Sonya kept reading, looking over the nav and diagnostics. She unbuckled and turned around in the chair. Then stood.

"We blew a coil in the engine, which ain't a big deal seeing how we're major low on fuel anyway."

"Attention, Engine restart required. Remaining Oxygen levels are at 90 percent."

Sonya twinched her head, as if that was on cue. "On the other hand, we're well hid for the moment, got a good jump with a hard burn that'll be hard to track. So, yeah." She ran a hand through her hair. "Check the crates yeah, I'd hate to think I run outa air with my last snack being a can of pink proto-paste. Maybe there's some ready to eat fillet and some frozen oysters or something." Gulliver forced a smile at the small woman.

"Someone can listen in on the comms, I'm going to look at the engine. If anyone knows squat one or two about such things.... Please." She moved to Remy and took her bag.

"Thanks." She smiled as she looked over his features up close. "Don't panic, ninety percent, that's several hours on a ship this size." Or she figured.

Jenna looked at Sonya and then at Remy. Rolling her eyes she went back to the hold.

One day little mouse your curiosity is going to get the better of you. She thought as she slipped down the stairs.

She stopped at the first crate and looked at the lock. She then pulled out the set of lockpicks that had been hiding in her pocket.

Okay she mumbled to herself. Just think about the lock take your mind off the fact that we only have 90 percent of our air left.

Nothing is going to go wrong. Just keep telling yourself that everything is going to be alright.

After several moments Jenna was able to pock the lock. It made a clicking sound as the lock fell to the ground. Inside the crate were dozens of auto injectors containing a vial of red liquid. The vials each read, TD-112 and had a small Blue Sun symbol on it.

Saren was amongst the crowd in the bridge physically, but mentally she was in another world. She wasn't paying attention to what they were all talking about. Everyone's voices became a distant mumble, and Saren's thoughts were the only things filling her ears.

She wasn't thinking anything in particular, her thoughts were just jumping around, latching onto anything she had some kind of connection with. She thought about her family, back when everything had been peaceful in her life. She thought of their faces and the sound of their voices. She then jumped to the day when Alexis had been killed, when she had first met Cyrus. She thought about all the years between now and then that their paths had crossed. She thought about the danger Cyrus had been in with the Feds, him being a Browncoat and all, and started to wonder now, yet again, what kind of touble he was in now.

Saren then started to think about the new folks she'd been thrown together with. What were their stories, and how had they come to know Cyrus? She hoped it wasn't the same way she had. She'd never wish what had happened to her on her worst enemy.

Saren was brought back to the group when an alert was sounded throughout the ship.

Cyrus was looking for people to scour the ship with him, and she could see him keeping his eyes on the male pilot, the name Val had been tossed around so she assumed that was his name.

"I'm not keen on looking everywhere, but I don't mind checking out the rooms." Saren spoke, not looking for permission.

As people were looking as though they knew what they were going to do, Saren started to make her way to the hatches they had all passed on the way to the bridge, to claim a room for her to finally get some shut eye in.

A voice came over the PA system, seemed that Oxygen levels were at 90%, it was a lot, but if the next planet wasn't for a while away, they would be a problem. Remy had been on a ship before, but wasn't on it for that long, people on that boat knew what they were doing, but he didn't really know what peoples skills on this boat were.

Jones seemed to know what he what was what when it came to being on the run by the sounds of it. Remy wasn't going to let his mind cloud as to what kind of background these people were from, for the moment, they were all in this together, and suspecting people wasn't gonna help them in the short term.

The little one talked, and Remy looked at her, Sonya responded and seemed to be taking control, which was good to see, in fact, Jones, Val and Sonya seemed to know what they were doing. Remy was glad to be in such company.

It seemed Saren and Jones were going to search the ship, well Saren if only to find somewhere to lay down.

"Personally, I think we need to get to a rock as far away from here as possible, but somewhere that we can reach with the air supply we have, we need to formulate a plan of some kind" he stated simply "On the way there, we check out the boat, see what we need if any to supply the boat with, maybe give it a lick of paint to try and disguise it or something" he stated simply

Remy nodded at Val and Sonya as he departed, deciding to go find the little one and check in on her. He found her, at one of the crates, opened.

"Looks like we have a little locksmith on our hands" he said simply, smiling.

Remy picked up one of the vials, and looked at it. TD-112 It meant nothing to him, but then again, why would it?

With the young one down in the cargo bay doing some investigation, Saren heading off to check out some of the rooms, Cyrus and Joseph exchanged a few words and then headed off. The old man figured the others were capable of getting the engine booted up, so he would spend his time searching the rest of the ship. No point getting half way through a journey and finding something unpleasant hidden away.

"Right. I'll check this side, you take the opposite. Holler if you find something... unpleasant."
Cyrus armed himself with the revolver, Joseph offering a quiet 'Aye' and preparing his own handgun. The pair went slowly, checking through the main sections of the ship, from the bunks to the engine section, checking their corners and keeping an eye out for anything suspicious.

