Ian nodded to Khei and smiled, as she left. "We wont leave home with out ya. TaKe yer time, you know where we'll be." He knew there was a problem, but he didn't know what. He just had a few too many of his own right now is all. To Michale he said, "She'll be alright. Let's get to work." Once back to the ship he again pulled off his coat and started working on getting the equipment back on board and thenback in place. His head began to pound, but he ignored it and continued working. He was deep inside the Glory when the firefight came and went. He paused in his work to listen, thinking he heard something, but when the small popping sounds did not return, he continued. |

The soft footfall of boots on the metal grating echoed through Dock A-17 as someone approached the near empty ship that was the Glory. There was a brief pause, as if the newcomer was unsure how to proceed, and then a loud knocking from the airlock. "Er... is anyone here? Captain Dugan, I'm after." It was a male voice - he sounded young. |

Once Sonya hit the button, the airlock door to Red Dawn closed and secured itself with the sound of pressure. She had managed to find the Bridge and observed two empty seats with a powered down console. There were multiple switches that would seem confusing to those that wern't experienced pilots. A red button on the far right console had writing engraved under it that read Burn, baby, Burn. Through the helm, Sonya saw an Alliance Warship heading towards her out of the darkness of space, almost seeming like it was going to swallow her alive. Popping sounds could be heard from the interior of the Red Dawn as the Federal Agents were attempting to blast their way in. MEANWHILE.....IN THE BARONESS The custodian threw his hand in the air at Khei, shrugging her off and headed off into another corridor. |

He breathed, and breathed. Val came aboard, and he heard him and the Captain talk, he didn't hear what was said, half concentrating on his own well being, the other half just not really caring. He heard the girl, Saren, who they had met in another cell, shouting from outside the ship, again, he wasn't really paying attention. It seemed self absorbed, which usually a trait he exposes much, but he had to at this moment in time. He needed to concentrate on himself, so that he could be fine with everything that had been happening to him and around him. Sonya started talking to him, he finally awoke from his self imposed self absorption, and listened to someone else. He took her advice, standing up, he started to breath, she smiled at him, and he smiled back. The next thing he knew, The Captain was running off the ship, Remy didn't know why, he went out to look, when he heard bullets and instinctively went back into the ship, cowering behind a wall. Seemed this wasn't an easy escape afterall. Why had the Captain left? He didn't really know, all he knew was that he wanted this boat in the air, and soon. Little by little people started coming back to the ship, everyone, including a new person, a girl, and a bullet ridden captain. Sonya ran upstairs, to get them out of there, and it was just the rest of them left, Remy knew he needed to do something, anything. He heard bullets, he wasn't a fan of guns, not in the slightest, he didn't know much medical stuff, so all he knew was how to comfort people. The girl had ran to the crate, he walked round, trying to find her, he eventually did. She was sitting, eyes closed, much like he was before her arrival. He kept his distance, "We'll be okay little one" he stated simply, sometimes all people needed was reassurance. Edited by ribsource, Oct 31 2012, 06:40 AM.

Everything had happened so fast and the old man had simply backed away from the opening as the survivors of the gunfight scurried aboard, Sonya slapping the control panel until the airlock sealed up tight behind her. As silence descended, broken only by the echo of Sonya's running as she hurried to the bridge, Cyrus turned to assess the situation. In general terms, everyone was ok. The young girl looked terrified, the flying Companion doing what he could to comfort her. Saren was still nearby, Joseph just across the way, examining the crates that filled most of the cargo bay. It was only now that Cyrus noticed that every single one of them - 50 or so crates - were very clearly marked as property of the Blue Sun group. Oh, goody... The old man wasn't a thief, nor was he foolish enough to believe that Mr Corso was working for Blue Sun. A technially stolen ship with a cargo bay full of stolen goods. And all he'd wanted was a quiet drink. He moved across the large bay, towards an intercom on the wall, and keyed the button he assumed would transmit his voice throughout the ship. "Yer found the bridge? Can you get us moving?" Letting the button go, Cyrus turned back to Saren as he awaited a reply from their default pilot. "You ok?" |

Mike was quickly convinced as 'feminine thing' was introduced in to the mix. "Oh. Right. Sorry." He didn't imagine what was wrong but accepted that there was an existence of an issue he hadn't be considering. "Good, luck?" Immediate regret at his choice of words followed. A grimaced look was given to Ian, who would surely understand how he felt.
"Gladly," and Mike followed on back to the ship to reignite their daunting task. He continued with what he could, which considering his level of skill wasn't much but facilitating for Dugan. Not as deep in the work as Ian was, he was alert enough to catch the evidence of a stranger entering the ship.
"Ian." He spoke to gain his captain's attention in case he was unaware of the visitor. With guns still at his waist, Michael made his way to the cargo bay ready for trouble if it came to that, ready if it didn't. That was the best way to operate. Edited by Becker, Aug 20 2012, 03:05 PM.

