Bruno made a low, guttural coughing sound before swallowing hard and smiling. "Sounds to me like you don't rightly know where you wanna go, wouldn't you agree Mr. Blair?" he asked with a grin, taking a step forward toward the bar and picking up an empty glass.

Blaine's senses were heightened at the bartender knowing his name. Blaine hadn't told him, but to be fair, he could have heard it when the Kidd came into the room, 'tenders were good at picking things up. Blaine didnt look up from his PDA, still trying to find something, anything.

Does anyone ever know? he replied simply.

"Some surely think they do, else they wouldn't be so gun ho on getting themselves killed, but that's neither here nor there." Bruno replied, slowly filling the glass with a clear but fizzy looking liquid from one of the unmarked taps. He testingly took a sip and nodded appreciatively. "Still, for a fellow of your unique skill set to find himself lost and adrift, boggles the mind a little." he then added with a not so subtle wink.

This was getting weird, the 'tender seemed to know too much about him, The thing about "Blaine" was that he wasn't who he said he was, and he was always paranoid about getting found out, Regan was close, but that went nowhere, now this guy?

There's just nowhere TO go, no ships on or off this place at the moment, at least not on the Cortex he stated

Blaine shifted himself, in order to have a fight or flight type reaction, this guy was getting to questiony for his liking

Bruno rolled his eyes and then downed what remained in the glass. "Well, you keep checking that little computer of yours, maybe a ship will fly right oughta that tiny screen and you'll be sorted." He paused, holding a straight face for a few seconds before breaking down into a small fit of laughter. Wiping a tear away from below his eye, he placed the empty glass on the counter top and leaned forward, his voice dropping as he continued. "Course, you could always try something else, perhaps a more practical alternative?" he asked with a cheshire grin, fingers rolling rhythmically across the counter top.

The 'tender started laughing at a joke he made, Blaine didn't even register a smile, he didn't like people, especially ones who made light of his situation or who laughed at his expense. Blaine's hand slowly made a fist, but then relaxed. Blaine had to control himself, especially in this environment, being on a space station meant being confined to a place, even if it seemed the size of a city, you were always being watched...

The 'tender spoke of a practical alternative

Speak he said simply

Blaine wasn't interesting in stealing, but he needed ideas, there didnt seem to be any ships coming in or out of the space station. Stealing wasn't really an option, because of his past, but ideas, they were free...

Bruno starred at Blaine quietly for a few moments with a confused expression. "Ain't you been listening? Speaking's exactly what I been doing! What I don't do is your gorram leg work for ya. Great fellow once said any man can't find work ain't looking hard enough, must'a wrote that for you in particular." he said with a smile, looking over his shoulder to some point at the end of the bar and nodding.

"Still, must like the cut of your jib as the saying goes. So how about you fly outta here with some real wind in your sails?" he said, looking back to Blaine and dropping his voice. "Back of the bar, service entrance on the far left, when you're ready of course." Bruno finished with a wink and then returned to testing his taps.

Blaine nodded at the 'tender. He was suspicious about him, but he was giving him a lead nonetheless. Blaine picked up his stuff from the lockers out front, threw a couple of credits onto the counter for drinks and tip for the 'tender, and made his way to the back of bar.

Blaine knew he wasn't allowed guns in the space station, but no one said anything about other weapons. Blaine had his baton on his hip. He walked slowly through the exit, and into, hopefully, a way off the space station.

Bruno returned to busying himself with the cleaning and serving the rest of the bar, while the other customers sipped away on their drinks. Meanwhile Blaine moved to the rear of the bar un-noticed. He approached a large, un-marked wall that he had been directed too. A thin strip of light ran up it's length briefly before a low hiss could be heard behind it. A second or so later a portion of the wall slipped sideways to reveal a hidden elevator.

In it stood a stranger, a remarkably good looking one at that. She stood there silently smiling at him, as if waiting for his first input on the situation.

Blaine walked, his almost "sixth sense" was tingling, this didn't feel safe, but then again, Blaine made a great deal of creds on unsafe situations. Blaine kept his wits about him, as he walked slowly down the corridor, making sure to beware of the dark corners, his hand next to his baton just in case.

