Thanks for your feedback Sage Halo, it's very useful

Please notify me if there are any mistakes (especially mathematical ones, this is my maths revision for the exams)

If you plan to use a maximum of 5 taming items to catch a Level 1 Pet (25%), the chances are 48.4375%

If you plan to use a maximum of 5 taming items to catch a Level 2 Pet (20%), the chances are 38.75

If you plan to use a maximum of 5 taming items to catch a Level 3 Pet (15%), the chances are 29.0625%

If you plan to use a maximum of 5 taming items to catch a Level 4 Pet (10%), the chances are 19.375%

If you plan to use a maximum of 5 taming items to catch a Level 5 Pet (5%), the chances are 9.6875%

If you plan to use a maximum of 5 taming items to catch a Level 6 Pet (2%), the chances are 3.875%

(Note, the Pet Level system I use is of my own creation and is a reference only to the chances of capturing a pet)

LEVEL ONE PETS

- Drops, eats Orange Juice

LEVEL TWO PETS

- Poring, eat Unripe Apple
- Picky, eats Earthworm the Dude

LEVEL THREE PETS

- Chonchon, eats Rotten Fish
- Spore, eats Dew Laden Moss
- Lunatic, eats Rainbow carrot
- Savage Babe, eats Sweet Milk
- Desert Wolf Puppy, eats Well Dried Bone
- Rocker, eats Singing Flower

LEVEL FOUR PETS

- Poporing, eats Bitter Herb
- Steel Chonchon, eats Rusty Iron
- Poison Spore, eats Noxious Herb
- Pecopeco, eats Fatty Chubby Earthworm
- Smokie, eats Baked Yam
- Yoyo, eats Tropical Banana

LEVEL FIVE PETS

- Isis, eats Armlet of Obedience
- Munak, eats No Recipient
- Bongun, eats Her Heart
- Sohee, eats Silver Knife of Chastity
- Deviruchi, eats Contracts in Shadow
- Dokkaebi, eats Old Broom
- Orc Warrior, eats Horror of Tribe
- Petite, eats Shining Stone

LEVEL SIX PETS

- Baphomet Jr, eats Book of Devil

And remember, NEVER press the right mouse button to spin the view after you have double clicked on a taming item. This can be a costly and blisteringly stupid mistake.

Apparently the chances of getting a successful capture is higher if you beat up the monster you are going to capture (I haven't confirmed this, although my studies suggest this is true. My studies also indicate Munaks and Bonguns are bouncy). I wouldn't recommend you use more than 5 items to catch a pet, unless you're a megarich pet collector or a stupid rednecked nonthinking simpleton.

Anyhow, here are my recent studies (thanks to the merchant who sold 22 Sweet Milks for 2k each, 8 Earthworm the Dudes for 2k each, the kind novices who sold me unripe apples, my hode-hunting sister for the Fatty Chubby Earthworms and thanks mainly to Buddy, my pet Smokie for giving moral support)

Using the following taming items...
22 Sweet Milk: Savage Babe
8 Earthworm the Dude: Pickie
2 Unripe Apples: Porings
2 Fatty Chubby Earthworm: Pecopeco

...I went on a taming spree.

Half of each type of taming item were fed to animals that were beaten until they were almost dead, the other half of each type went to unbeaten animals
(eg, 11 of the 22 sweet milks went to savage babes that were beaten up beforehand, the other 11 of the sweet milks went to savage babes I hadn't even touched)

Beaten up monsters
7 Savage Babes caught
1 Poring caught
1 Pecopeco caught
2 Pickies caught

Untouched monsters
4 Savage Babes caught
0 Porings caught
0 Pecopecos caught
1 Pickie caught

Conclusion: My recent studies support the theory that hitting monsters until they are nearly dead will increase the chances of a successful capture. It all may be just a big coincidence. But 2 things are for certain:

1- Beating up a monster before taming it is always worth a try
2- I have so many pets I don't know what to do with them

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

More data - it is confirmed that beating up a monster before using a taming item does increase (greatly) the chances of successfully taming it.

According to the mRO English site, this is true.

While I have heard that there may be some exact HP levels a pet must have that gives the optimal taming chance, I always make sure the monster's health is 1HP before taming it. Here's more data, obtained from my own tamings and the taming successes of friends (I can only wish that I was the one who tamed the sohee and the yoyo )

5 Unripe Apples, 5 successful tames, All Porings at 1HP
1 Silver Knife of Chastity, 1 successful tame, Sohee at 75HP
3 Tropical Bananas, 1 successful tame, All Yoyos near death (not quite 1HP)
3 No Recipients, 2 successful tames, All Munaks at roughly 1/30th HP
5 Her Hearts, 1 successful tame, All Bonguns at roughly 1/10th HP
4 Orange Juices, 0 successful tames, All Drops at 8HP
4 Monster Juices, 0 successful tames, All Hunter Flies at roughly 1/30th HP
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another Poring Study

A friend of mine wanted to tame some porings and had 100 Unripe apples. He gave me 33, gave himself 33 and gave his wife 34. Unfortunately, my character was too strong to injure them, so provoked them instead. My friend's wife could injure the porings to near death using a weakened monk spell.

Me
3 Successful Tames

Friend's Wife
30 Successful Tames

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Don't be lazy: either get the monster to an extremely-low HP (like 1HP) or don't tame at all. Wasting taming items is not good.

The ideal way to minimize the monster's health is to get a wizard with the Estimation skill to keep telling you the monsters HP until you can get it precisely to the HP level you want. To help get it to 1HP, use your firsts when your regular attack is too strong. If a wizard with the Estimation skill is unavailable, simply use the ROEmpire database and a calculator.

Question ko lng bat Mahal mga Zealotus.. since d nmn masyado mahirap hanapin Tamings nila unlike Alice /swt

And it's not because na isa lang siya... It would be much easier concentrating on one target.....

Although the sohee and yoyo is quite reasonable.. but 20m+ for a Pet ?! Not worth it unless for Status Symbol....
