trina is what she would call me in those quiet, personal moments. I suppose I use it more to remember her." Looking over at Mike, pausing in her shopping, she gave him a smile. One that was intended to let him know that she was okay with talking about her mother, at least with him. Inwardly, she was a little surprised at her comfort level.

Michael held his spot for a moment and smiled warmly. "That's nice." The tribute to her mother was a good thing, but it held more weight with him when he considered that he didn't have a parent to pay such respect to.

After a quick moment of thought, he took up a slow walk that trailed her path. "An interesting take on Katrina. It's like calling me -chael." His attempt at applying the same treatment was drawn out disjointed, and followed by two more attempts. "-hael. No -chael." He was caught up in working out the idea for short time, before shaking it off. "Well. It don't work."

"Good fit for you though." He wanted to make sure she understood it as a compliment rather than just a general statement. "Well, I like it." He found himself throwing looks her way, trying to see if his words had landed.

Finding a couple more of the items from her list, Trina shuffled the things she already had in hand to make room for the additions. Hearing Mike attempt the shortening of his name in a manner like hers got her to grinning and then chuckling softly. Looking over at him, she grinned. "I don't suppose it works that way for everyone. Mike works though, and it fits you."

As she started to move a little further along the counter, Mike's next words caused a warmth in her cheeks. This time she noticed it and her smile became shy. As she thought about it, she bit her lip a little and then glanced back and caught Mike looking at her. The warmth in her cheeks deepened and a soft, short laugh escaped her. "Thanks. I like it too."

Trina found herself shifting her weight a little, her hands again shifting the items in her hands. The shyness was starting to take over and she looked to the things in her hands, smile still in place as a few strands of her hair fell forward against her cheek. He'd gotten her speechless again, though she was pretty sure the blush on her cheeks and the shy behavior were probably a dead give away.

Yep, that landed. Mike was holding back an almost smug smile in response to Trina's visual reaction. Instinct told him it was a positive reaction, but there was plenty of time to overthink and second guess himself later. He managed to hold a subdued smile on his face and showed some reservedness himself as his eyes took to looking at items on shelves that he didn't recognise, and the rather fetching carpet at his feet.

When Becker settled his gaze back on Trina, he took notice of the growing number of items in her hands. He stepped forward and held out his own. "Want me to hold a few things?"

"We should probably zip back to Ian and Khei soon." He wished he had more time to pursue certain things, but there were pressing issues on the horizon.

Trina had, in the brief silence, tried to turn her attention back to the list of things she needed. She was reaching for the last of the items, extra gauze, when Mike offered to hold some of the things in her hands. He was closer than he'd been thus far and she had to look up a little more to meet his gaze. When he mentioned getting back to the others, she smiled and nodded.

"Yes, you're right," she managed as he took a few of the things from her hands. "I've got all I needed. Just need to pay for it."

Breaking the eye contact, Trina looked around the shop for the desk to pay for her things. When she spotted it, she inclined her head towards it so Mike knew where she was heading. Once there, she laid the items in her hands on the counter and looked for either the shop owner or a clerk. "Excuse me? Hello?"

Becker followed up and slid his collection of items from his grasp to the counter, a cautious hand then went atop them to make sure they didn't fly away and was removed when they were secure. A quick look went to Trina, baring a smile and raised eyebrows, before he kept turning and also sought out a shop keeper with his sight. Maybe his height would aid him.

((OOC)Back now. Things are better but not the best)

Ian watched as Trina and Mike moved off. He was glad the big man had offered to go, otherwise he'd have had to tell him to.

Nothing concrete, just a feeling he had to make sure everybody was protected as much as they could be. Not that Trina couldn'r shoot, Ian had noticed those taletell calicsus on her trigger finger when he shook hands with her the first time.

You didn't just get those from doing surgery.

Still, it was better safe than sorry.

He turned to Khei.

"I guess you're with me.

First they dropped off the supplies at the ship and then Ian waited until Mike and Trina were back to send people out in groups of two. He didn't want anyone to go out alone.