Jenna wandered through the hold opening several more crates and looking inside. She turned around slightly when she heard Remy come back.

She shrugged her shoulders “I guess we all have our hidden talents. “ She sighed and went back to working on another lock.

“You seem to be the only person who is remotely interested in what I’m doing or care that I’m even here so why don’t we be straight up with each other and start from the beginning.”

Jenna put the lockpicks back in her pocket and turned to face Remy. She offered him her hand with the intention of shaking his.

“ Hi my name is Jenna. My friends call me Mouse on account of the fact that I fit in most small spaces. I did have every intention of sneaking aboard this ship and hopping that you were going anyplace other than staying on that station.”

She looked down at her feet and took a deep breath. “Yes I am a thief; no I won’t steal from you or anyone else on this ship. I only steal from people who have too much and can afford to lose a little and right now that would be no one around here.”

“So now that I’ve got all of that off my chest how about you?”

Sonya went to her bag as the others talked and left the bridge. She changed out of the silky blouse and flight jacket and into a workout top. It was the best option for the engine room as she had no coveralls. She zipped up to keep any little ends from beinng able to get caught.

Then headed down and aft, a look at those snoopy, looking or thieve. She tried to do a caclulation on exactly how much air they had. Really though, there were too many variable, size of the ship, reserves, algae tanks operational. But without power...

In the engine room she gave it a speedy going over, looked for a diagnostic panel, which hopefully would have some sort of details ships schematic, maintenance and repair manual. Gulliver tried to stay positive as she stripped out of the warm up and into a pair of overalls that tightened up fairly well around her. She figured replacing a coil wasn't too hard. There was really just one difficulty.

They'd need one to put in as the replacement.

The engine room console revealed to Sonya exactly where the damaged turbine coil was and what the part number was needed for replacement. Suddenly an automated female voiced chimed in over the intercoms. "Warning, Proximity Alert!"

Remys thoughts on the vial were interrupted by the little one, she told him her story, he listened intently, and given the amount of honesty she had afforded him, he decided that even though she was a little one, he decided to treat her like an adult, and give her the same courtesy. Remy was a little concerned that such a young one was a thief, but at the end of the day, it seemed like his life was going in a totally different direction to what it should have been, and he had to go with the flow, and roll with the punches.

Remy put the vial back, folded his arms, and leant against the wall. Looking at her he smiled.

"I was involved in a misunderstanding in a bar, the two gentlemen got involved and helped me out, it involved a bottle to someones head. Me, the guys and Sonya, the pilot, were taken to the cells. There we found out that the bottled man had died, and we were offered a chance to escape, we took it, we found the other lady in the cells, she knows one of the gentlemen, and well, we escaped, and found you, and here we are"

Remy stood up properly

"I am a good man, who was caught up in an unfortunate circumstances, and the others, whilst I cannot vouch for their personalities, have helped me, so I trust them"

Remy moved closer to her

"And for some reason, I trust you" he stated simply, trying to make her feel better after what he had just said

An alarm and voice came over the PAs, he looked at Jenna

"Lets get back to the Bridge" he said simply

"easy peazy." ha. Replacing something even with instructions would not be easy. She started looking through the stores for a replacement.

Then the warning.

Gulliver sprinted back to the bridge, passing anyone not using the same hurried speed. She promptly secured her self to the pilot's seat. Sonya looked quite different with old ill fitting worker's jumpsuit, her hair now tied back. Her pilot's glasses retrieved from their protective case which was in her bag.

"hoo boy." She looked through the passive scanner, studied what they might be able to do, flying wise. Would the thrusters work? Did they have any primary power systems working. Without pulse though, they were as good as dead on the drift though.

"Options. Options." She said it one more time, to make it clear she was talking to anyone on the bridge. "Options."

Sonya was able to pick up on radar that a large sized ship was heading her way. She had only a few moments before it would come into view. The Bridge Console revealed the following readout:

Primary Power: Deactivated
Reserve Power: Operational
Pulse Drive Engine: Offline
Oxygen Remaining: 85%
Fuel Status: Low

A slight smile crossed Jenna’s face. I guess we need to start trusting each other at some point. I’m not too sure why you thought you couldn’t tell me what happened. I think I’m done freaking out for now.

Jenna looked at Remy. “A Proximity Alert? What the heck are we getting too close to?”
She wondered as she followed Remy back to the bridge just in time to see the bridge console light up.

“Oh” She said matter- of- factly as she started to shake again. “Maybe I’m not quite done freaking out yet.” She whispered quietly.

Down in the main living section of the ship, Cyrus stopped and tilted his head slightly as he heard the announcement over the ships comms. He turned to Joseph, across the hall, and shrugged. When did getting a quiet drink become such a drama? He took a few quick paces across the hallway towards a console on the wall, keying the broadcast button. He didn't bother being direct, letting his voice flow throughout the entire ship - might as well make this a public discussion.

