Jenna smiled, well kinda, at Remy, she spoke, and he found it strange that such a young person could have such a old head on her, she was the one who had started the conversation, and made him feel reassured, it was strange, he the one who was meant to be able to reassure people, was being reassured by someone much younger than him. Maybe karma had brought them together.

Remy walked to the Bridge, with Jenna following him, there they found Sonya, "working her magic" or so it seemed. Remy saw the Bridge console, and slowly realized what was going on.

Jones' voice came over the intercom, thats when they saw it. Another ship, passing them by. Remy wondered what they were going to do, it was obvious they had to flag it down, but in their predicament was it the best idea? It seemed Sonya had the same idea as him, as she talked. Val came in and agreed.

"We absolutely dead in the black? Is there no way to get to the nearest planet on the air we have?" asked Remy honestly.

He had been in the black before, but never had experienced this, he had rarely gone into the bridge on his last ship, let alone knew how anything worked, or what anything meant.

Despite not being able to locate any during his search, Joseph's eye was caught at that moment by something on the console before him. The schematics of the ship were laid out on a dull green screen. Underneath the ship, seemingly built in below their feet, was a small chamber labelled 'Shuttle'. It must have been hidden, to avoid detection during their search.

Joseph opened his mouth, about to suggest either a great idea, or one that would guarantee their deaths, maybe even both, but instead his focus was drawn to one of the dozen screens which adorned the console. Most of it was gibberish, random numbers and letter, intersecting lines and waves, but the fellow knew a map when he saw a map, there was just something.....mapish about it.

"There." he said aloud after a few moments of standing there silently with his jaw hanging open. "Two birds are better than one." he quickly added, brandishing a warm smile as he looked around briefly to the folks, before turning back to the screen. Another, smaller ship, looked to be hidden away somewhere below them. Could be their ticket home, if there was anywhere worth going.

He leaned back from the console and looked to Remy, nodding at the man happily. "Yeah, what he said."

They want her to tell them?

"Well," she brushed a hand through her hair. "not so sure we can limp back to Verbena or not." Ideas of just how to calculate the air, maybe the ship diagnostic was wrong. They sure went from 90 to 85 right fast. Tanks? Reserves.

Then Val pointed, the ship's schematic. She turned to the screens, a quick check of Vanguard on the scanner then she called it up. "Look at that." Sonya struggled to see just how... "Looks like a hatch in the cargo... floor?" She didn't remember anything like that.

"So, A fueled up shuttle should... get us to Verbena, if it's not depleted. And it's got a solvent air supply. or maybe a fuel transfer, or " or or, "or there's a replacement coil sitting on the pilots seat. heh."

"Someone wanna go look for the hatch, see if it's there, under the crates maybe? Val?"

Sonya tried to stay calm, option. Think of options.
"Observe, analyze, and act.""Yep, yep." she said.

"And don't open it up, we might need to figure the best way... to uh, use the air." really, did that make sense. Maybe, but discouraged anyone running off on their own. But then no one seemed to show any sense of flying, much less any experience with a ship.

"And the ship's stores." She called up a picture of the burned out coil. "We need one of those. Remy?" She asked the other man.

Sonya Gulliver turned around to face those on the bridge. 'Did I sound like I'm giving order? should I be?'
"Yes."
"No."

She watched Vanguard fly away on the scanner. And their might not even be a shuttle in the bay.

"rut."

Joseph nodded and silently departed to investigate where the shuttle was and what condition it was in.

Sonya seemed to be the one to be taking control, whether this was because she was up to the task, or the one who was in the pilots chair was up to debate, but honestly, Remy wasn't ever going to be a help, he knew next to nothing at ships or what makes them tick.

Sonya was leading the charge, coming up with ideas, and back up ideas. Remy watched as she took control, she seemed slightly unnerved by it all, but held her feelings back well, but with his training, Remy knew differently.

Sonya showed him a picture, Remy took out his PDA, zipped the picture over his his and nodded

"I'll look for it" he said simply. Remy looked over at Jenna "Think I may need your help getting into some boxes and crates" he stated simply, hoping she got the message

Remy started walking out of the bridge and into the main hatch of the ship, he started to looked through open boxes, looking for a spare coil

Saren didn't know how to feel about the ship that was passing them. Were they the ones chasing after them or were they just passing by...? She heard someone say it was called 'The Vanguard', that's not the kind of name you'd have for an Alliance ship. Saren calmed herself down once she had realised the ship was not going attack, and she watched them float by.

There was then talk about a shuttle being hidden in the ship, and she watched Joesph depart the bridge and head towards the the shuttle's direction.

"What do we do if the shuttle doesn't work?" She asked, directing it towards Sonya. Saren didn't want to be stuck out in the 'verse, and started to get agitated again.

"Can we call out to the other ship and see if they can help? They don't look like no Alliance ship..." Her agitation could now be heard in her voice, "I don't want to be stuck out here, and I'm guessing you don't want that either, so isn't calling them a better option?" Her eyes darting back and forth between the crew still left in the bridge.
What I did not know has cost you dear, for there is no cure for death..