Blaine reached a wall, it was dimly lit, he tapped the door, it was hollow, it hissed open

'Tender sent me he said simply

The young girl before Blaine smiled and took a step to the side, gesturing for him to enter the elevator she was standing in. She was a little shorter than average, slim and athletic, with a curl of shoulder length brown hair framing her attractive face. Eyes flashed his way, a pearly white smile beckoning, and he slender hand held down the button to keep the doors from closing.

"Bartender was it now? Sounds right, I s'pose." She seemed far more amused about the current situation than she had any reason to be, as if there was some unspoken joke that she wasn't about the share with the towering man before her. She wore heavy black boots, the military kind Blaine had probably seen many times before in mercenary circles, and a matching getup of a fatigue jacket and cargo pants over a plain black singlet. There was no obvious sign that the young girl was armed.

"Come come. Lots to do." She nodded towards the elevator floor beside her again, ready to hit the button heading up.

Blaine looked at the girl, she looked "innocent" enough, but Blaine knew that looks could be deceiving. Sure he could probably take her out if needed, but he decided to go with it, and stepped into the elevator with her.

Standing next to her, he looked forward, but used his peripheral vision to make sure no funny business happened on her end. His hand was near his baton, on the off chance.

whats the job? he asked simply and to the point

The young girl snickered at Blaine's forward approach to the situation and playfully hit a button on the wall console. The doors hissed shut and the small elevator started to ascend. She then turned back to the other occupant and eyed him again - not quite what she'd been expecting, but it definitely made sense. If first impressions count, this one should be a keeper.

"Someone's keen." She smiled cheekily at that, extending one hand out towards the hulking man. "Stephanie Haynes is the name. Your new partner, way I see it. Could be worse, right?" Steph gave a wink then, turning her attention back to the door of the elevator waiting for their stop to arrive. The plan was to find a way off this station, preferably sooner than later. The upper docking levels should have something cruisy on offer.

"The 'job' is nothing too exciting, don't you worry. Modest pay, though." She raised an eyebrow. "Very modest. But all in all she's not more than a little game of hide and seek. Sound like something you can manage?" The details would come soon enough - Stephanie knew his type; there was money on the table and she hoped he wouldn't be saying goodbye until he'd at least heard how much there was. Until then, why not have a little fun?

The girl snickered, and the elevator started to ascend. The girl said her name, Blaine didn't give any emotion to the revelation, only simply responding with

Blaine Blaire

She explained the job, well, vaguely explained the job, and Blaine nodded when she asked if he understood. Blaine just kept on looking at his surroundings through his peripheral vision. The job sounded legit enough, but then again, most of the time they sounded legit, but whether or not they actually were, was a different matter.

"Blaine Blaire." She repeated it a few time, as if genuinely struggling to remember the name from somewhere, but just shrugged and gave a superfluous smile in his direction as the elevator pinged its way up through the levels.

"Well, Mr Blaire, I hope you don't mind company out in the Black. I'm not too sure what your experience might be..." A lie. She'd read his file twice, "... but I do imagine this little adventure will be the type that... well, drags out." A loud ping echoed around the tiny compartment and Stephanie's eyes widened like a child, her excitement genuine.

"Flint Corso. Ever heard the name?" The doors started to open before them and the young girls mind was already racing with giddy anticipation - what kind of pretty boat would they be jumping on today?

The girl knew stuff about him, but Blaire knew it would only be stuff which he had put out in the 'Verse. As far as the 'Verse knew, Blaine Blaire was a bounty hunter, with many kills and jobs under his belt, they wouldn't know the truth about him, that he was acutally former special ops under the Alliance, and had created the Blaine Blaire history in order to hide out from not only the Alliance but his former life.

The girl tried to act coy, but Blaine knew that she held all the power in this little tete a tete. She was the one who was offering a job, something he needed, something he wanted, she had the power, and he was just a pawn in her game.

It seemed she would be joining him in the mission, Blaine usually liked to work alone, or at least for only a short amount of time with others, but it seemed that the mission may drag on, well, according to her at least, but Blaine knew he could cut the time of the mission by a bit, by using his strategic mind and such.

She mentioned a name.

Heard of it, cant say we've ever crossed paths though.

Stephanie smiled as she took a step out of the elevator - it'd been a while since she'd been on the Baroness, but surely level 13 was still the primary freight docking ring - and turned back to the hulking man beside her. With combat bots, cargo pants, a fatigue jacket, black singlet and small brown backpack, not only did she look like someone ready to dive headfirst into some guerrilla warfare in the jungle, but the small girl was dwarfed by Blaine. It didn't seem to intimidate her, though - Steph had worked with a lot harsher men than Blaire. That is, if what she'd heard about him was true.