After wrapping up the purchase Michael had expected to find Ian and Khei back at the shop they'd been left at, but his next instinct being their return to the ship came good. He soon returned, with Trina in tow and handed the reigns to Dugan.

"I held out on the info. You wanna fill the girls in?" As the opportunity to explain things was offered, Becker helped Trina stow some items in the cargo bay. She could get them up to the med bay at a later time.

The clerk was happy to take the Credit notes from Khei, smiling the whole time, and bundled up the pieces she'd picked out from the shelves into a sturdy cardboard box. Pleasantries were exchanged and then, convinced the customer had been served, he disappeared promptly into the back room, already working on getting his shirt off.

Khei was content to grab her box and trot outside where she finally noticed Trina had disappeared, replaced by Ian. She had enough sense to gather that the men had concluded their business for the moment and that Trina had likely grown board waiting on Khei and had hurried off to get the med supplies.

She smiled at Ian with a nod, following him back to the ship where she quickly dropped off the box, tucking it under her bunk for the time being before rejoining the group.

So.. You guys ain't all smiles and I dun' see any new faces. Safe to assume things're gettin' interestin'?

(OOC just moving you guys back to the group and Grav can take it from there. Also, no price, since Lucian is covering expenses.)

The young lady at the front counter welcomed the pair with a smile, eyeing them as they chattered away, grabbing the odds and ends they needed from the shelves. She gave a quiet hello, all the while smiling, and rang up the bill for the gear. Minutes later, Trina and Mike were back on their way, walking out onto the main street just in time to see Khei and Ian walking their way.

Trina had followed Mike, first to the parts shop where they'd left Ian and Khei and then back to the ship. When they didn't find their crew mates at the other shop, Trina, out of habit, got a little concerned. However, upon finding both safely at the ship, the concern lifted. She and Mike stored her supplies and then joined the other two.

As Mike asked Ian about filling 'the girls' in, Trina took up an easy stance, her hands slipping into her jacket pockets. Her mind was going over so many possibilities as to what playing detective might mean, but she held her questions to see if they would be answered when Ian filled them in on the situation. Unsure of how much help she would be able to give, Trina was at least resolved to do what she could.

Ian had been quiet on the trip back to the ship. He acknowledged Khei's question with a nod and a knowing smile.

He nodded again at Mike's question and moved into the Crew's Galley.

"Drinks are on Lucien. Feel free."

He opened the Cold Unit and pulled out a bottle Sasperilla.

He sat down, took a drink, sighed in sugar contintment and got down to business.

"Our wayward crew ran into some trouble and is hiding out. He may or maynot be injuried, but was last seen somewhere around the Docks. We'll go out and have a look see and try to find him. He uses the name Tobias."

He looked at his too small crew.

"Trina, you're with Mike. Khei, with me. We'll go north and west. Mike, you and Trina go North and East. Meet back by ..."

He looked at his time peice, an old pocket watch that you still had to wind. He had set it to local time just before landing.

"...three hours. We'll have lunch here them head back out til supper."

He paused again.

"Our cover will be that we are looking for this Tobias for our customer. That way, no matter how someone feels out him, they should help us find him. .... Thought?"

He looked around the room at the faces of the three present.

A keen observer would have seen a brief one sided lip raise from Michael as Dugan paired him with Trina. That was all he would reveal on the matter.

The plan sounded solid, it was was a simple search that would hopeful turn fruitful. Becker found some suggestions to offer though. "I think we should drop a name. Bal hears someone's looking for him, he's gonna turn and go the other way. He hears Ian Dugan's looking for him..." He let it hang, comfortable that people could work out the rest. "Hell, maybe he'll come and find us." He grinned at the idea of luck being so on their side. "Maybe not Dugan though. What was that alias you used once?" He searched for it in his head, speaking slowly when he recalled it, "Gil Grissom of The Giglamesh? That's sure to ring a bell ain't it? And keep us protected."

He looked to Dugan for his thoughts, but also let his sight fall on Khei and Trina, seeing if they had something to contribute.
