Steph gave a smiling frown at the question as if it was some kind of trick. A few moments later she shook her head and turned to look for someone nearby who they could talk to about getting a ride.

"'course, the idea is to bring him in alive, though boss man don't seem to truly if things get ugly. The focus is for us to find him and keep him on our radar - even if that blip on the radar is six feet under." She gave a loving smile over her shoulder to that comment, neglecting to mention the fact that she, personally, intended to take Corso alive and only alive.

Spotting someone nearby, Steph started towards them, gesturing for Blaine to follow, and greeted them with an enthusiastic wave.

"Howdy there. Any chance you've got a few spare seats on board for Zephyr? My husband here and I would be mighty grateful for a ride." The young girl patted Blaine on the back, giving a wide grin.

Blaine understood what she was getting at, and it seemed they were going to get passage on a boat. Something Blaine hadn't been able to do since leaving the Roisin, maybe if he had more black market connections he would have been able to do all this without her, but he didnt have any connections on the space station so he had to do what he needed to do.

Steph span a story in order to get them onboard the ship, patting him on the back, Blaine patted her on the back, maybe a bit forcefully, and then forced a smile onto his face, which would look very strange.

The man looked up from his clipboard with a somewhat startled expression. "You want out too huh?" he asked loudly, before glancing about and lowering his voice. "Before the real go-se hits the fan?" but before they could answer he was carrying on again. "Well this boat is your answer. Headed Rimward soon as the auto-fueler finishes. Had my fill of all this centre-sector nonsense!" Once he finished, he took a moment to smile appreciatively at the pair, as if judging them good enough to step aboard. "I'm the XO and pilot of the Zephyr, folks round these parts just call me Mr. Nuts on account of some of my musing..." he then fell silent, eyes drifting off toward the ceiling before dropping back onto the pair. "Whereabouts ya headed?"

"Sounds awful tempting, Mr Nuts." Steph gave a playful smile and looked at her 'husband' as if looking for agreement. She then turned back to the man, hitching her backpack up, thumbs looped under the straps.

"We're headed here and there, as you can imagine. Heard there's some pretty sights to see out on Highgate." She threw a wink at the man with the clipboard, confirming her knowledge of just how tourist friendly such a rock was like to be, especially this time of year. "Bit of this, bit of that, you know? Just some time to lay down our burdens." She smiled genuinely at the thought, imaging that in actual fact their 'holiday' was probably going to be of the bloodshed variety.

"Think we might be able to pay our way to someplace like that, Nutty?" Then, to Blaine, "We've got some coin rattling around, don't we hun?"

Steph certainly had the banter down, she was quite adept at the lie as well, as much as she would be annoying to him, she was certainly useful. She gave an answer to Mr Nuts question, but it was hidden in and around lots of misdirection, it was genius really.

She gave him a chance to respond, and basically it was about credits, Blaine had a bit of coin left over from his last "job" so to speak, and whilst he wasn't prepared to part with it, he knew he had too, in order to not only get off the station, but also in order to get a bigger pay day

Blaine nodded at her statement, and pulled out half of the credits he had, it wasn't much, but hopefully it would be enough

The young girl smiled, nodding in approval as Blaine reached into his pockets for the money to help fund their little trip. She turned her back on the ships XO before them for a moment, reaching out to receive the notes. As he hand met Blaines, a quick flick of the rest produced a small clump of crisp notes from her sleeve, combining the two piles in her hand with a grin to her new companion that said 'plenty more where that came from'.

"My large friend and I are the kind who like a quiet journey. Surely this'll take care of matters?" She handed to collection of notes - have crumpled, half fresh from a teller - to the man with the clipboard. It was a decent amount, Steph figured - not enough to raise suspicoun, but more than enough to get them a discrete trip. She hoped so, anyway. It'd been a while since she had had to pay for transit.

Mr. Nuts nodded away as the pair spoke, eyes darting between the two as well as dozens of other points in between. Twitchy didn't even begin to cover it. "Couple after my own heart!" he laughed, chuckling away for a moment or two before dying down. "Aye, sounds good. Highgate's a fair stretch out but nothing we can't manage." he declared with an air of pride, then turned his attention to Blair. "What about strong and silent here? Rule of thumb on board the Zephyr, you don't talk: you don't ride. Or is it a case of not wearing the pants...." he said, drifting off into silence with a grin, raising his eyebrows playfully at the bounty hunter.

