Vukic smiled, and his charm was readily apparent. "My shippers will have my container delivered to your ship momentarily. They will stand by until it is loaded, and will ensure its security prior to releasing it into your care. Here is a down payment of the agreed price, and I will have the balance funded to your account upon delivery. Is that satisfactory to you?" Outside, Monte held a hushed conversation with Blaine, but at the end of it, Blaine shook his head and with a clasp of handshake, Monte stood and left the table, returning to Africa's side. "Thought maybe he might be interested in joining us, but he has other things on his plate. Too bad. He's a good one." |

Nick reached out and accepted the parcel, feeling the weight of the money under the burlap. He nodded and tucked it into his pants. "That all sounds shiny. If your men are all set, feel free to have them load it on over. I'm in slip D-7. Aurora class transport, 'Valorous.' Thank you." He gave a little bow, and cocked his head to Sam, indicating it was time to leave and turned for the door. In the hallway outside, he turned to his sister. "I'm going to go head down and supervise the loading of the cargo. You go guide our new crew to the ship and we'll be off." He shuddered slightly. He always got nervous handling someone else's cargo. He always worried about not being cautious enough. He had to overcompensate. "It's best if we transport the cargo as quickly and efficiently as possible. Don't waste time in getting the crew aboard. Pay for their drinks or whatever." He dug out a few small bills and handed them to her and turned away. It was nice to have money again, for sure. He turned around, a little bit up the hallway and looked back at Sam. "See you back aboard," he said allowing her a wry smile and a brief nod with his eyebrows. They were back in the game. They had money, and more was on the way, they had a crew, and work, and all was well. He regained his authoritative composure and tugged at the hem of his shirt. He turned and headed away, his black combat boots thudding hollowly against the corrugated flooring. A little hushed release of steam sprayed from a small hose near the ceiling as he walked through the metallic blue lit corridor toward the docking ring and back home toward his boat, Valorous. |

Sam sat there silently. He was actually agreeing to this. They were actually carrying an item that someone wanted them to transport. Holy crap. This was happening. Nick nodded her out, and she bowed slightly, before heading out of the room. This was a lot of pressure. This was a big freaking deal. "Got it," she replied when nick told her what she was to do. "Wait, Nick," she said pausing for a minute to lick her lips nervously. "Are we really doing this? You know, carrying someone else's package?" This seemed more than dangerous. She would have felt better if she knew what they were carrying, but she also understood that she couldn't know that. She took the money, holding it in her hand. No, this was good. This job would be good for them. It was simple, nothing could go wrong. Well, a lot could go wrong, but if they kept their wits about them, and if she let Nick run the show, they would be fine. This would be fine. It would be fine. Sam just had to convince herself of this first. She walked into the bar, zippering her hoody higher. "Hey, are you guys ready to get out of here? Captain wants us on the boat pronto. He's about ready to set sail," she said, slapping down a few of the bills on to the bar. "This should cover their tab," she said to the bartender, as she checked the box that was still on the stool to make sure nothing went missing. |

Monte smiled as the conversation in the back room ended and the two crew came out, Nick heading off and Sam returning to them. After payment of the bar tab, Sam checked over the crate of supplies. Monte stepped close and motioned with his hands. "I can get that for you." |