"Lady, what's going on up there? Is it the Feds coming down on us?"

In the cabin, as Cyrus' voice echoed throughout the ship, a hulking mass came into view outside the ship. It looked like a civilian ship, though even from this distance the thing was unmistakeably armed. No ident signature came across the Red Dawns feeds and Sonya couldn't tell just yet whether or not it was headed towards them, or just passing by. It seemed suspicious that they would set a course that would run them by the Red Dawn so closely.

Joseph turned to face Cyrus, returning the mans shrug with a slowly falling look on his face. Were he a simpler, perhaps more less worn man, he'd have blamed his luck, but that wasn't the way it worked. Things could go either way in any situation, good or bad, and it wasn't luck that decided the outcome, it was you. Luck was just a fine word to convey how incredible life was at choosing situations wherein they had little or no hope of escaping alive, such as now.

He took a few steps toward the fellow and said quietly. "You see any shuttles on this thing per chance?". His eyes moved from Cyrus, across the walls, and toward the end of the ship. Corso wouldn't have been so keen to run that hard for nothing, course not that it mattered much to him now. Still, there was a lot to be said for staying alive.

"Might as well head to the bridge while we're at it, see what fine go-se we're in now." He nodded at Cyrus and rolled on the balls of his feet, his steps falling in rhythm as he headed toward the control room. Proximity alert. Either the Alliance were getting better at this, or they were likely about to be robbed and possibly murdered. Living in the Black really was turning out to be all it was cracked up to be.

"Remind me friend, your name again?" he asked, looking back the hall at Cyrus with a cold smile on his face.

Saren had found one of the rooms to her liking, putting her satchel ontop of the bottom bunk. I could get used to this she thought to herself. She was about to unpack her things and try to get some sleep when suddenly there was a call overthe comms.

Ta ma duh!! Whats a girl gotta do to get some rest around here?! She muttered to herself, picking herself off the bed and making her way out of the room and towards the bridge.

Cyrus' voiced had boomed over the comms. I hope its not the feds from the Barroness.. She worried.

Saren was able to reach the bridge in time to see what had been coming towards them..

Saren, Remy and Jenna all met up in the corridor between the bridge and the rest of the ship, moving forward to see what the fuss was about, while Joseph and Cyrus remained back searching through the ship.

On the bridge the large ship outside drew nearer - it was now clear that it was not on an intercept course, and was likely going to pass them. If they were lucky. As the hulk got even closer, the crew present on the bridge could see that it looked quite heavily armed, for a civilian looking vessel, and sprawled along the side in huge white letters was 'The Vanguard'.

Another minute later, the ship had passed them and continued on its way.

"No comms." she said, though no one had made any move to do anthing. Sonya darkened the bridge, the ship was mostly shut down they'd still have a large heat and energy emission, but if they were lucky.
'lucky? you could die out here, and here's fate ... floating by...'Sonya nodded to herself, lightly bit her lower lip.

The ship moved closer. Not a fed. Not one she'd seen or heard about. Gulliver ignored everyone. As the ship moved closer and then seemed headed by them,

"Of course, seeing how we're dead in the black, on the drift. Running out of air..."

It was obvious wasn't it. They needed to hail the ship.

"They had to have seen us, so if ... they just wanted to ..." if they just wanted to what. bother to swat a little fly?

Sonya Gulliver turned in the chair, still strapped in. "I don't know how to fix the engine, we've got no way to get close enough to get to atmo and we're losing air fast. This huhndahn bigheamuth might be the only chance."

"Or at least the best chance."

Joseph moved quickly up the remaining steps to the bridge, slowing his pace as he approached the co-pilots console. Around him various lights flashed, some re-assuringly so, most of them not. He'd never been one for ships, but was used to dealing with the simplified readouts common across the Verse. He glanced down at the panel in front of him. Power, off. Reserves, holding. Oxygen draining slow. No fuel, and now this gorram mystery ship.

Someone, somewhere must have been having a mighty fine day to make up for all this. He slowly raised his eyes from the console and looked to Sonya, nodding as she spoke. She was right, no point in drawing attention to themselves. "Maybe we should...." he began, but trailed off as he turned his attention to the approaching vessel.

The Vanguard. Now why did that particularly spine chilling name ring a bell? A large civvie ship, bustling with weapons, so they weren't exactly dealing with any tourists here. Out in the middle of nowhere. Only people out here were those looking to hide, and those that would be searching for them.

"That ship." he pointed at the slowly fading Vanguard as it moved out of view. "..is about as likely to blow us out of the sky the moment they realize we have nothing of value onboard." He stopped, letting that hang in the conversation for a moment. Asking for help was all well and good, but the further, or should that be deeper, you got into the Core, the more likely you were to be left dead and drifting, your fine pocket watch now in someone else's possession.

He sighed as he lowered himself into the second chair, looking slowly at each of the assembled crew in turn, glaring briefly at Cyrus along the way.
