The rumbling and shaking didn't tell Africa anything about the source. It was puzzling, a look over the shoulder of the other two men revealed the source. She said a private silent prayer, her lips moved 'hold them close Lord', but no sound. A touch to her heart with a little cross made by her finger.

"Gentlemen, unless one of you is certain about crash doors, maybe we should go to an interior passage." The strength of the explosion shouldn't break the glass of the station, but there would be munitions. A much more tremendous explosion was possible.

Blaine had left Monte at the door of the bar, there wasn't many people around, and so he wasn't worried about him being taken, just to make sure, he sat at a point in the bar where his back was to a wall, and his eye line would see the edge of the cylinder as it sat outside.

Even though he had seen no ships in the ring outside, he decided to see if there were any about, checking through his cortex feed, he looked for any outbound ships.

Blaine paid no commotion to the people rubbernecking to what was going on outside the space station...

Ariel It had been mentioned in the notes about the virus that had been given to Monte being started, or manufactured in Ariel, he couldn't remember the exact wording, but maybe that's where he would have to go next?

There was a loud banging coming from the cylinder near the door. Anyone that heard it would see a cylinder like object covered with a sheet. The banging became more and more frantic.

No one seemed able to turn away. Africa retreated slightly, she couldn't make them take safer shelter. Others gathered near the bar. Then she too secumbed to the temptation, one beyond a road side hover wreck: an Alliance superstructure falling to the planet below. Escape pods floating behind, safe for a moment then exploding. A ship seemed to falter and fall to its death below in the atmo.

Again she turned a way, some metallic sound gathering her attention, "Jesus take them, spare them undue suffering." So many dead. A tear slowly descended across her cheek as she moved slipping into long years of practice, clearing her mind. Coming back to the present. Away from the overwhelming pain she felt.

The banging became more and more frantic. Africa pulled the sheet away from the cylinder.

Africa saw Monte pounding on the glass with an oxygen mask on his face. He was shirtless and wearing a pair of trousers. It looked like he was frantic.

Monte laid in the strange chamber, sweat beading up on his forehead and soaking the skin along his side under his arms. Darkness was all around him, even though his eyes were wide open. Or so he felt. It's hard to tell when there is no light. No light for a long time. The Dream, if indeed a dream it was, was still crawling around in his head; a tightness that caused shivers to run up his spine. Or was that the electrodes that controlled his every movement? Every thought? Every waking moment?

Well the deputy walks on hard nails and the preacher rides a mount
But nothing really matters much it's doom alone that counts
And the one-eyed undertaker he blows a futile horn
"Come in" she said
"I'll give you shelter from the storm".

He reached up and out, feeling the closeness of that which enclosed him. The choking in his mouth, the dryness in his eyes, and yet he could feel his own breathing; his heart crashing in his chest. The Dream escaped if only for a moment. He pounded on the wall so close in front of him. Beat it to death, he would. Teach them to burrow into his brain and infect it with disease and blood sucking whatever.

I was burned out from exhaustion buried in the hail
Poisoned in the bushes and blown out on the trail
Hunted like a crocodile ravaged in the corn
"Come in" she said
"I'll give you shelter from the storm".

Suddenly, the world lit up in fire, searing pain across his eyes. He closed them in agony, crossing his arms over his face, numbing his left elbow as it hit the tight wall before him. Screams that would not escape his lips, tight as they were over the stale proboscis that forced its way down his throat to choke the very life out of him. He gagged. And again. Bile rose in the back of his throat. Tears flooded his eyes and ran down his cheeks.

"Mrcbmbr chkbmflrl!!"
But my heart is not weary, it's light and it's free I've got nothing but affection for all those who sailed with me
Stick with me baby, stick with me anyhow. Things should start to get interestin' right about now

Blaine saw the girl heading towards the cylinder, he got up, made his way towards her, but it was too late, she had ripped the blanket off, and saw Monte.

Blaine came up behind her, grabbed her wrist, and turns her around her to face him

He's sick was all he said

Blaine looked down at Monte, he was struggling, Monte looked in pain, Blaine couldnt tell if it was from the waking up, or because the virus was in him. Blaine put his hand on the top of the glass of the cylinder, by Montes tosro... and looked down at Monte...

Africa felt the presence of the man approaching, but they had seemed to have arrived together. He reached for her and she did not respond. A possible tactical mistake, as long as he held her arm she would be at a disadvantage, yet her emotional response was to react to his.

Concern.

"I meant no harm, but he seems in trouble." Her hand gently touched Blaine's hand over her wrist. "Does this protective coccon have any type of diagnostic?"

She looked him eye to eye. Her own concern was sincere. There was no threat, she relied on her own emotions to open.

A red flashing light started to blink on a small panel attached to the cylinder. The oxygen tanks were reading empty.

Monty couldn't take his eyes off the ship and the fact that it was breaking up into several pieces. A t the sound of another voice he turned slightly as a stranger grabbed at the girl's arm.