It seemed they had enough money in order to get where they needed to go, that was a good thing, but it also seemed as if the guy didnt trust Blaine, or at least wanted him to open up, something Blaine wasn't happy with doing, even if it was a facade

With a wild smile Mr. Nuts threw his hands in the air, his fingers dancing in celebration. "IT SPEAKS!" he declared, throwing a glance over his shoulder toward the airlock entrance, his eyes narrowing for briefly. Muttering something to himself he looked back to the couple. "Shouldn't be much longer, why don't ye stroll in and have a gander? She's not much to look at but she's got it where it counts." he said, finishing with what looked to be a twinkle in his eye.

Steph gave a casual roll of her eyes towards Blaine's response and then gave an enthusiastic nod to the man they'd just paid for the passage. He seemed to be convinced, at least well enough for now. The large man seemed to play the role alright, too. At least he wasn't a fumbling fool, which was exactly what she'd been trying to find out.

"Why, thankyou Mr Nuts." She gave a tip of an imaginary hat and strode on into the cargo bay, making a clear show of the sidearm on her waist to make sure the man was aware of it. He hadn't said a thing about weapons on board yet, though Steph didn't mind either way. She was happy traveling armed or not. What she didn't want, though, was some last minute fuss that made her and her partner the bad guys. Best be up front.

Slowing her pace to see if there was an objection to the weapon, Steph continued into the ship and started casually taking in the layout around her.

Krimson finished checking his weapons in and tucked the key away into a small pocket inside his boot. He took a couple steps inside the bar and discreetly scanned the patrons inside looking for a familiar face or possible signs of trouble. He spotted an open table at the edge of the room and made his way to it. He sat down with his back facing the wall, this was common practice to him to prevent anyone from jumping him from behind. Krimson had worked as a free lance bounty hunter for the past 10 years and had made his fair share of enemies, alliance and other alike. Although he had done his fair share of work for the alliance he still didn't see eye to eye with them on many things.

The waitress came by and Krimson placed his order. He was a traditional man and loved to drink whiskey. He continued to scan the crowd, paying special attention to the entrance and who came through it. He wasn't looking for anyone in particular but he just liked to be prepared. The waitress returned with a bottle and a shot glass. Krimson thanked her and threw some credits onto her tray. He took the top off the bottle and poured himself a shot. The whiskey burned as it traveled down his throat. Krimson liked to drink, it was his one true love in this world. In his mind a good bottle of Whiskey was better than a good woman. The bottle wont leave you for someone else or break your heart. Krimson poured himself another shot and felt his liquid medicine begin to work as the pains in his body dulled. Years of security work and bounty hunting had given Krimson his fair share of wounds. Krimson didn't have the luxury of having a Doctor around so a lot of times he had to patch himself up.

The shots were starting to go down smooth as Krimson watched the patrons in the Baroness. It had been a week since his last job and the credits were starting to get low. Guess I better find some work soon. He thought to himself as he poured the last shot in the bottle. Work usually had a funny way of always coming to him. Today would be no different.

The Bar itself was fairly busy with various travelers swapping stories and reveling in alcohol. At the bar was a gaunt looking man with a receding hair line that was pouring drinks for the thirsty. Outside the vast window that surrounded the bar in a circular fashion, Krimson could see the planet Verbena below. Verbena was still surrounded by an Armada of Alliance ships. Near the rear of the bar was the postal service as well as various merchants trying to peddle their wares.

A large burley looking man stumbled over to where Krimson was sitting with a mug in his hand. The beer from the mug spilled onto the table slightly as he took another large gulp. He looked at Krimson as he wiped his mouth. "Maro.. Is thaaaat. You Maro???" He leaned onto the table as he went to place his free hand on Krimson's shoulder.

Krimson grabbed the mans hand by the wrist before he could put it on his shoulder. "I think you have me mistaken for someone else boss!" He said with a smile as he released the mans hand and gently pushed it aside. The waitress arrived and brought another bottle for Krimson. "Another glass please mame." Krimson asked as he paid for the bottle. The waitress placed the glass on the table and gave him a wink and a smile as she walked away. He checked her out as she walked away and made a mental note to himself to find her later and see if she was up for some companionship. Krim poured two glasses and offered one to the burly man who had mistaken him for his friend.

The man laughed as he took the glass of alcohol and chugged it, slamming the empty glass on the table. "Your alrigh..t ther.." He then stumbled away to the bar, pleased with the free drink.

