"Can't say I have any at th' moment. Fer now I think it best t' get all the puzzle pieces up here 'fore I get to work puttin' this girl back t'gether. Those Feds really did a number on 'er."

Becker smiled. "You're a keen one ain't ya?" It took a few moments for something to settle in his mind. "And I'm the one sitting down on the job." He brought himself up and out of the chair, there was much in the way of work to be done. "I'll get all those other pieces up so you can make this place look shiny again."

Michael wasted little time, heading back up to the cargo deck, asking Dugan which bits and pieces belonged to the bridge then carrying them back down to Khei again as she pieced things together. It was a little impressive to Mike, how an individual could look at these scraps and parts and see what they were, picture how they linked together and know what they did. Khei was blessed with it and even Ian was at the best of times. Mike wasn't, he was reserved to knowing which chair came from which room.

Still, people had to sit didn't they?

As Michael stood on the cargo bay, evidence of a fire would begin to show itself.

Khei took to coughing and choking on the smoke, forcing her to pull her shirt up over her nose and mouth. Her quick attempt at a search for anything useful in exstinguishing the flames had yielded nothing and she couldn't risk too much time before saving her own skin would be off the list of options.

She grabbed her pack, knowing she couldn't save everything, and made a break for it. She used her left sleeve to shield her eyes as she ran through the corridor, trying to avoid the flames, and run back to the dock. When she thought she was close enough she began yelling.

FIRE! THERE'S A GORRAM FIRE!

(OOC: Sorry about that, I managed to jump past a few posts.)

Dock A-17, Glory

Slowly but surely the smell of burning filled the ships and it took a few moments for Becker's nostrils to tell his brain what was going on. "You smell that?" He asked, still trying to decipher the smell and trying to decide where it was coming from.
It soon registered. Fire. On the Baroness? More likely on the ship. Oh shi... It became even more obvious as the smoke began to spread, thickening up to obscure vision.

Becker went for Khei first. A hand shielded his mouth as he went down the stairs, though he wasn't entirely sure what good it would do him, it was the assumed thing to do in a fire. When Khei emerged from the fog Michael would grab her arm and push her in front of him and back up the stairs. He then followed back to what felt would be a safe distance from the fumes.

If he could catch Ian's ear on the way. "I bet the gorram anti-fire systems are disconnected!" He would call with anger. Even the fire extinguishers had probably been moved, making fighting the flames more difficult.

Prisoner x talked a big game, he kept at it as he ran his hands through his hair. "I've got the escape plan all worked out. You in?"

Sonya considered, the debate in her head didn't come out strong one way or another. She'd shared a cell before, looked over those she was sharing with; she was definitely number four here.

"Yeah. I'm in. I got baggage in secure storage..." That probably wasn't in the cards, so, "Cash. And I'd want a ride to my choice of destinations after your delivery." Negotiation wasn't her forte. Talking a good game she couldn't back up, not even close.

Either way, she had made up her mind. This was the kind of person for which she had come looking. Those that would move things to where they needed to be: guns, supplies, . . The end of the verse was coming, a fast ship and those willing to run hard and be put up wet. . . that was what she needed. What her people needed.

Well the bad idea party was off to a wonderful start. A damp scarf had been dumped on his chest, to which he hadn't responded, instead he mind shifted between a string on unrelated thoughts and the conversation which floated in the background. Escape. Well, he had always wanted to try a daring escape from a space station, and when opportunity knocked it would be terribly rude just to say no and shrug it off, but still, talk about amateur hour.

"Tell me." he said, opening his eyes once more and swinging up into a sitting position in a nice, clean movement. "Did any of you happen to notice the dozen or so screens strategically placed around the bar?" While asking this, he looked at each of his new cellmates in turn, but never let them answer. "Your, our faces are now stored locally somewhere on this station, awaiting a quick check from the Feds. And you, want to run." He shook his head and sighed. "Unless you're all planning a life on the run, which I can assure you I am not, your great escape has a hole or two in it." Or six or seven, he added to himself a moment later.

Joseph shrugged, his face changing suddenly to that of a different man completely. "Now as far as crazy goes, this is my kind of flavour." The quick ship exit certainly held appeal, but as what cost? "But fly-boy over there doesn't seem to grasp the slight difference between disorderly conduct charges, and wanted fugitive ones." He shifted his position, placing his back firmly against the cold hard wall, bracing himself. In the meantime the damp scarf that Cyrus had so kindly offered fell unwanted to the ground.

Ian had been wresteling the Bacta tank back onto the ship. He had managed to move the tank into the Cargo bay and up to the Second Mezz area, just outside of the Engine Room proper when he caught sight of the black smoke coming out of the bridge.

He set the tank on its side, making sure the vlaves were closed, and ran across the catwalk to the Observation Deck all the way forward of the ship.

He could barely see with the black smoke from the bridge billowing up through the access to the Obs Deck, He smelled the unmistakable scent of ozone and knew what kind of fire they had

He knew his ship better than the backs of his hands.