In the cargo bay, Joseph only had to push aside one of the large crates, filled with vials of the odd liquid, to find an airlock that lead down to the shuttle. The small console against the airlock entrance gave off positive, if not basic, readings - high air capacity, fuel was full, shuttle was spaceworthy.

As the crew on the bridge discussed their plan of action, the great ship outside identified as the Vanguard continued on its path, slowly gaining speed and disappearing from view. If they were going to hail its crew, they had to do it fast!

Jenna nodded her head and followed Remy off the bridge. She began to very carefully pick the locks on several of the other boxes and open the tops so Remy could have a look inside.

“There has to be more than just this stuff in here.” She called out to Remy. “Any idea what this stuff is?”She held up another one of the vials and then gently placed it back in the crate.

As she kept working on the locks she watched as Joseph moved one of the crates and found the hatch to the shuttle.

Without getting in the way she looked down into the hatch. She really couldn’t tell if everything was alright so she went back to opening the boxes.

Sonya couldn't decide, the moment was coming, and then would it be too late.

"No, I surely don't." she said in reply to Saren. "But it won't be all that far away, can always call them..." not really she thought, if they powered up and skitted away, getting a comm beacon on just them, while they were on the drift; and not broadcasting their position to anyone that IS looking for them.

The shuttle, she tapped the comm. "Well, we got a shuttle?" Her hand hovered over the comm for ship to ship. Her other hand reached for the ship's log, a quick look at the manifest, where it had been, where it was 'supposed' to be going.

A little training kicked in, and instead of holding her breath at such a tense moment she took a long slow breath without realizing it. Gulliver's hands then stopped. The Vanguard's engines were powering up to run their pulse engines.

'seconds' 'hit the comm, call Vanguard.'
'wait, wait... just wait.'
Sonya Gulliver shook her head to shut the voices down, caught frozen as to which way to force the coin down. Heads or tails. Decide gorramit, don't hope for luck.

Jenna walked with him and started to open up boxes and crates. It was good that they had someone like her along with them, once again, Karma seemed to be on their side. Most of the crates had those vials in them, and Jenna noted it, and asked him about it

"No idea, Mei Mei, but we can figure that out later, now we just need to find the coil"

Remy kept on checking, going through everything as quickly yet thoroughly as possible. Remy heard Sonya over the ships comm. Remy couldn't even begin to imagine the stress the lady would be under. It seemed that she was the one who was in control of the ship, a captain, for lack of a better word. It said something about her character though, that on a ship full of males, she was the one that they all looked to, to lead them

Remy carried on looking, hoping to find something.

During the entire exchange, Cyrus had stayed behind Saren, listening to the conversation and watching the different folk come and go from the Bridge. He had so many thoughts, opinions, questions - but he stayed silent. For now, he was a spectator, waiting until he could weigh in with some certainty.
Sonya

The manifest was clean, cleared almost specifically for her eyes. It showed Flint Corso as the Captain and sole operator, but nothing more. It had recently been deep in the Black, but the records hadn't logged stops at any terminals or planets until it arrived at the Baroness. A fool could tell that the log had been tampered with and wasn't showing the truth of things. There was a small personal log, however, of a text-based transcript between the ship and an unknown server. It was locked.

Remy kept on checking, going through everything as quickly yet thoroughly as possible.
In the Cargo bay Remy an Jenna hastily worked their way through the crates. The bay was just about full, the floor nearly entirely covered by the crates. 50 or more of them, they'd assume with a quick glance. And inside every single one of them - vials.

They managed to find some personal belongings - clothes and the like which were likely owned by the late Captain Corso - but otherwise nothing of use. No spare parts, no money; nothing but vials. Hundreds of them.

As Jenna continued opening the crates she had an idea. She stopped and looked at Remy.

“What if we’re looking in the wrong place?” Jenna went and stood next to the hatch leading to shuttle.

“Maybe we should take a look in the shuttle. I mean if you were traveling somewhere in a shuttle and something went wrong it would make sense to have extra parts with you.

Jenna looked into the hatch. I mean it wouldn’t hurt to check…Right?

Joseph silently made his way down the length of the ship and into the cargo bag. He paused at the port side wall and glanced from side to side, eyes dropping to his feet. Damnit, it should be right here. He shook his head and took a step back, leaning his head back and looking to the aging ceiling overhead before drawing in a long, slow breath. Glancing over his shoulder, he spun on the spot and headed toward the centre of the bay.

Now, if you were a disreputable chap such as Corso, and wanted to leave yourself an un-noticed back door out of any hot water you might find yourself in, where would you hide it? Why, in plain sight of course. Easy to access, last place you'd think to look, right in front of you. Joseph grinned and dropped to one knee, reaching down to floor and running his hand along the dirt incrusted plating. He shuffled along a moment before his fingers fell into a small gap, running horizontally away from him in either direction.