Krimson could see out of the corner of his eye, a man in a dark colored duster and black cowboy hat looking over in his general direction while smoking a cigarette. The man was sitting at a corner booth of the bar with a half filled glass of whisky.

Krimson didn't recognize the man who appeared to be looking at him and more often than not that was a good thing. He pretended like he didn't notice him and downed a couple more shots. He got up and walked towards the bathroom, stopping the waitres along the way. "Hey beautiful!" He said as he looked over her shoulder towards the man in the booth. If Krimson wasn't sure the man was looking at him before, he was now. "Put another bottle on my table." He said as he paid the waitres and gave her a nice pat on the ass. He walked into the bathroom and did his business. The whiskey was starting to hit him so he washed his hands and face in the sink to try to sober up. He walked back to his table and could see the man in the booth following him with his eyes.

Krimson got to his table but didn't sit down. He picked up the fresh bottle and his glass and walked over to where the man with the black cowboy hat was sitting. He sat down without asking and opened up the fresh bottle and poured himself a shot. "Now the way I see it is your wanting 1 of 3 things from me." He said as he poured a shot into the mans glass. "1 you want to hire me, 2 you want to fight me or 3 you want to date me. Now I wouldn't recommend number 2 or 3 cause then things will just end up messy and one of us will get hurt and frankly your not really my type." Krimson said as he put the cap back on the bottle, put it down on the table and downed his shot. "So what can I do for you?"

"You're reputation precedes you Mr. Krimson. I expected you to be.. taller." A dry smirk fell on his face as he took a shot of his remaining whiskey.

"They call me 'Chance'. I already know all about you. I am representing the interests of my Client and they have a job for you that must be done without drawing any attention, as this ain't exactly legal. The pay is good. Are you interested?"

"You had me at pay is good Mr. Chance!" Krimson said as he laid back in his chair. "As for the legality of the job, well that raises the price a tad." Krimson returned the dry smirk. He poured another shot for the both of them and raised his glass to his new client and downed the shot. "Now I don't like to talk business in such a fine establishment as this one and I imagine you don't either." He said with a hint of sarcasm. "It's bad manners, I'm sure you understand!" He looked around to see if anyone had heard the conversation so far. Last thing Krimson needed was for some off duty alliance member to hear about possible illegal dealings.

Another reason Krimson didn't like to talk business in a bar was cause he was unarmed. He always liked to have his gun on his hip incase negotiations went sour. Krimson could tell that Chance wasn't new to hiring someone with Krimson's talents. So he knew chance would appreciate his professionalism. A newer bounty hunter would have discussed it right there in front of everyone in the bar. Not thinking that someone who knew the target or perhaps even the target themselves could be listening. It's a rookie mistake that Krimson had seen made a couple times. Bounty hunter was so excited he had got a job he almost wet himself. The targets brother was in the booth next to them and overheard the whole conversation. When the bounty hunter left he blew his head off.

"Do you have somewhere we can discuss the details Mr. Chance?"

Chance signaled for a waitress and slipped her a few credits while whispering in her ear. The waitress then gestured for the both of them as she walked towards the back of the bar. She keyed open a door which led to a staircase. At the top of the staircase was a small private booth with leather seats. The room was small with a heavy pane window on each side of them. One side revealed the entire bar below, while the other showed the planet Verbena in all it's glory with the mass of Alliance ships surrounding it. They both took a seat as the waitress placed a bottle of whisky on the table with two small glasses and then took her leave.

"This private enough for you?" Chance grinned as he opened the bottle and poured the drink in each glass. He took off his cowboy hat, placing it on the bench next to him, revealing dark brown hair in a pony tail.

"Much abliged!" Krimson replied as he tipped his hat. He followed suit and removed his hat as well, placing it on the table next to him. "Now Mr. Chase, what's this job your client has for me?" He asked as he leaned forward and put his arms on the table. Krimson was willin to accept any job, as long as the pay was there. He didn't much care if the job was legal or not but if it wasn't then naturally the price went up for obvious reasons. No sane man risks his freedom for a regular rate. Sure Mr. Chance could have got another bounty hunter at a lower rate but then the chances of the job being successful wouldn't be as good. Krimson had been hunting for 10 years already and had built up an impressive reputation for success. In his 10 years Krimson only ever refused 1 job, the details of which he has never told anyone. To say the client was disappointed was an understatement. He still has to watch his back to this day.