He slid down the ladder and moved three paces aft and two paces to the port side of the ship. He opened the panel that he knew was there and shut off all power to the bridge.

He berated himself for not doing this first. It would have prevented any kind of fire like this.

With no power the fire was now just an Alpha class and not the more dangerous Charlie Class.

No more arcs or sparks

"Clear the Bridge"

He shouted and coughed as he left the bridge himself. they would have to set up desmoking equipment from outside the space.

He did not realize until later that the others had already left

IN THE BRIG...

Marcus re-entered the cellblock through the security doors. His footing was heavy as he walked. He approached the cell and spoke to the four Prisoner's. "Got some bad news for ya. You all are looking at murder now. That drunk is dead, seems it was a good blow to the head. Feds will be here soon to bound you by law and hand you over to the Verbena Magistrate. You all are accomplices." With that said he turned about face and exited the cellblock as the doors securely shut behind him.

MEANWHILE IN GLORY....

The smoke and flames died down some with Ian deactivating the power, but it was still thick. A piece of piping then broke from the intense fire, falling and hitting him on the head, knocking him out cold. If anyone looked around the docking bay they would see fire suppression equipment placed next to each airlock door leading to the ships.

Jenna continued to watch the ship for her chance to sneak abord and then she saw the smoke and Ian run back into the ship

Oh, juh jen sh guh kwai luh duh jean jan. She mumbled under her breath as she climbed down from the crates and headded towards the ship.

The smoke was getting thick and she wasn't sure where everyone was but sitting there wasn't going to help.

Stopping in the doorway of the cargo hold she called out to anyone who might be listening.

"Hello does anyone need any help "?

Joseph froze where he sat, eyes rolling from his cut up hand to the security officer as he about faced. He waited until the door had finished sealing properly to say "Bulls**t." Somethings gone down here, and we're getting strung up for it. What's wrong boys, couldn't handle the bull when it woke up again? Yeah, typical space thugs, nothing new here.

He shook his head and resisted a long sigh. Instead, he smiled at his feet. Guess it was just going to be one of those weeks. A nice interesting path, lovely scenery an the like. Joseph swallowed heard and looked to the man in the opposte cell with a questioning stare.

"Red Dawn you say. Sounds like a fine ship," he said quietly, finishing on an convincing smile. "So you would be Captain?" he added, letting the title hang in the air.

IN THE BRIG...

The man laughed lightly at Joseph's remark. "Of Course I'm Captain. It's my gorram ship. The name is Flint Corso. What are your names? I like to know who I am working with." He looked left and right as he continued to formulate his plan.

MEANWHILE... IN GLORY

Jenna could barely see. The smoke was too thick and it was getting worse. The smoke now trailed out of the ship into the A Sector docking bay.

At the declaration of murder, Cyrus had remained still and silent, leaning against the back wall of the cell. When does this even happen? Gorram Feds, Purplebellied sons of wh-. He didn't let off that anything had changed, but the old mans demeanour shifted and he closed his eyes in careful deliberation, listening all the while to the discussion across the cell from him. He still had no justification for trying to escape. Even if he tried, was a man in his position going to succeed?

He didn't respond to this, but listened intently while everyone else did, an odd stroke of de ja vu washing over him at the name Corso. For a few moments he thought it sounded familiar, an old memory, but the gravity of the situation quickly tossed all thoughts on pointless nostalgia out the window.

He just sat.

Listened.

Waited.

Once Khei was safely back in the cargo bay she took a few deep breaths of clear air before mouthing a "thank you" to Mike between gasps. The fire suppression equipment next to the airlocks did not go unnoticed. She quickly grabbed for one, glaced at the directions for use, and headed back into the ship.

She pulled her shirt up over her nose and mouth again as she neared the smokey coridors, using the equipment as the directions denoted, in an effort to put a stop to the fire.

The fire suppression equipment did it's job. It sent a barrage of foam throughout he ship, removing any elements of fire and smoke by smothering it. What remained was a a crispy bridge, with burn marks scattered about. The smell of smoke was still very evident, it would take a while for that to go away. Jenna was the first one to the Bridge where she observed Ian laying on the ground motionless. A pipe laid next to him and he was bleeding heavily from the head.

Mike scanned the cargo bay for some kind of fire suppressing unit, turning objects over and picking up anything that looked like it might do the job. A glance across the bay saw, Khei return with the right equipment. "Ah," he uttered, in a moment of realisation. He then followed her lead, also obtaining one of the tools.

"So, I just pulled you out so you could go back in," was the remark shared as he followed Khei back down to the bridge. He covered his mouth with his left forearm while he right hand grasped the equipment. He followed suit again as he reached the fire, a fiddle with the unit in his hand until it was helping to put out fires. Once all flames were extinguished, it was a matter of waiting for the smoke to clear.

