i got this post from `h.a.n.z.* who got it from sweetrevenger.(pahiram na rin ha) hope this enlighten some of the players who been hacked.(pakilipat na lang po mods if mali tong napagpostan ko.tnx) This is weird pero ito story: I was playing RO when someone/somebody pm'ed me in my YM with a broadcast message displaying a geocities url: ihackedyouinpro: http://www.geocities.com/ihackedyouinpro Out of curiosity i opened the site and i found a very interesting topic. (Rue Aerith: EDIT-So that people won't be afraid of compromising security, I'll just post here the contents of the site, so it will be clear.) "The Truth about "some" Hacked pRO Accounts: Eversince Levelup! Started changing the process of the change e-mail feature, I've had the opportunity to hack or let's say open some "WEAK" accounts in Philippine Ragnarok Online. Players are *****. They blame the company but in my point of view, they lack the effort in protecting their own accounts. Yes they play at home, they have antivirus scanners, firewall and even Gameguard. They have one thing i know that they don't. Information can be easily gathered on the net. This is just a sample of my "research". Players are confident that their account is safe. This of course is not true. As long as anyone (including yourself) can access your account, your account is not safe. I'm pissed off with players who blame the company for the rampant hack/delete cases nowadays. This is the reason why some got hacked/deleted. Tamad ang mga players ng pRO. The key is their secret question/secret answer. Sa sobrang katamaran ng mga players, hindi nila pinapahalagahan ang kanilang secret question/secret answer. This serves as a lesson for them not to display vital information on the net. a. Case 1 - eminar His secret question is: favorite superhero? Now what comes out out first in your mind when you encounter this kind of question? I leave this as a clue. Lesson to be learned: Don't use a secret question/answer that can be easily browsed in the net. Questions like these have limited answer. b. Case 2 - maskishmark His secret question is: What is your favorite past-time? Past times are things most people always do. In short, past-times are also called "HOBBIES" Lesson to be learned: If you're going to use this secret question/answer, DON't put it on friendster/myspace or even answer some chain e-mail's which might include giving info about yourself. c. Case 3 - arnellenra His secret question is: What is your pet's name? This is a hard one. I call this secret question the best secret question in RO. Nobody can crack this one except if your secret answer and your username is the same or part of your username is the secret answer. Lesson to be learned: Don't use a secret answer that is the same as your username or is a part of your username. d. Case 4 - zenadorion His secret question iS: What is your real name? This is easy. One word: Friendster Lesson to be learned: This secret question sucks! Don't use it. e. Case 5 - abetpo His secret question iS: Sino? Pretty tough question eh? This question can be answered by another question, "Who?". now Who is accessing the account? Lesson to be learned: Don't use secret questions that can be easily answered by ako, ikaw, tayo, sila etc.... Its too easy to guess. f. Case 6 - abbiemahalkita01 His secret question is: Who is your childhood hero? Now this is a combination of Case 1, 2 and 3. Lesson to be learned: This guy is really smart but not enough. He used a secret question but a different secret answer. The only problem is, the answer is a part of the username. Wrong move buddy. g. Case 7 - aceoliver His secret question is: 1+2? Now this is funny. Even a 1st grader or a kinder student can answer this one. Lesson to be learned: Don't use math questions. h. Case 8 - adamlomarda His secret question is: Who was your childhood hero? This is a combination of Case 1 and Case 2. Lesson to be learned: Don't use a secret question which can be found on friendster or blog services. i. Case 9 - addicted3 His secret question is: Cute ba ako ?? Need i say more? Lesson to be learned: Don't ask questions like these. Questions that can be answered by a yes or no, Oo, hindi, siguro, sigurado is very easy to answer. j. Case 10 - crimsondeath16 His secret question is: Who is my girlfriend? Another RO/friendster user. Lesson to be learned: Friendster contain vital information about yourself. Don't use secret questions that is exposed on friendster or your blog. k. Case 11 - ladyjean Her secret question is: How old i am? Does age matter? YES! Lesson to be learned: Age matters. Don't use a secret question that can be answered by numbers such as age, year or even birthdates. l. Case 12 - redshadow His secret question is: What is my favorite color? Colors are limited. Lesson to be learned don't use colors as your secret answer. Colors in a rainbow is only 7 ROYGBIV. Do i need to explain more? m. Case 13 - lanzjane His secret question is: Hi? What do you reply back when a person says Hi? Lesson to be learned: Don't use a secret question that is used in everyday conversations. n. Case 14 - garret611 His secret question is: WHAT IS YOUR NAME? This is a combination of Case 2 and Case 3 with a different approach. Notice that the secret question is in ALL CAPS. Lesson to be learned: Don't give clues on your secret question. The secret question alone is enough to make your account safe. giving clues such as this can be easily guessed. o. Case 15 - jaerog His secret question is: What is my zodiac sign? There are about 12 Signs of the zodiac. Lesson to be learned: Don't use a secret question that can beanswered by using trial and error. OVERALL Conclusion: Ang Katamaran ay di maganda sa katawan. If you don't want to get hacked, strengthen your accounts. Don't blame someone by your own mistakes." |

FYI nga pala.yung si crimsondeath16 is a player from loki and he admitted na naging pabaya nga sya sa bagay na yan.at least this thing gives reasons na maraming factor kung bakit nahahack at di lang isang dahilan ang titingnan. dapat nagiisip rin kung may kapabayaan rin sa part nila di ba.

good point pero may tanong ako dyan... pano nya nalaman username ng na-hack? kung sinasabi na unsafe and account basta't kayang i-access especially the owner.. galing naman sobra ng hacker.. especially sa mga naglalaro lng sa bahay.. kasi sobrang lantaran na Hack / H/D e.. ![]() d kasama ung so called "pinatira" tlga kasi desperado ah.. ibang usapan kasi un e kahit hack pa din... |

kaya nga sya hacker fafs kasi magaling sya sa mga pasikot sikot at pagpasok sa mga secured site sa net. sinabi nya fafs na sa sa pagchange email nya napasok ang system ng LUG.its a matter nga raw ng research and tamang site ng pagreresearchan. |

hehe... magaling sya magresearch... parang nakikita nya tinatype sa browser ng may-ari ng account.. parang nakasave ung info at access na lng nya kung kelan nya gusto... kasi pagchange email ka wala kasing nilalagay na username and password pagdumating na email sayo ng LUG.. kaya ko natanong... anyways, hackers are good... but not all...

system nga po yung napapasok ng hacker hindi yung pc ng may-ari kaya all the necessary info kayang pasukin. :phew: try to look on some articles about hacking in the US.kung pano sila nakakapasok sa CIA, mga bank accounts and pano ginagawa yung identity theft.sa kanila everything is wired down to the last info and all the necessary security for their accounts inaapply na but still napapasok pa rin.sa atin pa kaya? maybe some of it will enlighten you about probability of this post. your right about hackers are good but not all.but still their good enough to do those dirty works than the rest of us.

i agree..it is the secret answet that would be the one responsible upon hacking.. nabahala ako ever since pinadali ang pagchange email by means of using a secret answer.. and madaling ikeylog ang secret answer, kc walang gameguard kung magbubukas ka ng internet browser and itytype mo secret ans mo... good thing napalitan secret answer ko.. mahirap na eh..