Before the stranger could respond Monty attempted to step between them. “Now that's no way to treat a lady. You might want to let her go.”

"Tāmen de línghún bǎoyòu..." Ty said as he stood looking out one of the view-ports. He had spent the better part of the morning drowning his sorrows. His arrival on the late afternoon ferry was without ceremony, just the way he liked it. He'd picked out a simple booth in the back of the quiet bar.

It didn't much matter to him that the cruiser was likely full of the same folks who would have rejoiced if their roles had been reversed some seven years before. To sentence that many people to die with one move. It's struck Ty as downright perverse. All this had turned his attention away from the minor drama happening with the young woman and the two gentlemen. Ty had a habit of observing, it was what he did when he had a little too much.

The woman caught his attention first, her beauty not withstanding, he couldn't help but feel that he'd seen her before, somewhere. The first gentleman seemed quite concerned with the contents of the cylinder he stood guard over, so much so that he snatched the woman away as she inspected it.

He recognized the second fellow as a former crewmate, or was he a passenger? Montgomery? Monseigneur? Mon-...something or other. He seemed to take objection to the rough treatment of a lady. Something told Ty however that the lady could fend for herself.

He wished to himself that he'd had one less drink as he sat back down. There wasn't much else to do, and so Ty returned to his drink quietly. A massive attack like the one he just witnessed just confirmed what he already knew; the black was a dangerous place with desperate people all vying for money or power, and sometimes both. He needed to sober up and found a ship. The sooner Baroness was in his afterburners...the better.

"Tāmen de línghún bǎoyòu" - "bless there souls"

The doctor stretched her legs as she carried her bags along the corridor, rolling her shoulders as she looked over at Lupin, Good to be able to stretch again, right? Still she was worried about why they are here and she looked down at her PDA to check it again and tapping out a message while walking.

The woman responded to him, Blaine was about to respond back when someone else came into play. Trying to help the woman. Blaine put his hands up, he didn't want to cause a scene.

Hey, If you guys wanna take him off my hands, then that's shiny

Blaine took off the blanket, put it back in his bag, gave them the medication and the charts that came with the cylinder and started to walk back to the bar.

Monte shouldn't really be his concern, he had done what "The Captain" had told him to do, but beyond that, Blaine wasn't about to go above and beyond, he had already put his life on the line in order to save Monte, and all he had got from it was a few credits.

Africa looked quickly back and forth between man in glass and man of stone. She took the med and charts then began looking at the control panel. There was nothing to indicate... anything. It needed entry data, codes or something on the keyboard.

"He needs your help." Chamberlain sat the charts and instructions on the cylinder, looked for some sort of quick instruction guide, trouble shooting. There must be something in case of emergency.

She looked back to the receding man. Monty was there too. "I need your help." she said simply, then returned to the instructions. There was one simple entry for 'OVER-RIDE EMERGENCY RELEASE'. Africa entered ORER on the keypad then immediatly moved to make eye contact to the man within.

Africa smiled with love and hope. Said a prayor. "Blessed mother grant me aid."

The hands wrapped around his throat was a crushing weight on Monte as the burning light came again to wash over his face. He could feel his lungs screaming for air that wasn't coming. The snake shoved down his throat was gagging him with no sign of letting up. He tried to grip it with his hands, but they refused to respond to his mental commands. The bile in his mouth found the edge of his lips and started seeping out. His eyes, clamped against the searing brightness, watered and tears ran down his cheek.

It'd be better to be dead.

Blaine saw the cylinder open, Blaine didnt know whether Monte was infected or not, he didn't even know if the infection was airbourne. Pulling out a mask from his battle ready suit, he put it on. Blaine didnt want to risk the chance of infection.

The cylinder opened up with a loud hissing sound as left over oxygen dissipated in the air. Monte writhed back and forth as he was drenched in sweat.

Bruno looked over and cursed. "What the hell are you people doing?"

Africa Chamberlain was not a nurse, but she'd seen the procedure when she volunteered in the hospital during the war. It didn't look hard, not balanced with the alternatives.

Still with the calming smile on her face she placed one hand on Monte's chest and firmly held him down. Her other hand gripped the breathing tube. "When I say now, blow!" Africa nodded once to Monte. "Blow." she said firm and clear.

Chamberlain pushed on his chest and pulled steady and firmly at the tube.

Colin slinked out of the recently-arrived shuttle, showing his intimidation at the sprawling station in which he was now stuck, without money and without a plan. In considering this predicament, he spotted the doctor from before. Her and her...husband? He'd guess so, have been on his same track for a while now. Colin decided this was not without reason, and that a doctor might have some amount of worthwhile coin on-hand. He began tailing them, trying to look, at the very least, like he knew where he was going.

As her PDA chirped at her the doctor looked down at it again and slumped a bit with a grumble, Great... Can't anything go right this week? she asked rhetorically as she locked her PDA and then pocketed it.

She gave Lupin a glance as the duo strolled down the corridor, Are you hungry? she gave a few glances around for somewhere to grab something to eat.
