Name: James Chamberlain (Jimmy)

Personality
Jimmy isn't the sharpest ship on the wind. Hell, if one was talking about face-value intellect, he's some way from average. Despite this, though, the large man carries a certain charm that even the most civilised, educated and moneyed individuals could never learn. He's unknowingly, and almost sickeningly, an optimist when it comes to any facet in life. Had he not been, indeed, he'd not have made it as far as he has.

Strikingly, and sometimes unexpectedly, Jimmy is loyal to a tee. He can come off as gruff and defensive, especially when it comes to his sister or his own place in the world, but once he makes a friend he keeps them for life (noting, of course, that folk around Jimmy don't generally enjoy particularly leisurely longevity). He likes to have a laugh, likes to poke fun - sometimes not even knowing that he's doing so - and is often there to pick up the spirits of those around him.

Appearance
Jimmy is an ugly giant that needs no introduction - bald head, broken nose and boar-like, toothy grin are just a handful of his trademarks looks. Picking the bruiser from a crowd is never a hard feat. He generally dresses like an old-school biker, jeans and leather jacket with cut off sleeves. The brand isn't his own creation, nor deliberately designed to send a certain message - it's just all he knew, growing up with a rough crowd in the underbelly of the Core.

Equipment
Jimmy travels light. When he goes to work, it's usually something heavy (a crowbar or a bar or something equally conspicuous) and a sturdy, war-time pistol, the origins of which he's not clear on even himself.

History
Jimmy grew up in poverty, making ends meet with his younger sister, Evangeline, under the watchful eye of neglectful parents. His childhood could be easily summarised with four key, essence-defining milestones:

  • Meeting the school bully
  • Beating the school bully to a pulp
  • Beating up anyone who laid a hand on his sister
  • Leaving his dying parents and never looking back
Jimmy never felt strongly about his parents, and that goes for either direction. He didn't resent them. He didn't blame them. He didn't love them, either. When adulthood came to him and 'Vangy', as his younger and only sister preferred to be called, turning tail on their childhood home was a very quick and easy step for the pair to take.

The years between his 20s and his 30s soared by in a blur of making ends meet - Vangy stuck to cooking and working in textiles and Jimmy, to keep himself busy, got caught up in petty crime. He quickly learned, without overthinking anything as complex as a moral compass or a code of conduct, wherever the pair went there were people who wanted other people beaten up. That was his forte, and remains to this day.

The one constant throughout the whole journey, no matter how grim things go, was his younger sister. Knowing nothing more, Jimmy always knew he existed to keep her safe. Sometimes the definition he had of the word 'safe' would deviate from what others - including Vangy herself - thought it meant. It was heartbreaking at times, but he was always sure to share his own understanding of the concept.

His underhanded coping mechanism in dealing with Vangy and the life she'd chosen caused a lot of trouble. Feeling bad about it sometimes, the dopey brother always cheered himself up by reminding himself that it was his role - no matter when the 'Verse took them, he was a success if he kept her safe. Life was that simple.

Primary Skill: Beating the shit out of folk.

Secondary Skill: Having a laugh.