"Quiet type, eh? Well then, I'm not surprised you've heard the name." She started off down the corridor, leading the way. If things were as the boss man had said, they'd be able to grab a discrete ride pretty easily with a fistful of creds. As she walked, the young girl eyed the digital plaques down the hallway that listed ship names, credentials and destinations.

"Well, Mr Corso is the job, and we're the messengers. I know, I know. Don't worry - I assure you a bit of action, where we're headed." A cheeky wink over her shoulder masked the million miles an hour her mind was racing at. She was getting ahead of herself - again - her mind already down on the planet.

"There was some local colour not too long ago involving a little boat called the Glory, you might have heard of it. Think it was on Verbena, with something to do with the Ziggaro or the Ziggaruse." Steph worried for a half second that the irony would be lost on the big man, as the Verbena blockade was still idling outside the very space station they were on. She continued down the hall.

"Now this guy, the one we're working for..." She stressed the we to make it clear that they were now partners, "...has some beef with Mr Corso. So he figured maybe some folk of our, er, expertise, might be able to bring the man in." She gently, almost lovingly, tapped the holster on her belt, not glancing back at her new companion. "Trouble is, we ain't got much of a lead on him, so it's going to be a bit of a blind shitstorm for a few days. Hope that's alright with you." Still watching over the available ships, Stephanie continued to search for something headed there way. The last anyone had heard, Corso had hit the ground running on Zephyr.

That's where we start.

The girl talked, calling him the quiet type. Blaine had put on the quiet facade after the incident, not letting people in after what had happened, it also worked in keeping people at a distance, stopping him from being disappointed in humanity and also it allowed his work to do the talking for him. Blaine had gone from job to job, some on his own, some as part of a group, but he had never really seen the same people more than three times, sure he had contacts, but they knew to just give him a job, and let that be the end of it.

The Glory had been brought up, Like Corso, Blaine had heard of it, but never crossed paths with it. Both had a reputation, reputations were just that to him though, he liked to make his own judgements on things, and not let other peoples 'myths' and 'legends' hinder his thoughts.

It seemed that Blaine was going to be working with the girl, he didn't mind that, hopefully it wouldn't be too long a job, and he could move onto the next one, but at the moment, just getting off the space station was good enough for him. It seemed they didn't have any leads, but then again, most of the time, Blaine just needed a bit of information in order to get what was needed

Blaine nodded at the girl at the end of her talk. He was ready.

Stephanie had stopped, staring at her huge companion, her long string of somewhat coherent ravings just about finished. There was a brief silence then, the large man simply nodding, and the girl literally broke into laughter as she continued onwards, shaking her head. This is going to be some ride. She kept quiet then, or at least it was visible that she was trying her hardest to. The pair were simply walking the ring of the station, a level solely used for docking of larger ships. The electronic plaques on the wall hadn't given her any joy yet and they were about half way through the lap.

The halls along this route were mostly empty now with a few technicians here and there coming to or getting off their most recent shift. Walking ahead, leading Blaine along, Steph looped her thumbs in the straps of her backpack and couldn't resist whistling an out of tune version of some song she clearly didn't know. It seemed against her nature to stay silent, something that even a fool would pick up on after a few minutes of her company.

Finally and excited sound from her lips and she stopped, pointing to a small screen by one of the airlocks. It had details listed up - Captains name, Ship name, ship model, estimated time of departure, the list went on. At the bottom in bold, where her finger was point, was the destination: Zephyr.

"This here might be our ride, big man. Last known location, that little rock. Hopefully we can get a scent of Mr Corso." She sounded like a young girl talking about going to buy a new puppy, not a bounty hunter searching out their prey. She gave Blaine a big smile of the did-I-do-good variety.

Blaine followed the girl, she was preky to say the least, but there was something about her, something darker, maybe she knew about it, maybe she didn't but Blaine wasn't entirely trusting of her, but then again, Blaine never really questioned where his pay packet was coming from, just as long as he was getting paid. Before, when he was bounty hunting, he was working for a kinda of characters, doing all kinds of jobs.

They stopped, and she told him the situation. Blaine paused, and simply said

How we bringing him in? Dead or Alive?