"Ian!" called Mike, renumbering that his captain had gone in there somewhere but had gone unseen. As the smoke cleared the figure was assumed to be him, but when it became more visible it was clearly someone with long hair. The first thing Mike did was draw his gun. Although as the smoke completely cleared, Michael found himself stupid for aiming his gun at what looked like a lanky 19 year old girl. He lowered the gun but kept in hand.

"Who in the-" He was cut off by the sight of Dugan on the floor, less than concious and with blood dripping from his head. Michael was keen to get him, but still unsure about the girl. "What are you doing here?"

Khei gave Mike a smirk in return to his comment but had been glad he was along to help with the fire. Once it was out she surveyed the damage.

Sigh. What's done is done. no sense frettin' over what can't be changed.. It can be fixed though just..

Her thoughts stopped at the site of Ian on the ground and bleeding. She paid little attention to the girl or Mike having drawn his weapon beyond registering that it had happened. She ignored the girl and hurried over, having pulled her over-shirt off, leaving only her long sleeve on. She knelt down and applied the wadded up black shirt to the wound on Ian's head, while using her other hand to keep his head from moving.

She looked between Mike and the new face before talking.

I'm no doctor but we need a neck brace, stretcher, and some bandages. That much I do know. So if either of ya would be so kind to see if there's any in the Med bay?

It was tough to decide which was more important, the unknown intruder on the bridge or the unconscious captain on it's floor. Michael's eyes were mostly kept on watching Jenna, with occasional glances thrown to Ian. While she seemed harmless enough the 'verse had taught Becker that it was best to be cautiousness. It had taught him that well.

Still Khei's instance on helping Mike was swaying him. "We have to get him to the station's med-bay. I'm thinking of smoke inhalation and the like." Mike spoke while eyeing the unknown element on the bridge with his gaze only darting over to Khei briefly as he spoke.

He took a moment to think. "If we got stretchers I don't imagine they're where they used to be, but besides that we got a deactivated cargo lift and little chance of manoeuvring a stretcher up them stairs."

Michael stepped around to where Ian lay. All the while he was watching the intruder and made sure he was facing her as he crouched by Dugan. A gun was still held in his hand. He looked to the captain with what was the lengthiest gaze he'd had away from the young girl. "I'll carry him."

"Um just came to help. Saw smoke figured that there were people aboard who might need help and for the record I did not do that."

Jenna pointed at Iain lying on the floor.

"You seem to have everything under control. I'll just go back to not being here and having guns pointed at me.”

Jenna slowly started to back towards the door not wanting to cause any more problems than there already seemed to be.

Michael had his doubts about a small 19 year old girl claiming to have run onto the ship to help out. Good Samaritan? Maybe. He rubbed his chin with his left hand as he considered her presence here, looking her up and down.

"You know first time I came on this ship I got a gun pointed at me. Captain got the wrong end of the stick." His weapon was holstered. Aside from feeling stupid about holding up the young girl, he could see no weapon on her person and as such little threat. She seemed harmless and a little frightened, and while looks could be deceiving, "I'll give you the benefit of the doubt." There were more important matter to deal with anyway, Mike wasn't sure what else he could really do with her.

"But I hope you can see things from our perspective, Khei will you make sure she leaves the ship." Mike didn't trust the intruder enough to traverse two decks unaccompanied. There would be no place for guests aboard Glory when Michael locked her ship and headed for the med-bay.

He put two fingers against Khei's arm to get her attention, then a hand back to his holstered gun. "Do you want..." She should know what he was offering, it was a matter of how safe she felt escorting a stranger. He intended to be right behind her but a little preoccupied with the 170 pound man over his shoulder.

Dead. The man was dead.

Sonya stayed near the bars, close to the man in the other cell as she could get. She looked back though. At Joseph, though she was yet to know his name. He'd killed that man, hit him one extra time with the beer bottle. Oh well, the other guy had started it. Man shouldn't drink to the point of putting himself in position to get killed. Still, it pissed her off.

She'd been up on charges for murder she didn't do. And that had been in the core, with proper investigators and an expensive defense. It still got muddied up right well. After a look at the cameras she gathered what wits she could.

There was a more than a straw now, if this man wasn't full of... but Corso? That name did mean something. "Sonya Gulliver, late from Glory; a ship of a relation of yours at some time?"

Khei nodded to Mike and riffled around in her pocket until she pulled out a small wad of black electrical wire. If they had no other choice she at least wanted the shirt to stay in place.

She carefully wrapped the wire around Ian's head and the shirt to secure it without being too tight.

That should at least hold for the short walk to th' Med bay. Hopefully he don't have a broken neck.

When he asked her about borrowing his gun she shook her head.

I'm no good with guns. I'll be okay. Been in a scrap or two b'fore.

She headed toward the door and the new face and extended a hand toward the corridor behind. She gave the girl an apologetic look as she did so.

Sorry but I'll have ta see you out.