The voice had come from a young boy - perhaps 15 or 16 years young - who was awkwardly standing by the entryway to the Glory, a clenched fist held up with the intent to knock again. He stopped, frozen, when Michael entered the cargo bay. The boy stared for a few seconds. "Mr Ian Dugan, I presume? I got a message for the Captain, you see." This time he was much quieter, staring about the docking bay and mostly at his feet as he spoke. He was wearing a pair of black leather dress shoes, black pants riddled with wrinkles and creases, and a simply white business shirt topped with a black vest. His hair was a mess of brown curls. Anyone could have mistaken him for a staff member of the bar, were he a bit older. |

The moment Saren and Cyrus had reached the ship, the Feds opened fire. Everything was going so fast, yet so slow at the same time. She watched Corso run out to the girl they had left behind, and witnessed him be gunned down. Sonya zig-zaging her way through the bullets to get to the small girl, cowering beside Corso's body..
Cyrus whispered to Saren, whilst passing his doctor's bag to her. "I hope it doesn't have to come to that.." she whispered under her breath, all while thinking about her brother. Sonya and the young girl made it back into the cargo bay, shutting the doors behind her.
"We're leaving him behind?!" Saren questioned, hoping to hear an answer off anyone..
Saren turned to face Cyrus. "Yeah, I'm fine. How's the leg?" She asked him, while trying to regain her calm. |

"We're leaving him behind?!" The words haunted her as Gulliver looked over the control panel. A smile at the hard burn button. Probably prewired and programmed. Clever, or necessaryreally for a lone smuggler. They didn't have much time, an Alliance Warship. They always looked rather... big. She powered up, hit the second switch for Gravionics and then the final Intertia Drive. The science of any of them foreign as Esperanto. Corso. Another Corso so central to her life. And she'd just left him there. Even thought of grabbing his gun. Not him. "not now" The comm, "Yer found the bridge? Can you get us moving?" "I can." she replied. Or if not, lying now wouldn't matter. Just one thing. They were still stuck to the Baroness. The skyplex's air lock "Next to the air lock controls, should be a panel. 'do not open' sort of thing. Open it and pull the air lock emergency exposive bolts or some such. We're still grabbed by the station. Don't worry about them on the other side, they'll get an auto warning to get clear." Well, most of the time. Gulliver felt near sick again. She looked at the incoming warship, hard straight and true, near perpendicular to the skyplex. Her thoughts went to moving away from the station, straight to the warship, it couldn't fire at them with the station behind them. Then full thrusters, hard pull positive yaw with a twist, then pulse and a hard drive to put the ship in the wake of the energy release. Yeah, that'd do it. She strapped in. Joseph grimaced a little at all the Blue Sun logo plastered everywhere. Either they were hiding behind a few years supply of dried foodstuffs, or taking Corso on his appearance, a cargo of well disguised, likely illegal items, neither of which seemed to be much use at this time. For a moment, he considered trying to pry one open, but disregarded the thoughts as his gaze was soon drawn elsewhere. At the other end of the bay, Sonya had a made a dash outside, why, he had no idea. The Captain maybe? Or the kid? She soon returned, child in hand. Great, another hero in the making, likely get us all killed. He shook his head, his neck getting sore from this now repeated action, but it was just going to be one of those sigh filled days as he tried to survive. He broke his cover, no sign of their attackers entering, and moved up the length of the cargo bay in a low crouch, keeping a quick pace, pistol in hand, arriving at the crate closest to the hatch with a long exhale. Running, hated it, ended up doing it more than he pleased, damn the Verse. He looked over to where Sonya had taken refuge and yelled "Get that gorram hatch ..." a series of loud clanks interrupted him as that hatch in question closed in on itself, followed by a long hiss which faded into an awkward silence. "... sealed." he finally finished with an unimpressed look on his face. Joseph turned his gaze back to the sealed door, poor Corso having been left on the other side. Better him than me. Wasn't exactly fair, but fair hadn't really been an option of late. Just another casualty of survival, not that he was keeping track or anything. He pushed the thoughts from the front of his mind, there wasn't time for this now. "Bridge." He agreed with a nod, looking back to the group as Sonya headed off to see if she could actually fly this thing. Hell, they might even make it out alive. This hopeful thought was quickly knocked from his head, as heavy thumps smashed against the sealed door. It held, but for how long. He moved from his cover over to a nearby wall, where a small, badly aged communications panel hung from some rusting screws, and was about to thumb the activation switch when a shrill voice echoed out at him. Ship still had a hard seal to the station, no going anywhere until this was remedied, and the instructions were clear. He jumped from where he stood, moving fast as he could toward the airlock control panel. Beside it on the wall was a raised rectangle cover, yellow and black lines running diagonally across its surface. No time for second guessing now. He gave one side of the cover a quick jab with the butt of his pistol, and the door fell from its worn hinges to the ground, revealing a vertical lever with a padded grip. Bingo, or at least he hoped. What're the odds that this just drains the bay of oxygen eh? The thought had only occurred once the lever had been pulled into its unlocked position, a red light clicking on overhead to signify, well, something or other. Joseph pressed his pistol down against the comms button, his other hand still wrapped around the grip of the lever, activating a channel to the bridge. "Clear." |