He followed the groove along the floor until it ran under a crate. Nice, at least now he knew Corso wasn't keen on heavy lifting, a man after his own heart. Joseph rose to his feet once more and made his way to the other side of the crate, giving it a firm push and being rewarded with a satisfying click as it rose out of its resting position and onto the rails. Pushing it further aside revealed a small hatch built into the cargo bay floor. Jackpot.

Joseph leaned down once more, fingers moving rapidly across the keypad as the Comm unit behind him burst into life, Sonya with some questions regarding the would be escape vessel. He ignored it and remained focused on the readout before him. Air was good, fuel was good and the hatch seemed to be securely sealed. Again he smiled, this time reaching for the hatch lever and pulling it open with a long, loud hiss. Peering inside, he made a face turned away as the odor of stale air rose out. "Huh, cosy." he muttered to himself.

Rising to his feet with a muted grunt, he turned toward the Comms and panel and made his way over. Clicking its activation key, he rolled his neck around in a circle and spoke. "Indeedin' we do. Small, but should do the job. We got anywhere worth going?" He finished speaking and rolling within a moment of each other, and just stood against the cargo bay entrance hatch, resting, waiting.

On the bridge, the Vanguard continued on its path, nearly out of visual range. Saren was surprised as Sonya pushed down the button to broadcast her voice across the ship, coming to a halt before she could say anything, and promptly toppling from the pilot's seat onto the cold, metal floor.

She was out cold with no indication as to why.

Saren watched as The Vanguard passed them by. In the corner of her eye, she could see Sonya going through what seemed to be the ship's log, maybe trying to find out more about the ship, maybe a few more hidden shuttles. Sonya moved to talk over the comms, Maybe she found something else Saren thought to herself, and then just seconds later Sonya had stopped and fell onto the floor.

"SONYA?!" Saren cried as she moved quickly to her limp body. She started to shake Sonya awake, hoping she had only fainted. "Sonya wake up, we need you!" She said worriedly. When Saren realised Sonya was not going to wake up, she jumped up off the floor and called out to anyone listening to the comms. "Uhh...guys. I need some help up here", she said hastly "Sonya went down and it doesn't look like she's getting up anytime soon. Please, Cyrus, she needs your help!"

Once Saren had called out, she jumped back down to Sonya and laid her out flat, awaiting for Cyrus to come and save her.

Cyrus came running into the room, as he had been loitering in the main hall, and quickly started to see the Sonya. His face was a wrinkled mess of confusion as he struggled to find the cause.

"We gotta get moving. What's it gon' be?" The question was to Saren as no one else was nearby to answer.

Joseph waited quietly at the Comms panel, awaiting a reply which seemed to take an eternity. Reaching out, he brought his arms together and interlocked his fingers, then in a sudden shift in balance, clicked his fingers and sockets together all at once. He finished with a few stretches of his neck, looked to the panel with an unimpressed stare, and began making his way toward the rest of the ship via the nearest exit.

If Corso had been wry enough to hide away an entire shuttle, something told Joseph the Captain wouldn't have simply stopped there. Smugglers, hiding things and bar fights, it was kind of their thing. Just as he was about to leave, the Comms panel on the other side of the bay crackled to life, the booming echoes of the transmission reaching him a few seconds later.

"Uhh…guys. I need some help up here" - the message began, Joseph already turning away at the first pause, the panic in the woman's voice immediately clear. Another trip to the bridge was in order, perhaps this time any suggested courses of action may require a raised voice.

He sighed into his coat sleeve as he marched intently up toward the bridge, missing the rest of the message as it faded into a blur of overlapping echoes, more good news no doubt. Joseph found himself grinding his teeth as he moved, and swallowed hard to put a stop to it.

It was this gorram ship, nothing but headache after problem after death trap. What with the air now slowly running out and their still drifting status, it wasn't as if the Red Dawn had swooped to their aid since the initial escape. Time for a change perhaps.

Jenna looked over at Remy’s PDA and back at the hatch. She had some idea of what she was looking for so now it was time to get moving.

If I’m not back in an hour send out a search party. She smiled and ducked down into the hatch.

It was dark. The best she could do was stop and wait until her eyes got use to the darkness and let the light from the hold hopefully brighten things up a bit.

Okay…could something go right just once? She asked no one in particular. I just don’t fancy the idea of suffocating out here and I’m pretty sure that no one else here wants that to happen either.

Jenna started looking around. Rummaging through anything and everything hopping that she could find something.

The shuttle was quite large, more than half the ships full length and quite wide. It was split into three sections - a small room she dropped down to, a forward room with the main controls, and an after room that, in the dim light, seemed to have some 'living space'. Jenna was able to quite quickly find the main lights and the shuttle interior lit up. The main section she had dropped down into had a retractable ladder, which was currently up, but was otherwise a bare, miniature cargo bay.