A-17 Ian looked over at Mike when he called his name and followed him to the Cargo Bay. Someone was there. Ian wiped his hands on a rag he had found, They were Bacta Green from installing the tank back into the air supply system. He'd have to hire a Mechanic to go over everything with a fine toothed comb, but Ian knew he could keep his ship together in a bind. His pistols rode his hips, Ghost on the left, and Ryder on the right. Both in plain view and easy reach.
Ian gave the newcomer a once over. He noted his posture and dress. His scoffed but still barley shiny dress shoes, his much too creased pants and wrinkled but still white shirt. Ian saw how the man was standing and how he looked more at his feet then at the two of them. Then Ian looked around the Cargo Bay and the docking area outside before looking back to the newcomer. He had checked for anyone that shouldn't be there, just in case. He drapped the rag over his shoulder. "I'm Ian Dugan. What's the message?" He had dropped his hands, now within easier reach of his 50 caliber Alliance Mark III's |

The boy seemed startled as the real Captain stepped forward, seeming to automatically look Ian up and down before his eyes fell back to his feet and he spoke again. "Naught but a messenger, Mr Dugan. My, err...manager. He wants to see you." He nodded a few times, as if agreeing with the message he'd been given to deliver. "Says he wanted to talk to you about work, ya see. " He nodded again, now slightly featuring towards the main door leading from the docking back. |

Jenna looked up at Remy tears streaming down her face. “How exactly is all of this going to be okay? Some guy that I don’t know died because I was in the wrong place at the wrong time and he felt the need to save me .” Jenna closed her eyes again trying not to start crying again. “Are you guys in some kind of trouble or something?” She asked not opening her eyes. “You don’t normally see people sneaking out of a hole in the floor. |

Cyrus observed the conversation between Joseph and Sonya as her voice, from up on the bridge, crackled through the intercom. The muffled popping of bullets and God knows what else from beyond the cargo bay door continued. He had a quick look around, noting where everyone and everything was, and turned his attention back to Saren. The Companion seemed to be taking care of their newest recruit, who looked to be in tears.Cyrus grunted his response - since they'd climbed on board - hell, since they'd left the prison block - he'd near forgotten the pain in his leg. It was subsiding now - nothing like a flight from the law to stretch out old muscles. "I'll be fine." He then looked across at Joseph who had just muttered something into the intercom, one hand resting on a lever in the control box. Well then... - he turned back to Saren. "Don't know if I'll be saying the same thing in a few minutes, though." With that, the old man shuffled backwards amongst some of the crates which were tied down the cargo bay floor, slowly lowering himself between two as if to brace himself for what was to come. The look on his face urged his young friend to follow his lead. "You two best hold onto something." He called across to Remy and the young girl, noting her tears. Poor thing... crawling around, doing God knows what, then all of a sudden she's got a dying man in front of her. Watching the life leave a person before your eyes wasn't something he'd wish upon anyone in the 'Verse. |

Sonya had activated the console and it lit up showing signs of life. The engine made a loud roaring sound as it powered up and then decreased to a gentle humming. A seasoned Alliance Officer appeared on a screen in the Bridge. "This is Commander Wilco of the HMS Pegasus, you are ordered to stop your ignition cycle and prepare to be boarded. Failure to comply will result in the destruction of your Ship." Once Joseph activated the emergency override to the Baroness Airlock door, the airlock walkway to the Red Dawn began to flash with a red blinking light and a high pitched alarm. Most of the Federal Agents made it back onto the Baroness in time, but two of them were left in the walkway as the airlock door sealed shut. The Feds ran to the Red Dawn side and looked in the small window, banging on the Airlock Door for assistance. The knocking was muffled through the thick door. A green light then flickered on the Bridge console indicating they were released from the station. MEANWHILE.... IN THE BARONESS Khei began to descend in the elevator to the lower level of the station via a maintenance elevator. Suddenly the elevator stopped and the power went out. Her computer flickered on as a message appeared on screen. How does one survive without oxygen? The sound of air being sucked out of the elevator through the top vent was evident as she began to choke and feel light headed. |

Khei cursed herself for falling for such a trick. I shoulda stayed on Beylix. Shoulda found some stairs. Gorram it am I stupid. Too late to worry about it now. Think. Breath.. hold your breath.. There's gotta be a way outta this! She inhaled what little air she could get before it was all gone and fought through the dizziness in her head in an attempt to ram a screwdriver into the seam of the door. She knew it was feeble but she wouldn't be able to do anything with the access panel inside the elevator and there was no way to reach the offending vent, particularly in the dark. Her computer screen provided little light beyond allowing her to see the message on the screen. She sent only one word back before using what little time she had in trying to pry the door open at least enough to allow air in. That was assuming there was any air on the other side or that she'd be able to pry it open in the first place. "Why?" |

Joseph watched the men slowly scramble toward the station, fail to make the cut, then head back toward the Red Dawn hatch. Damn. The green light above the door clicked. All that remained was a contact seal. Poor bastards. He shook his head, looked to Cyrus and opened his mouth "You...?" he asked aloud before stopping suddenly, and turned away toward the hatch at which the two man eagerly thudded. He gave the men a slow nod, reaching out to one side with his free hand and pressing the comms button once again. "Fast would be better than slow." |
